Draft:StruSoft

Hi, and thanks for the feedback.

Being a novice I have difficulties to understand what I'm doing wrong. I compare with the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tekla and cannot see my lack of skills writing. They do also use their own URLs as sources and I don't find that a reliable source - do you?

Please help me so I can find a solution.

Best regards, Anders

Being an academic writer in more than 40 years I really don't understand your "not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed" since noting is created by me. I use links to several other companies, to three reviewed articles and Wiki Pages. You must provide me with better arguments to reject, so I really can understand my lack of skill.— Preceding unsigned comment added by AndPet StruSoft (talkcontribs) 14:14, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

I can't see the draft as it was deleted as blatant advertising. Theroadislong (talk) 14:33, 10 February 2022 (UTC)
Encyclopaedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, and refer to reliable independent sources. Writing for Wikipedia is VERY different to academic writing, see WP:YFA for help. And "not just to materials produced by the creator of the subject being discussed" refers to sources connected to the subject NOT you. I see the deleting admin commented "Unambiguous advertising or promotion: just another "this is what we sell", no refs, nothing else about the company". Smith & Dove Co.

Thanks so much for your fast feedback. Maybe this is two pages - one about Smith & Dove Co. and another about John Smith. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Millworks (talkcontribs) 16:23, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

I think that could work. Theroadislong (talk) 16:33, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Roland Bacon page

You add the following comment: "Comment: Actually autobiographies ARE allowed on Wikipedia, but they are "strongly discouraged".

That's fine with me, but there are many autobiography in wikipedia and I think it is useful when it is linked with existing pages already in wikipedia. In this case "The MUSE project" Multi_Unit_Spectroscopic_Explorer or the scientific awards, eg Jackson-Gwilt_Medal. Of course I could ask one of my colleague to do that for me, but it is more factual if it is done by the interested party. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RolandBacon (talkcontribs) 17:39, 11 February 2022 (UTC) RolandBacon (talk) 17:42, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

RolandBacon Wikipedia has no interest in being "factual". A Wikipedia article summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notableperson. You are NOT the person to be writing this, in 14 years of editing here I have very rarely seen it done successfully. Theroadislong (talk) 00:56, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

I am surprised that an exact translation of an existing wikipedia page in French that has been validated for a few years is not feasible in the English version. The content will then depend on the language. It is true that a person "notable" in one country could not be considered as "notable" in other countries, but in science this should not be the case. Anyway, I give up trying to get a translation of this page into English, I naively thought it would be a formality. RolandBacon (talk) 01:26, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

Tawny Chatmon article

Thank you for your quick review. I have updated the draft in response to your comments. --the reference to her use of gold leaf in the style of Klimt and Byzantine work is sourced to a review that appeared on Colossal, the leading website on contemporary art --the purchase by the Minneapolis Art Institute is now directly sourced. (It had been at the end of the sentence but I moved it up.) The problem with the link has also been resolved; it is now working. Happy to make any other changes you desire! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Congha2540 (talkcontribs) 21:22, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

We have very little interest in what her own gallery "Galerie Myrtis" has to say, that is a primary source, articles are based on reliable independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 21:29, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

Hmmm, it is her resume. An artist would get in trouble pretty quickly if they listed purchases that were not legitimate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Congha2540 (talkcontribs) 21:52, 12 February 2022 (UTC) adding this other source: https://sugarcanemag.com/2020/09/this-week-in-black-art-august-31-september-4-2020/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Congha2540 (talkcontribs) 21:54, 12 February 2022 (UTC) I also found another source that confirms purchases by celebrities so have added that as well. Thank you for pushing me to verify this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Congha2540 (talkcontribs) 22:08, 12 February 2022 (UTC)

Draft: The Scottish Feudal Barony of MacDuff

Thanks for your time spent reviewing my first article. The website you referenced was copied verbatim from my wiki article. It is different only because edits have been made to the wikipedia draft since then. The site also had a link to the wiki page, for references and the hot links to related wikipedia articles. The link was removed when my article was moved out of main space and into drafts. If you look at all of my edits, you will see none of it was copied and pasted. Because of this, another editor has removed the speedy deletion request, and I hope you find my explanation good reason to have done so, as they did. Neither of us know what is supposed to be done, besides what I have found, which was to note the situation on my talk page. I did that. I also noticed that in your request for speedy deletion, there was mentioned a way to have the website make it clear that what is written is in the public domain. Doing so, though, implies that the wikipedia article isn’t first, which isn’t true. Should I have that added to the webpage anyway? I have worked hard on this article, throughout the pandemic lockdown, and I would like it moved to the main space in support of the series it supports. Thanks again. (Grnhrnt35 (talk) 23:29, 12 February 2022 (UTC))

Ok, it looks like it was all sorted whilst I slept! Theroadislong (talk) 09:17, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Erold Naomab

Hi Theroadislong! Re: Draft:Erold Naomab, I have to admit that your decline puzzles me. In the edit summary you mention notability. Naomab heads a university of 30,000 students, that can't be right? The decline template in turn asks for more reliable/independent sources---The claim of notability (vice-chancellor of NUST) is referenced to the two large national English dailies; those articles are about him, not passing mentions. There are more sources of his appointment, but that cannot be the issue, either? Would be great if you could clarify what you expect to see in a bio stub as this. Thanks, Pgallert (talk) 20:21, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

This [1] which you have used twice is an interview which is not considered reliable or independent. The other source doesn't load for me so I can't assess it. There is nothing inherently notable about being a " assistant pro-vice chancellor". Theroadislong (talk) 20:31, 13 February 2022 (UTC)

Make a Difference Foundation Submission

Hi Theroadislong,

I am trying to best understand your comments so that I can improve on this submission.

You commented that "This is just blatant advertising" and quoted a line beginning "MAD ran its annual ball online...".

Could you please elaborate on what you mean for these two points? I'm not sure I understand specifically what you're trying to reference.

Thanks, DC D.C. at MAD Foundation Inc. (talk) 01:07, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia summarizes information that appears in independent reliable sources with significant coverage showing how a company meets Wikipedia's special definition of a notable company. Wikipedia is not interested in what a company wants to say about itself. Theroadislong (talk) 08:21, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Dubba Jonny

Hey I've never edited a wikipedia article before but I was big in the dubstep scene and wikipedia has SO MANY artists WAY less influential with a page, even within dubstep. Literally everyone even somewhat into dubstep has heard UKF dubstep tutorial, I don't think I'm exaggerating to say for a very short period of time after it was released it was one of the top 3 electronic songs in the world in popularity. Dubba jonny not having an article is honestly a travesty, I just don't know how to write a wikipedia article very well and especially without citing youtube as a source. I have other things cited and I've seen many other articles with youtube videos cited, honestly I don't know how to fix this and I need help. Al Rubyx (talk) 16:49, 14 February 2022 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Al Rubyx (talkcontribs) 16:42, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Your draft Draft:Dubba Jonny doesn’t indicate how the person would pass the criteria at WP:GNG or WP:NMUSICIAN, having 9 million views on youtube is irrelevant I’m afraid, unless it has been reported on in-depth in multiple reliable sources. Theroadislong (talk) 16:48, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Dubba Jonny

I included a few more references, plus an apparently important one that he was on the top of the juno dubstep charts for over a week at one point. Thanks for the help!Al Rubyx (talk) 17:26, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Not understanding

I’m not really sure what I’m doing wrong in my page. There is no sense of promotion I’m getting for my article. Could you help? 2603:8000:D300:259B:F839:8DFE:8E12:3B69 (talk) 21:58, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

You will have to give me a clue which article you're referring to. Theroadislong (talk) 22:03, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks

Don't want to waste your time and not sure if you'll even see who I am who wrote this.

Reason for article - we are not seeking publicity for U de B, but merely wish to make his original philosophy and visual arts insights known more widely. Philosophy and visual art , they are his reason for existing and his insights are really unique, serious and transforming phil discipline. As for U de B being notable as a person or not, he has no interest in that and I doing this editing, we (his close circle, understand and respect that). He has no interest in publicity, being a major academic figure etc and stayed out of academic institutions devoting al his time to his research and writing. And, the former are already shown on phil sites , the reason why I , us, never bothered about an article. But Wikipedia is a popular reference work so I, we, thought, an article on him can do no harm.

I am aware of those places not being reliable, but we merely use them to show actual facts re books available and images in the case of Instagram . as they're important for the art section of his work. Those are facts and they either exist , as books or images, or they do not.

I might attempt the referencing adjustments, but I am very busy with other priorities, and it will take forever to acquire suitable Wikipedia reference skills, so I am not sure if it is worth it.

Thanks anyway for your time. Deltonyoung (talk) 15:15, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Your comment that you "merely wish to make his original philosophy and visual arts insights known more widely" is absolutely not what Wikipedia is for, I would suggest a blog would be a better venue. Please also note that wikipedia accounts are strictly single person use. Theroadislong (talk) 15:51, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Blogs already exist. I notice someone else, Orange something says this is advertising, Believe me with all the books , articles, art work de Balbian does not need advertising and on Wikipedia. What we attempted to publish here has today been used for interviews, etc somewhere else, your loss.Deltonyoung (talk) 23:59, 14 February 2022 (UTC)

Hospital Jihlava

Thanks for reviewing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Hospital_Jihlava. I would appreciate some suggestions how to make it look less like an advertisment, which it definitely doesn't want to be. The hospital is a governmental public institution, the only hospital in Jihlava region. I provided all sources for its history (since 13th century) but there are none for the current state except for the hospital websites (https://www.nemji.cz/en/index.asp), which I deliberately used only once. The article is in fact a shorter sum-up of the same entry in Czech wikipedia https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nemocnice_Jihlava All sources that could be provided would be about its scientific activities (e. g. https://www.researchgate.net/institution/Hospital-Jihlava) its IT department (e. g. https://www.logmanager.cz/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/LOGmanager_Hospital_Jihlava_Case_study_v1.pdf) but I don't consider those relevant sources for the general encyclopedia entry. Please, tell me what other independent, reliable, public sources could I look for to provide there? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Honza78 (talkcontribs) 11:49, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Sincerely respected wise colleague, You are probably not a world economist. Revaz Lordkipanidze is a Georgian economist and some of his opinions have a specific expression, just like the paintings of different artists. Therefore, his vital opinions are translated as close as possible to the text, criticizing some outdated opinions and preserving the well-known economic essence. Antimonopolist, Feb 15, 2022. Draft:Worcester Festival Choral Society

Thank you for reviewing the content of the page.

I would like further clarification as to the reasons that the draft was declined, to know what to adjust for my next submission

I consider that I have added a good number of independent citations and all the information that I have put on can be verified against published sources.

The Wikipedia page has been split into different sections:-

   Intro
   1	Choir
   2	Directors of Music
   3	History
   4	References
   5	External links

Can you let me know which sections that I need to adjust, or give me reasons for your decision.

Having done quite a lot of research and editing, I don't want to change those parts that meet the standard CyrilPul (talk) 12:01, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Monopods / Skiapods

Dear Theroadislong,

Thank you for reviewing the article I tried to publish on Skiapods. I'm new to the community and was wondering if there would be a way to change the title of the article 'Monopod (creature)' to Skiapodes?

It's a topic I'm very passionate about — I touched upon it in my dissertation years ago, studying the writings of Hecataeus of Miletus and Aristophanes, among others. To my personal regret, I do feel that the English Wikipedia-title 'Monopods' does not pay homage to the richness of the Greek 'Skiápodes' and the topic's history; and is furthermore overshadowed by references to camera stands these days.

Would you be so kind to explain to me how to address this issue and have the title changed?

Thank you, Okspas Okspas (talk) 11:06, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Gary Ashworth Review

Hi. I hope you're keeping well. You declined a page that I had created, Gary Ashworth, on 7th November, and since then a number of amends have been made in order to make the page approvable. The page is currently still waiting for a review, and so I was hoping you might be able to take another look? Many thanks, Ryan RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 18:21, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

You appear to be fixated on one topic here, namely Draft:Gary Ashworth do you have a conflict of interest by any chance? Theroadislong (talk) 18:29, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for your response. I'm fixated on the topic because I've spent a lot of time and effort researching, writing and amending the page, and want to get it over the line before starting on a new one. As previously disclosed, I don't have a conflict of interest - I read Gary's book and realised that he would make for a great 'my first page' on Wikipedia as he did not feature already. Many thanks, Ryan RyanJEdwards1 (talk) 20:55, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Your school draft was declined NOT rejected, Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something or someone Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic. ALL reviewers look for at least 3 reliable, independent sources. Theroadislong (talk) 19:04, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
See your first article for general help and read WP:REFB for help with formatting sources. Your school would need to be the subject of significant coverage in reliable sources before being considered notable enough. Please be aware that creating an article on Wikipedia is a very difficult task and users are usually advised to spend a few months editing in other areas to get a feel for how thing work. Theroadislong (talk) 19:38, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

look there is not as much stuff in that draft that will impact the lovely life of wikpedia, there is nothing not true there if you use common sence, there is a posablilty that there is no sites that contain info, there might just be 2 this more seems like ur speedrunning reveiws to get your ¨1000 per month rewards¨" I also looked at other people commenting and I saw that they said that you are a paid person to do these stuff

I consider that a personal attack, so will not be helping you any further. Theroadislong

personal attack, nice, Thank you for your time and your incredible replys I see you grind wikipedia. I again thank you for your time and your really ¨nice¨ advice, I am sorry if this seems like a personal attack and I do not want to attack you in any way. Sorry and good luck with your life and your payments.

I want this noted so if anyone else comes here wanting to throw this "paid" nonsense at volunteer editors can see, I may not agree with every aspect of the AFC process but the reviewers here at Wikipedia are volunteers that don't get paid a dime and none of them are getting rewarded for doing a thousand reviews per month. Articles like this created by new editors is exactly why we have an AFC process. It's why editors that volunteer at the Teahouse answer the same questions over and over again. In our own individual ways and collectively as a community we want to help new editors understand the policies and create articles or edit existing articles in a way that adheres to the requirements set out by Wikipedia policy. I, for one, appreciate the hard work of the reviewers. Attacking them or their efforts in this manner will get you nowhere with any of the other volunteer editors working to build a better encyclopedia. Civility applies to everyone, including new editors. Even though I wasn't involved I apologize to you @Theroadislong for the unnecessary attack on your character and your contributions to this encyclopedia. --ARoseWolf 17:54, 21 February 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the help!

Your comment: "Comment: Why does "Guarantee Fund for Road Victims" need 7 references? One is sufficient. Theroadislong (talk) 15:20, 23 February 2022 (UTC)"

I have added all the law references related to the public service offered by Consap and the pages in which it is cited because I saw that the first rejection was because this information was missing.

Also, in the first rejection: "This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of organizations and companies). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia."

I did not understand why "the notability" wasn't correct. Actually I'm inserting an article that exists in the Italian Wikipedia in order to get the translation for our country in English and completing the Ministry of Economy and Finance (Italy) § Unlisted companies page of Wikipedia English

Rankins page

Hi....I see you say 'we use surnames' as the reason for chaning Rankin to Wadeel, but that doesn't fall in line with other pages of people with one name, Cher for instance is referred to throughtout her page as Cher, not 'Sarkisian'. From the start of the page being created in 2005 he has been referred to as Rankin so not sure why you are now making this call on the name.

Weegee (Arthu Fellig) was using a pseudonym and yet on his page he is reffered to as Weegee throughout.....I am happy to find other examples if thats not enough.

Features for new users coming soon (and mentors, like you, wanted!)

Hello. As you're currently listed as a host at the Teahouse, I wanted to make sure you're aware of the imminent rollout of new Growth Team Features which every new account will be getting by default. Each users will soon see a new 'Homepage' tab next to their User page. It contains two main elements which might impact on your involvement - and you'd be welcome to get involved and help out directly with one of them.

  • Firstly, they will be offered a range of 'suggested edits', and encouraged to make simple improvements to pages that interest them. (Being aware of this feature would be helpful for all Teahouse hosts if you're likely to offer advice on tasks for them to start out doing.)
  • There's also a 'Your impact' box to show them how many people have seen the pages they've just edited.
  • Finally, each new user is randomly assigned a 'mentor' from a list of friendly, experienced editors, like yourself. If they get stuck, they can ask a question directly to them via a Your mentor box, and hopefully get a swift, friendly answer from that mentor. Currently, this feature is given to 2% of new users, but it's set to increase to around 10% in the very near future.

To spread the load on our current list of around 65 mentors, I'm reaching out to ask if you'd like to help out and sign up as one? The workload is relatively small; User Panini! reports receiving four questions a month, on average, all of which were simple ones of the type we already get at the Teahouse and elsewhere, and I've had just the one in the last 3 weeks. To view a list of every question asked of all mentors over the last 14 days, click here.

Draft:Kalliope: a journal of women's literature and art

Good afternoon: Thanks so much for your speedy review of my first article! I took your advice and added citations to external sources (particularly coverage by local news media such as The Florida Times-Union and the magazine Jacksonville Today), but I still got bumped back for not having significant coverage in reliable sources. I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong - could the issue be that the specific coverage mentioned is not available online and thus not linkable? A few of the sources I cite are available within databases, but Wikipedia blocked the links since they were proprietary. Or is it possible some of the confusion is because I'm adding citations for specific poems, etc. within Kalliope which overwhlem the external sources? If so, I can definitely remove those.

Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. I've been trying to pattern after pages for other defunct literary magazines, but clearly I'm missing the mark somehow.

Sources do not need to be online as long as they have been published in a reliable source, notability can't be inherited, so the list of contributors doesn't help much. It's not a good idea to base the draft on other articles unless they have been assessed as good or featured articles. See other poor quality articles exist. Good luck. Texas Tech University Libraries (TTU)

Thank you for responding to my TTU Libraries wiki page.

I would like to get this page up and running. This is my first time drafting a Wikipedia article, and I am still getting used to the admittedly complex layout.

As a disclosure, I do work for the TTU Library (still trying figuring out how to set up the user page to disclose that). However, I don't want the page to be an advertisement, so I am wondering the steps I need to take to make the article as neutral as possible. We understand the philosophy of Wikipedia, and we are merely creating the page to build on the information already on Texas Tech. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TTULibrary (talkcontribs) 21:34, 1 March 2022 (UTC)

You will need to change your user name first, then make a paid user disclosure on your user page as per the instuctions on your talk page. Wikipedia doesn't exist for you to "build" on information already on here about Texas Tech, that is advertising. Theroadislong (talk) 21:38, 1 March 2022 (UTC)
Understood. Thank you for the help. [User:TTULibrary|TTULibrary]] (talk

Benjamin Pak Wikipedia has essentially no interest in anything you or I want to say about anything. It is only interested in what reliable sources have published about a subject. Your draft has zero independent reliable sources? Theroadislong (talk) 17:16, 2 March 2022 (UTC)

Hi,

what additional secondary info should I add? Like make my first link for university the link to my name on my schools site with the graduating list of my class year? and the business source by adding a link to my province's business registry site on my company page?

Re: Your submission at Articles for creation: Consap S.p.A. (February 23)

Hello, Theroadislong. You have new messages at ReneRam63's talk page.
Message added 08:54, 3 March 2022 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Hello. sorry for bothering, but I'm new to this Wikipedia stuff, just wanted to give a hand. I've read your motivation for the declination of the article, but I don't understand it. I just translated the Italian version of this page. If you can help me to put it online it would be great, otherwise the draft will be automatically deleted in a short time by the system (I think?). Actually it's none of my business or interest, I'm more prone on editing/adding in the music kind of articles.

ReneRam63 (talk) 08:54, 3 March 2022 (UTC) ReneRam63

Your contributions show you have edited nothing but Draft:Consap, the draft is an advert because it is mainly a list of their activities. Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something, Wikipedia summarises what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. Your comment about patent table notability in draft article about Joseph Archibald Williams

Must disagree that a summary table of patents by J.A. Williams, with links to original USPTO patent documents in not notable. Compiling this list requires some research work; it is not readily available online; and when I did it in the '80s it meant going thru the year-by-year card catalogs of the USPTO library in Virginia. And 31 patents over 30 years is not notable? They don't just give these things away; a serious presentation of prior art, detailed description and drawings, and claims showing usability, originality, and unobviousness (this is the most contentious requirement) must pass review from the USPTO examiner before "Letters of Patent" is awarded. Note the word "Award." Is there a shortage of space in Wikipedia? Providing a link for each patent in the summary table allows a reader further access to the images and details of each patent, in case they might be curious. I'm one of those curious persons. Dougwill2 (talk) 23:40, 4 March 2022 (UTC)

I stand by what I said, WP:PATENTS states "Noting the existence of patents or patent applications is a common form of puffery for businesses. Avoid giving too much emphasis to their existence or contents." Theroadislong (talk) 08:17, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Harold Paz- Own Works Independent

Hello Theroadislong,

Can you clarify what you mean by his own works aren't independent. Harold holds two patents and has sourced his publications in several reputable journals. Are you looking for the full publication, or other means to verify his work?

Also, I referenced wikipedia pages of people who he either knew, like Robert Noyce, or others who either used his work, like Bob Widlar. Are these not allowed? How would you suggest to link the work that he did to other inventions that used his work as the foundation?

Thank you,

Artymys — Preceding unsigned comment added by Artymys (talkcontribs) 18:34, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

They mean precisely that - Anything the subject has written, said, filmed, etc. is not independent of them, and thus not usable for notability or for biographical claims that can potentially be challenged. We also do not cite Wikipedia. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v a little blue Bori 19:02, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

Nasabka In order to demonstrate notability, you need to provide multiple references to in-depth articles written about the person in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books or online. If there are no sources then we can’t have an article about them, none of your sources so far are reliable. The topic does not appear to be notable, sorry. Draft:Worcester Festival Choral Society

Thank you for reviewing the content of the page and for you comment that it is still overly promotional.

As previously, I would like further clarification as to the reasons that the draft was declined, to know what to adjust for my next submission

I have significantly added a good number of citations from what I class as trustworthy sources.

The Wikipedia page has been split into different sections:-

  Intro
  1	Choir
  2	Directors of Music
  3	History
  4	References
  5	External links

Can you let me know which sections that I need to adjust, or give me reasons for your decision.

Thanks CyrilPul (talk) 21:04, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Draft:Worcester Festival Choral Society

I appreciate your advice and comments on making this page meet the Wikipedia standards.

I have changed the format of the performance history and split it into 3 sections removing the words notable performance.

The text has changed considerably to remove phrases that duplicated certain claims and to take out what I consider may be overly promotional.

I haven't resubmitted it as I understand that it is still out for review.

Thank you.

Your draft article, Draft:Agnar Kofoed-Hansen

Hello, Theroadislong. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Agnar Kofoed-Hansen".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 17:08, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Please nominate attack pages for deletion

Hi, Theroadislong. I just deleted the requested article Draft:Jason Avery/Monstrosity and Eulogy that you declined on 27 September 2021. It then lingered on in Draft space. This was very clearly a libelous attack page so it should be deleted as per WP:BLPREMOVE which applies to draft space too. A good reason is that many of the Wikipedia copycat websites will scrape our draft space for content. I found this article on one of those sites and I was shocked at the nature of the post. And then doubly shocked when it said the source was Wikipedia, and sure enough it was! The moral is that draft space "bleeds out" of Wikipedia in unexpected ways. So, if you see any submission that violates WP:BLPREMOVE, please nominate it for speedy deletion just as you would any other violation of that policy. Cheers, Jason Quinn (talk) 03:36, 5 March 2022 (UTC)

That is exactly what I would normally do. I'm sorry I missed this one. Theroadislong (talk) 08:14, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
No worries. It was just a friendly reminder. Thanks for patrolling our requested articles. See you 'round. Jason Quinn (talk) 08:05, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

West Wolds Radio

I see that you have refused my request to return my article on West Wolds Radio to Wikipedia, and that you left a message on my talk page saying that I am being disruptive by resubmitting this request for it to be returned to Wikipedia.

I am unclear as to why i am being disruptive when I merely asked for a second opinion and regarding references, why have you rejected this as non notable simply because the two references were about the closure of the station? I am expected to provide independent references and I have done this. Therefore please tell me why this isn't good enough for an article to appear on Wikipedia. Rillington (talk) 15:48, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a place to merely tell about something, Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability. Theroadislong (talk) 15:51, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
I still don't see why you have rejected my article. Plus the references also mention other aspects of the station, such as when it first went on air. I will reflect this in a future redraft of the article so when i do this please accept that i am providing independent references to back up the material i am providing. Will you please do this and help me out rather than just rejecting my efforts, saying that I am violating definitions of this and that. It's actually very demoralising when you repeatedly have your efforts rejected on opinion-based technicalities. Rillington (talk) 16:06, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Your draft was declined NOT rejected, rejected would mean there was no chance of being accepted, declined means that if you find better sources which cover West Wolds Radio in more detail, it could be accepted. It has nothing whatsoever to do with my opinion, it is Wikipedia guidelines for accepting a draft article. In order to demonstrate notability, you need to provide multiple references to in-depth articles written about West Wolds Radio in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books or online. Theroadislong (talk) 16:15, 7 March 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. Many articles don't have multiple references to in-depth articles written about the subject in unrelated, independent journals, magazines, books or online but those articles are not declined or rejected so I feel it is unfair that mine seem to be, as this is not the first article that an article of mine been declined in recent weeks. Rillington (talk) 15:32, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
Rillington please see other poor quality articles exist for that argument, that is NOT an excuse to create more! Theroadislong (talk) 15:59, 8 March 2022 (UTC)
I find all of this rather demoralising when all I am trying to do is to expand Wikipedia only to find myself repeatedly having people rejecting my efforts with no offers of help, saying that I have violated rules on things like independent sources and notability despite providing acceptable references, as I have done here.Rillington (talk) 16:04, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

I see that you continue to take a major interest in my West Wolds Radio article without any attempt to help me to make it any better, this time by leaving yet another note telling me that i have done something wrong. If you had looked at what i have actually done, you would have seen that I stated that I have added additional references which are independent references which are not connected to the subject. I have now asked for my article to be returned to Wikipedia. This is not being disruptive, which you said I was being on 7th March. This is merely wanting my efforts to be recognised with my article being available on Wikipedia. Rillington (talk) 14:49, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

It is disruptive to remove decline notices, you have submitted the draft for review another reviewer will accept or decline as appropriate. Theroadislong (talk) 14:52, 9 March 2022 (UTC)

Clean up of Duckhorn Vineyards article

Hi -- As I mentioned on the Duckhorn Vineyard Talk page, I'd be interested in doing a clean-up of the Duckhorn article. It needs a thorough revision, updating, language clean-up, better sourcing. Would you have any objection to me moving ahead? I've written about wine-related subjects for Wikipedia (and in real life) and know that there are plenty of reliable sources to use. Kinda odd that there's no mention of the legal tangle with Duck Dynasty. Thanks! 04:46, 10 March 2022 (UTC)
