I noticed on a lot of you web references, you aren't keeping all of the information necessary in case someone wants to retrieve the page in the future and the URL is down. Try using Template:Cite web and try to fill in as many variables as possible, that way future editors won't have to go searching. Sadads (talk) 19:38, 22 July 2010 (UTC)

Spectral risk measure

You said...

I noticed you put the notability tag on spectral risk measure. I have decided over the next few days to try to improve that page to the best of my ability (since I am currently working on my PhD with research on risk measures). The principal concerns here are: (i) broadly that it does not presently meet the requirements of WP:LEAD in providing enough context for a general reader (not familiar with any of the broad context of the topic) to understand what the topic of the article is about ... you should try to say something about what it is used for and in what specific fields, and why it is important (there should be something about these things in the lead section, expanding in later sections if necessary); (ii) that it lacked references related to actually using this theory, or even to anyone else than the original authors working with the theory ...the reference recently added seems unpublished and it would be good to be able to improve on this. In general you should follow-up and read the links presented in the notability template box to give an idea of things to be thought about. Basically, remember that Wikipedia is for a general readership and should not be treatesd in exactly the same way as a journal article (where it is nowadays common to assume a pre-existing close understanding of the topic of an article). You might like to see WP:MSM for guidance on mathematics-type articles on Wikipedia (particularly the stuff about structuring an article, near the start). Lots of existing articles don't come particularly close to fulfilling all the stated requirements, so don't worry too much about them in detail .... just make a few improvements for the points raised above and you can remove the template, then improve the article further or leave it for others to make additions.
