Article deleted has arisen from the grave

I saw from the logs that you deleted GetJar before, however it has been recreated today. It appears not only as a violation of copyright law (directly from the source), but a giant ad for the company and without an independant source. Reubzz (talk) 00:30, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

I see Orangemike took care of it. :) – Toon 17:37, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

St. Catherine's Page

Hi.

What was the reasoning behind the deletion of the St. Catherine's Page?

I am, as I explained, the communications officer of the sailing club, and I infact created the content for our website.

It is of importance to wikipedia because major sailing events and visits from navy vessels have been made over the years, I would like to record these. Were also the southly most sailing club in the British Isles.

PROD of Paul Edney

Hi. You've proposed the article on Paul Edney for deletion. I just wanted to let you know that the page was deleted once before via a PROD (I was the prodder), and this article is a recreation. The article was recreated by the same editor. If you check the history, this version shows I proposed this in August 2009. It might make more sense to take this to AFD and get a concesus for deletion which can be used to prevent any further recreations. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 21:45, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Ah right. Thanks for letting me know, I'll go through AfD instead. – Toon 21:48, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

What is with you guys and all this censorship? Are you anti-actor or something? Paul Edney meets Wikikpedia criteria. There is no copyright violation. So what's your problem? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Enelani (talkcontribs) 08:28, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

I forgot I didn't protect this one myself! I looked at the expiration, but didn't even register your username! Sorry! Since I had already said I would unprotect it a day early if everybody behaved, I went ahead. I hope you don't mind. Please trout me if you do. Actually, I'd forgotten that I protected it too. I don't do protections very often and I have to admit I'm not too fond of them, so feel free to alter any you come across as you feel necessary! :) – Toon 21:59, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. And the reverse is true, of course. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 22:06, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

Anointed Pace Sisters

You deleted Anointed Pace Sisters as a copyvio. I think that the last version I edited was clean, but a subsequent editor may have reintroduced copyvio text. -- Eastmain (talk) 01:58, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi. Hrmmm, it looks like the copyvio remained following your edits; the subsequent IP edits were mainly stylistic - wikifying, metadata etc. Probably 2/3 of the article was still copy-pasted from [1], however it wasn't immediately obvious. All of the text on "Films" and the section beginning "The Anointed Pace Sisters recorded two projects..." was also lifted from the website. The sentence serving as the intro looked clean, and I couldn't find a violation in the biographical paragraph but the style makes me suspect that it too was lifted from somewhere - possibly offline. If you wanted to create a new article, naturally that'd be fine, but given the problems with the prior article, I'm sure you understand why I wouldn't be comfortable restoring it. Best, – Toon 15:54, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Given

Hello mate. I need an information for Shay Given's italian page. His official profile says: In February 2003, Shay made the shortlist for the FAPL's 10 Seasons Award under the category 'Save of the Decade', the save in question being his magnificent leap to his left to turn away Kevin Phillip's goal bound effort in the Tyne-Wear derby at Sunderland on 24 February 2002. Do you know that? --Exorcist90 (talk) 17:29, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I remember reading about that... it is backed up by his Newcastle profile page. It seems to be in a few other sources too. – Toon 17:35, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Okok but "made the shortlist"... what does that means? --Exorcist90 (talk) 17:52, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
Ah right I see. The shortlist is a list of saves nominated to win the award; the list is then looked at by a judge, who decides who the winner is. "Making the shortlist" means his save was one of those the judge had to choose from, but the judge chose a different save from the list. Does that make sense? – Toon 17:59, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
You're right; in fact the winner was Schmeichel. Thank you! Bye! --Exorcist90 (talk) 18:04, 11 November 2009 (UTC)
No problem. – Toon 18:05, 11 November 2009 (UTC)

Majorstuen (band) article

Hello, noticed the article I posted about Majorstuen (band) was deleted due to alligations of copyright violations (http://www.womex.com/virtual/norwegian_music/majorstuen).

The article at the link as showed above is also written and posted by me, and I therefore hold the rights to its contents. It's also very likely to see the contents of this article published at other information sites, as it is a band biography.

Deletion of 'The MadHatters'

Hello, About a week ago the article named "The MadHatters" was deleted citing G12 as well as G7 and G11. This stated that some of the material under the 'History' section of this article was copied from http://www.casa.org/node/2058. In fact, the information on http://www.casa.org/node/2058 was provided to the Contemporary A Cappella Society by The UW MadHatters as profile/biographical information. It was created by the MadHatters and can also be seen on their website http://www.uwmadhatters.com/content/view/madhatters_in_history/. This fact was posted on the Talk:The MadHatters page after CorenSearchBot notified me (the page's creator) of the possible copyright infringement. Because this information was created by The MadHatters and provided to http://www.casa.org/node/2058, it should not be considered copyright infringement. I would greatly appreciate your time and consideration in the matter of hopefully undeleting this article. Thanks Bernecker (talk) 00:47, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Ballymacoll Stud

Hi,

I have sent 2 emails to permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org regarding Ballymacoll Stud and I have had no reply. The page is still marked as suspect. Is there anything more I can do? Thanks Ballymacoll (talk) 14:35, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Hi. I'm not Toon, but I do have access to those e-mails. :) Let me see if I can find yours. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:37, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Robert Elsie's permissions

Hey, please don't delete the article! The sense of the permission is very clear: He gave it under the terms of any copyleft license, while GFDL is mentioned as Wikipedia's license of that time. (It doesn't matter to him is it under GFDL or CC-BY-SA or any other copyleft license.) I'll contact him again, but I don't know how long it would be needed for him to give a response. --millosh (talk (meta:)) 05:22, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

I've got CC-BY-SA permissions from Robert Elsie, too. Permissions are valid for the sites: --millosh (talk (meta:)) 12:53, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
I've sent email to permissions-en. --millosh (talk (meta:)) 12:53, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

I may have edited this article (which you deleted as copyvio) a bit at some point, can't remember - but wouldn't have done a copyvio myself. Could you let me have a copy of the article so I can replace it with a non-copyvio version, please? It may have had cats, coords, etc so it would save effort. Parts of it are grade 1 listed, so it merits an article. Thanks. PamD (talk) 08:28, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

The article consisted soley of text copied from [2]. It was only edited by User:Shawaj1989 on 21 November. It linked to [3], which may be useful if you wish to create a new article. I hope this helps. – Toon 16:47, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Notability of Mike Sholars, false accusations against Marco Schreyl

Hi! You may remember our conversation about Mike Sholars on the article's discussion page concerning his notability. Please take note of the article's creator's revert of my good-faith edit, stating that Mike Sholars had been misquoted and apparently never played for the Barcelona Dragons. Since all my edits regarding his questioned notability had been reverted, including my attempts to contact the article's creator, and have even been called a vandal (which I certainly am not), I'm at my wits' end. I just don't wanna be the guy who creates less articles than he nominates for deletion, so the article's fate now is in your hands. In the German wikipedia, I would ask the related portal, but the sports portal's talk pages here seem to be much less frequented.

Another issue that's concerning me is the vandalism in the article Marco Schreyl that I've just detected. To me these apparently false accusations are a case of defamation, and its originator should be prosecuted. I don't know if there's a formal way to report something like that other than going to the police, so I just inform you about it in this way.

Btw, are you aware of the fact that we created our user accounts on exactly the same day?

Best regards, --Axolotl Nr.733 (talk) 13:58, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Hello again. I'll address each of these points one at a time. Firstly, the serious matter at Marco Schreyl. Wikipedia's strict policy on biographies of living people is the relevant document here; we cannot host contentious material about living people unless it is well referenced. The statement you removed was clearly contentious and unsourced - you did the right thing by removing it. I had a look for sources, but couldn't find anything either - if you see something like this in the future, cite WP:BLP in the edit summary when removing it, and report it to the administrators' noticeboard if you get reverted. You can drop a {{subst:uw-blp}} on their talk page too. As for the defamation issue, I am not a lawyer, but presumably the only person who could take legal action against the editor for that would be Schreyl himself, and he would need to prove actual damage. There's nothing further that can be done on-Wiki; as it has not been re-added, the removal seems to have resolved the situation. If you see it added again, leave a note here or at WP:AN and we can take further action such as blocking the editor or protecting the article.
As for the Scholars article, I suggest that you start a discussion on the article talk page asking User:EuroNews why they believe that the subject was misquoted and if they have any proof of it, and drop a note on their talk page poining them there. On Wikipedia silence implies consent. If they refuse to enter discussion and continue reverting you, that constitutes edit warring, which is a blockable offence - bring it back to my attention. As I stated earlier, I believe that the subject meets our notability guidelines, but if you still don't, don't be shy about taking the article to AfD, if you have a compelling case to make.

As for the date - that certainly is curious! – Toon 16:13, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your prompt answer! I think I'm going to inform Mr. Schreyl's management, although I could not find any indication that anyone on the net has picked the story up, so there probably isn't any further damage. According to the article traffic statistics, the article has been viewed several hundred times since the contentious edit. So let's just hope that no reader has actually believed these accusations, and that no one holds Wikipedia responsible for not having reverted it immediately.
As for the article on Mr. Sholars, I actually don't expect to receive any support by User:EuroNews. But if I started an AfD discussion, the chances that a real expert on American football in Europe, especially Scandinavia, would show up there are very small. In the German Wikipedia, there's an attempt to list all professional and semi-professional sports leagues in the world. I could suggest to start something like that here, too, but the problem is that, in my eyes, this attempt has failed miserably in the German Wikipedia so far and it would probably be even worse here, because, as I stated above, the sports portal's talk pages seem to be little frequented, which is why no consensus would be found. That's why I still prefer a notability tag, so the need for an expert to judge Sholar's notability isn't as urgent as it would be in the case of an AfD discussion. --Axolotl Nr.733 (talk) 17:20, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

Hello Toon05! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 939 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Ronald Kreer - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL  Done
  2. Dieter Erler - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 04:51, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Hello Mr Bot. If you were a person, I'd point you to the fact that Dieter Erler died in 1998, as stated in the article. As you are a bot, I won't. – Toon 19:09, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Glen Hills Primary School

I started an article on Glen Hills Primary School, by copying the opening page of the school prospectus.

I quickly received a Copyright Violation message. I saw two options from here. One involved filling in the appropriate Copyright release documents, the later changing the text of the article. I choose the later, I thought I had changed it sufficiently to overcome any violation, since the warning did not come back.

I am a Governor of the school. I am in continual contact with the Headmaster (who is the original author of the prospectus). If you can return the article, I can either change it further to remove its similarity to the original prospectus or arrange for the Creative Commons documents to be completed by the Headmaster.

Could you please advise? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dave Barnett (talkcontribs) 10:29, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Image deletion

Hi Toon05, you recently deleted an image as F8 (on commons) - see here. Do you know the name of the commons image or did you intend this to go as F9 (Copyright) ? I note that the uploader has reuploaded it and I've listed it at PUI - Peripitus (Talk) 05:52, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

Oops, that should have been F9. I must have clicked the wrong line in Twinkle. – Toon 13:23, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

claimed otrs permission

Hi Toon, good to see your still around, I would like someone involved in pics to have a look at the pics on Nelson_Antonio_Denis this article, there has been a lot of issues and the up loader is indef'd, it appears he is editing again, or rather block evading sock as User_talk:KHamsun but that is not the big issue, I will sock report him soon, there is a claim of copyright sent to otrs but I am doubtful and have re tagged and the new account has removed my templates, there is a claim of ownership and the subject is in the pics which says to me that the photographer has the copyright, the original uploader User_talk:MBernal615 uploaded multiple copy vios and you can see the situation from his talkpage, I would like any claims regarding this situation getting a close look. Off2riorob (talk) 21:18, 28 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi. It's similarly good to see that you're still here :). I work primarily with text copyright issues and my level of clue over images is far lower than the just-about-sufficient things I know about text, unfortunately. You are correct, however, that ordinarily the photographer is the owner of the copyright of photographs, not the subject — unless there's an explicit agreement in place which assigns copyright elsewhere. Unless the uploader has proved that such an agreement exists in the email he sent to OTRS, the photographs will presumably have to go. Unfortunately I don't have access to the OTRS system either (it would make my time playing with copyright violations far easier); I'll go and ask the ever-pestered Moonriddengirl to take a look or refer it to a more knowledgeable image-OTRSer. There's also Wikipedia:Media copyright questions and Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files if the OTRS doesn't check out. – Toon 18:54, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Actually, I decided to go to the image-friendly J Milburn instead, see: User_talk:J_Milburn#Image_OTRS_request.... – Toon 19:05, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Toon, congratulations on Newcastle United's fine display of football this year. Off2riorob (talk) 19:14, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
Glad I could help, even if it was essentially passing the buck! – Toon 20:01, 2 March 2010 (UTC)
I have found two OTRS tickets. For future reference, they are 2010021210043579 and 2010021210043515. However, I'm calling bullshit- I am fairly certain they are fake. The user concerned has uploaded numerous problem images and apparently made use of sockpuppets, it would seem they have stretched to the point of using fake OTRS tickets also. I am going to delete these images at this time, but I am willing to dig deeper if anyone feels it is appropriate. J Milburn (talk) 01:42, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Also, I strongly recommend you file a quick SPI case concerning this user. I'd do it myself, but I am rushing off right now. The evidence seems satisfactory. J Milburn (talk) 01:47, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Scratch that, user blocked. J Milburn (talk) 01:56, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Plenty of action Toon, User:Avraham has blocked the template remover as a sock and User:J Milburn has rejected the copyright claims as likely unfounded, thanks to all. Off2riorob (talk) 02:23, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Ah, the night shift took care of it. Thanks J Milburn and Avraham. – Toon 13:02, 3 March 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I thought it was, too, but I wanted a second opinion. I'll close at the day at WP:CP until it comes back around. And how are you, by the way? --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:48, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

No problem. I'm good thanks; far less stressed than previously. Just trying to get back in the wiki-groove now. :) How about yourself? By the amount of traffic on your talk page, I'm assuming as busy as ever? – Toon 16:58, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Busier. :/ We are approaching 30 CCIs, I believe. MLauba is a good help at CP, though, and we have quite a few more people working those CCIs, which is immeasurably cheering. :) Still and all, somedays it feels like it's going to just keep getting bigger...and bigger...and bigger.... --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:03, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Whoa! Talk about busy; you just popped up all over my watchlist! Did you just do an accidentally mass revert or something? :D --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:05, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Speaking of getting the wiki-groove back, I think I still have a way to go yet. Mass rollback script is getting removed this instant; I just wiped out MLauba's last god knows how many edits. LOL. Hopefully all reversed now. I think a WP:TROUT may be in order. 17:07, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Did you obscure your username from shame? :D I didn't even know that was possible, and I'm glad. I could totally see something like that happening to me. :O Recently, somebody accidentally reverted a note I left on my own talk page; a few months ago, I inadvertently reverted a note somebody left on somebody else's. The idea of being able to automatically revert them all? Yikes. (I know mass rollback is possible, but I can never remember where to go to do it...and wouldn't dare risk doing it automatically!) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:43, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Definitely head in hands - I've used it effectively once, and accidentally set it off twice, so I don't think I'm to be trusted with it. The first time I rolled back my last 500 edits... It's good to hear there's more help for CCIs, I know they can be pretty heavy - I find SCV has more than enough analysis for my poor brain! – Toon 18:25, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

thehamptons.com

I would like to find out who I can talk to about being blocked from the wiki page on the hamptons. I was blocked apparently for "spamming" but actually I was the first to write thousands of manual html code starting back in 1995 for "information about the hamptons" - now it seems I have a ton of competition not the least of which is wiki. Wiki is a cool concept and I get that it's not supposed to be commercial - but yet Google is now buying wiki? In the meantime many of my new competitors have listed themselves in my place while I have conveniently been banned by one or more of them. I am local, I am not a giant. I am a single mom who has worked very hard before any of them even knew what the internet was when it was called "the information super highway" and the "world wide web" : ) Maybe I sound repetitive but hey, if you had worked for the #1 position and HAD it for more then 14 years until wiki came along you as well as all the giants you'd be arguing your position too (i think). Now my new argument is if you've banned me for being commercial then you should ban all of these too. THOSE ALL run advertising and are trying to kill my position and you guys are helping them! If you you are going to allow them, then may I post TheHamptons.com/indians which I also wrote w/documented information about our local tribes. I have tried REALLY hard to provide interesting community information since 1995 (single-handed - no big staff) and it really WAS the FIRST website for all our big community organizations like the Parrish Art Museum & our environmental watchdog Group for the South Fork - we were their sole web presence for over TEN years!! We were the 1st for Guild Hall, Hampton Classic, Hamptons International Film Festival, the World Affairs Council at Southampton College and many, many others. I just think if there was one website that has from the beginning been dedicated to culture it's been thehamptons.com. I did it all for free and it was a labor of love which deserves recognition - rather then being blocked as spam by the new kids on the block.

  1. New York Times article "Real Estate 101 in the Hamptons
  2. Vanity Fair article "Studios by the Sea"
  3. The Most Expensive Golf Courses in the Country per Forbes magazine
  4. 27east.com -- the website of local Hamptons newspapers The Southampton Press and The East Hampton Press

I left a message on my talk page last month but nobody's gotten back to me. Thanks for reading this post...if you did. LiziObolensky 23:26, 9 March 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by LiziObolensky (talkcontribs)

Hi Toon. I have begun work re-writing this per your comments. I would appreciate your comments as it progresses. Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tuckerj1976 (talkcontribs) 06:37, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi Toon, thank you very much for your reply and your kind words. I think I have done with this for now and thus would be keen for your admin associate to review it and hopefully "release it into the wild" (assuming there are no further issues of course). I am keen for it to get out there and for WIKI to do what it can do best: build upon it and improve it. Again, thank you very much for helping with this. Tucker talk 18:10, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
Toon: Thank you very much indeed. Your help with this was great and has helped me greatly understand what is required when creating a new article. Thank you! On another note I think originally the section entitled "Media Career" was not included in the Copyright issue? I would be keen to add this back as I think it provides more background on her "fame" (at least in the UK). This is very important I feel given that she is so unknown today and helps establish further her place in operatic history. However, I am reluctant to simply re-instate "just in case" (I have also made some slight alterations to it). I have added to the talkpage however [[5]] for review. I really do appreciate you are busy (I have seen the Wikipedia:Copyright Problems page!) but if you could have a quick look to see if it OK please, when ever you get the change? Again, thank you.Tucker talk 19:38, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, having done so many images and other obvious deletions that check just wasn't on my mental "checklist".

Thanks for the note though, definitely will be now :) Don't mind helping out SCV as well as the other bits and pieces. I must warn you though, I tend to flit between things, bit here, bit there, but I'll give it a go. - Jarry1250 [Humorous? Discuss.] 16:54, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Hi. Are you able to compare Talk:Richard Levao/Temp with [6] (be warned: it loads slowly)? It may be perfectly fine; may be too close. Even though I didn't tag that one, I would prefer to get another admin to review his rewrites and MLauba can't get the archive to load at all. If you can help, it would be appreciated. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 15:18, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Sure. I'll let it load while I go and make myself a cup of tea. Hopefully I'll be able to compare in a bit. – Toon 16:31, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
Right, loaded.  Checking... – Toon 16:51, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Hrmph, OK. I think that some more work still needs to be done, to be honest. I think it's very evident that one source has been drawn heavily on for the majority of this article, with other references to verify the information added after the fact.

Extended content
Article: Levao legal practice included Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act issues, compliance with state Spill Act directives, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act waste disposal, and citizen suit litigation.

Broadvox

Toon05,

Can you please assist me on how to have this article stay on wikipedia. I have asked for help in the past and would like this maintained. I am not trying to advertise the company, but would like to have general information about broadvox online.

PLEASE if you can assist me in getting this setup without "violating" wikipedia standards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kappasig221 (talkcontribs)

OK, firstly, I've removed the text you posted because it was copied from places on the web and we don't appear to have permission to use it. The most pressing concern is that the text appears to be a copyright violation; it looks to be taken from a press release, and we can't use content such as that without permission from the holder - although even if we had permission, the promotional language would make it an inappropriate base for an article. Rhetoric such as "worldwide leader," "trusted by more than 200 telecommunications carriers..." "provides the reliability, security, and quality of service..." are clearly not neutral - you would not want to find such things in the Encyclopaedia Britannica and Wikipedia isn't a medium for advertising. First, check that your company meets our notability guidelines for organisations. If it doesn't, it may get deleted. You will need reliable, independent sources (not your company website, not PRWeb) to back up everythign in the article. Then, just start with the basics and perhaps try to be modest. For example:

Broadvox is an American commercial Voice over Internet Protocol provider headquartered in Dallas, Texas. It was formed in 1588 following the merger of British confectionist Cadbury and the American plastic cheese manufacturer Kraft. It is the 3 billionth-largest communication provider in the United States, and 7 trillionth largest in the World.[INDEPENDENT SOURCE TO VERIFY FACT] Outside of North America, it operates in Zanzibar, Lesotho and Fredonia and employs seven people globally.

Except, of course, with real facts. Avoid hyperbole, do not copy from external sources without verified permission, and back up all of your assertions with citations from reliable sources. I recommend reading Wikipedia:Your first article and the neutrality policy before starting. I'll leave a template with some links on your talk page, which you may find useful. Take a look at BAE Systems as an example of one of the best business articles on Wikipedia. I hope this helps. I'm going away for the next couple of days, so may not see any further messages for a while. If you need help, you may find it at the Wikipedia:New contributors' help page. Best, – Toon 22:45, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Updates to copyright instructions

Hi. Based on some feedback I've received, I've updated the instructions at WP:SCV and WP:CP. I've left a more indepth explanation at Wikipedia talk:Suspected copyright violations#Header update along with a request for feedback. As we try to get more people involved in this work, we want to be sure instructions are clear. Given your work, your input there would be very much appreciated. :) Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:46, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

Have a moment?

Hi. I recently cleaned up the article Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for copyvios from multiple sources. The contributor does not seem to be contesting most of the material, but is indicating that one passage in particular is reverse infringement. I can't verify the date of this material, as Wayback seems to ignore most of these sites. If you have an opportunity, can you review the conversation here and here and offer any feedback you might have? --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:23, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Hello! Yes, I'll come and have a look - give me half an hour or so to find my feet in the situation. :) – Toon 13:29, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. :) No rush here; the content is not currently displayed and can be returned at any time if reverse infringement can be verified. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:34, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

That was actually a mis-click on my part, I've reverted myself. In line with our polices, you should provide a reliable source to back up the information - after all, you could be anyone. – Toon 20:47, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I appreciate I could be anyone, but Sue doesn't do technology and so asked me, and probably wouldn't be minded to try and "prove" who she is or what her details are - but it was irritating her them being wrong. I'll see if I can find a public reference to back it up and cite. Also hadn't updated one occurrence in the text, so have modded that one too. rgds. glongbot —Preceding unsigned comment added by Glongbot (talkcontribs) 21:54, 8 May 2010 (UTC)

Seoul Survivors

I was going to create a page for the Seoul Survivors Rugby Football Club, but there was a message at the top of the page that said that a Seoul Survivors page has already been deleted and that I should check with the Admin who deleted it before proceeding. Hi. You need to make sure that any additions you make to the page don't sound like advertising; as an encyclopedia, you need to go out of your way to be neutral, stick to factual statements which add to a balanced view of the topic, and they should be cited to reliable sources like good newspapers, journals etc.. Try not to add what may be seen as link spam. I hope this helps :) – Toon 23:25, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

TechnoBuffalo Page

When I went to go and create an actual factual and informative TechnoBuffalo page I was notified that it had been deleted. TechnoBuffalo is now a show on Revision3, a top YouTube channel (Jon4Lakers), and also contributes to CNBC. This has made it one of the rising stars in the tech blog world. Seeing as many other YouTubers/Revison3 shows and many tech blogs have wiki pages I think it would only be fair to allow the page to become able to edit again. I promise I will not leave it orphaned or copyright from the source. RyanSomelofske 04:52, 19 July 2011 (UTC)rmsome — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rmsome (talkcontribs)

Comment on Sue Nye article

Dear Toon, Firstly, I'm very sorry for having to edit/vandalise this and not make my own subcategorie, but that comment you sent me has nothing to do with me. That person must be illegally using my IP address to edit your korean person articles. If you must know, I am british, and prefer cars and video games over korean politics! I am also only 14 years old, and the only articles I have ever edited are Toca Race Driver's article and Formula One 2003's article. If you need any more proof, or want to earbash/punish me, my Youtube account is AlexGRFan97 and my gmail address is alexgrfan97@gmail.com. Again, I do apologise for having to edit this, but I just want you to know that that guy is not me, and he is using an IP generator to illegally steal mine. Have a good day, yours truly.

Hi. Quite likely, you are now using an IP address that used to be owned by somebody else. Because the IP you used to add this section does not have any messages at all, I looked to see when Toon left messages about this article for IPs. It looks like he left these two: User talk:77.86.99.156 and User talk:85.176.137.18. Both of those are dated all the way back to May of 2010.
This happens sometimes when people edit without logging in. We recommend that if you want to avoid getting notices for people who are not you, you register for an account. You can see how at Help:Register. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:41, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

Information icon Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative permissions of users who have been inactive for one year (i.e. administrators who have not made any edits or logged actions in over one year). As a result of this discussion, your administrative permissions will be removed pending your return if you do not return to activity within the next month. If you wish to have these permissions reinstated should this occur, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e. as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised, that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions, and that you have not been inactive for a three year period of time). If you remain inactive for a three year period of time, including the present year you have been inactive, you will need to request reinstatement at WP:RFA. This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Userfication request that does not seem automatic

You are listed at Category:Wikipedia administrators willing to provide copies of deleted articles and since I don't want to inundate the people whose names start with the letter a, I have jumped to the Ts (given my username). I have made a request at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive262#Userfication of deleted and salted content. The article has been deleted through AFD twice and the first time was upheld at DRV. The first version was 49KB readable prose, while the second version was 33KB readable prose. Although many have argued the second was a recreation of the first, two separate admins reversed their own WP:G4 deletions upon further review. It seems that a third admin speedily declined another G4 although I am unable to see the history right now and did not notice this during the second AFD. I have a long history at successful recreations (12 articles now at WP:GA are formerly deleted articles that I have recreated, including "Cat Daddy" which was deleted 4 previous times). The second AFD seems to be an indictment against any future recreation of the article, which is befuddling to me. I would like to learn something from this seemingly odd result. I have requested a userfication that includes history and talk page so that I can investigate policy/guidelines. So far the best userfication offer was by Floquenbeam to restore it for a fixed 2 week expiry. I have stated that 2 months would be more appropriate than 2 weeks because no policy discussion can be guaranteed to conclude within 2 weeks and I have several that I would like to pursue. Floquenbeam, has stated his hesitance is based on assumptions of bad faith regarding my intentions and that I have made a phantom "refusal to agree not to bug people about tagging or edits they made to the article prior to deletion" which I never made (I was actually concerned about the 2 week expiry and forgot to assent to the request). I am unable to discuss things with Floquenbeam who has not edited in 3 days (since 20:43, 28 May 2014). As a frequent recreator of content, I would like a chance to become a better editor by examining the various policies related to this outcome with the content available for illustration and instruction.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 14:20, 31 May 2014 (UTC)

Just so you know, Tony has forum-shopped this request at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Log/2014_May_6 and then Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Userfication_of_deleted_and_salted_content where he received answers he disliked. He has since requested on 9 different admin talk pages, including: User_talk:TParis, User_talk:Thingg, User_talk:Titoxd, User_talk:Thespian, User talk:Tawker, User talk:The Placebo Effect, User talk:Thehelpfulone, User_talk:Toon05, & finally User_talk:ThaddeusB who restored the article on request to User:TonyTheTiger/Jabari Parker's high school career. I apologize for spamming this message, but since Tony has failed to let you know that he has forum-shopped to successfully get the outcome he wanted, I felt you all deserved to know that you do not need to respond to his request.
