Expansion of Alex Gilbert

Hi Werldwayd,

Last time we talked I have added many more new sources for Alex Gilbert. There is so much I can have a look at for the article. I have added these but I am sure that we could expand the article even more. What do you think? Do you want me to link you with the new sources? --TheDomain (talk) 01:27, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Lemonade (Adam Friedman song) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. File source problem with File:Eyewitness-the-film.jpg

Thank you for uploading File:Eyewitness-the-film.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. A tag has been placed on Tim Schou, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. this old house collapsible seasons

Not sure if this is a edit done by you or was removed by a member that I can't see their edit but your collapsible sections somehow have been removed. I did make a edit which notated the change of host from 2002 to 2003 from Steve Thomas to Kevin O'Connor.

I was wondering if this is something you may have removed and I just can't see that or if it was removed by someone else. It looked better the way you had it instead of the way it's at now because the other way you could shrink the seasons and find the season you want quicker.

Actually when this listing was part of the main page of This Old House, the page was extremely long and very tedious. But with moving of all this into a separate List page, I am neutral actually whether collapsing is actually needed or not. Either way the listing is ok with me, and I ave no preference, but I am aware that in separate listings of TV episodes, usually the presentations are kept intact rather than collapsed. werldwayd (talk) 01:02, 13 November 2017 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

Hi. I see in a recent addition to United Nations Detention Unit you included material from People detained by the International Criminal Court. That's okay, but you have to give attribution so that our readers are made aware that you copied the prose rather than wrote it yourself. I've added the attribution for this particular instance. Disputed non-free use rationale for File:The-Plain-Truth-August 1983.png

Thank you for uploading File:The-Plain-Truth-August 1983.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 13:30, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Werldwayd. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Groupe Valentine Inc.

I would like to congratulate your hard work on trying to improve the article MTY Food Group and other relate articles. However, some of your work would be quickly undone by other editors since your new article about Groupe Valentine Inc. is is almost identical to the recently deleted Valentine (restaurant) article that failed WP:AFD per discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Valentine (restaurant). You may want to read the comments and try to improve the article by addressing the mentioned deficiencies before the article gets deleted a second time. - 68.50.32.85 (talk) 05:03, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

Thanks User talk:68.50.32.85 for the reminder. I was absolutely not aware of the discussion on Valentine (restaurant). Had I known, I wouldn't have created the page in the first place. What I felt when editing MTY though was that all those details about Valentine in a MTY Food Group article unlike tens of other MTY brands just gave undue emphasis to Valentine, which I must admit is a very very small portion of the MTY organization. So why all that detail there. So I just moved Valentine restaurant to a separate page, that's all. I would be very comfortable if the whole new Valentine article is deleted. What we now have in MTY article in a brief paragraph is more than enough I believe to cover the subject. werldwayd (talk) 08:54, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
Good to know that you understand the situation. The reason why the Valentine section of the MTY article had much more detail than the other brands is due to the decision of the AfD to merge the Valentine article into a section of the MTY article in the hope that a future editor might expand the article enough to survive another delete attempt. Since Valentine is based in Quebec, it is my opinion that it would be very difficult for an English speaking editor to expand the article without having the ability to read the Quebec-based French language news sources. (BTW, it might not be a bad idea to look at an article's recent editing history prior to performing major work on an existing article since that might help you avoid wasting time on something that could be undone a few days later.) - 68.50.32.85 (talk) 02:19, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Werldwayd. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Addison Agen, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Addison Agen to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

Hello, Werldwayd. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Addison Agen, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

American Idol (ABC TV series)

Just a note that I have proposed a move of the article to American Idol (season 16). Thinking about it, I think that the proposal might have been premature as I think starting a discussion first might have been better as there is the wider question how to see the reboot season and its relation to the old one, but given that I have started it, it might as well go to completion as any discussion can be conducted there. I can see argument on both sides, although I'm inclined to continue with the old numbering, it can get complicated if ABC starts the numbering afresh. Hzh (talk) 18:38, 6 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi

Could you please take a look at the article about Johannes Brost. I have made a complete re-write of the article and could really need a second set of eyes to look at it. Regards,--BabbaQ (talk) 22:57, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

The Harris J page

My dear friend, I hope you are well. A page on a young Muslim musician, Harris J, needs careful monitoring. Someone seems committed to turning it into an unreferenced fan page, with non-encyclopedic and promotional information. I wonder if you could please assist me in keeping this page neutral in tone, well referenced and accurate. Thanks so much. Best regards,George Custer's Sabre (talk) 05:37, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

Absolutely User:GorgeCustersSabre. You know a couple of years back we had the exact same problem with another Awakening Records artist called Maher Zain and we had similar issues about claims made and success everything. What I notice is that Awakening Records artists enjoy support from their very avid fans and this reflects badly on some of these pages. Harris J has turned into one of them. Mind you with this very young artist, it was bound to translate into all excessive editing of claims by novice editors. I will be of assistance and we cooperate together on this for sure. Thanks for keeping the contact. As Harris J's last single states as a title "Save Me From Myself" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPFgyHZtih4, it might be a literally accurate LOL But still, it is a beautiful performance and a charming music video I must admit.... werldwayd (talk) 07:20, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
You did good cleaning it up. The only fact that we could safely add is that he won the Awakening Records competition and was signed to the label as a result. See Awakening Records website confirming this: "Having entered the social media powered Awakening Talent Contest in 2013 - in which multi platinum winning songwriter and artist Maher Zain was a judge - Harris J went on to win the competition and signed an exclusive record deal with Awakening Records". http://www.awakening.org/harrisj/ That's my feeling that his winning and being signed is solid. My dear friend, I remember fondly your excellent work on Maher Zain. I think you're absolutely right about artists signed to Awakenings. Their fans are unusually zealous. In the case of a very young, handsome and talented singer it is inevitable that we will face some puffery etc. But let's do our best as editors to keep the page neutral in tone, well referenced and encyclopedic. Until Harris J attracts some media coverage in third-party RS, there's little more we can add at this stage. So far the mainstream media hasn't written about him. Thanks so much.
