Bulk category removal

{{Infobox US Supreme Court case}} now automatically places articles into Category:United States Supreme Court cases. This is a request to remove the explicit [[Category:United States Supreme Court cases]] from mainspace pages that transclude that template. It's about 3300 articles. DMacks (talk) 22:20, 26 June 2021 (UTC)

@DMacks: If you'll update the template documentation with the information on the automatic categorization, I'll open a BRFA for this task. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 02:21, 27 June 2021 (UTC)
Done, at Template:Infobox US Supreme Court case/doc#Tracking categories. There are probably two more conversions of manual cats to automatic for this template in the works. Would you prefer I make separate requests for each when they are implemented, or to defer this one and file a single multi-request when we're done? DMacks (talk) 03:37, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

Bulk XfD request 4 July 2021

Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2021_July_4#Category:Holocaust_deniers_by_nationality contains 17 categories that are proposed for merger. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 21:54, 4 July 2021 (UTC)

N.B.: Here's the list of pages proposed for merger. Note that part of the discussion is a proposal to create a new legitimate subcategory Category:European Holocaust deniers. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 22:05, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
LaundryPizza03 honestly I don't feel like it would be much quicker to do this using AWB or a bot than just manually. I have a bot task that I can run if you ever have like 50+ pages that you need tagged though. --Trialpears (talk) 23:13, 4 July 2021 (UTC)
Done, as well as the previous request. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 17:50, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Extended content

B-boys and B-girls

Following the successful moves (see Talk:B-Boy (wrestler)) of

all incoming links in the article space should be retargeted to the new titles (since they now point to dab pages). Thanks in advance. No such user (talk) 14:00, 8 July 2021 (UTC)

I've just noticed that most links to B-Girl came from Template:Hip-hop_dance so the list of articles will be much shorter. No such user (talk) 14:10, 8 July 2021 (UTC)
@No such user: Someone else has fixed all the article links. I fixed Wikipedia:WikiProject Professional wrestling. GoingBatty (talk) 00:56, 9 July 2021 (UTC)

Completion of Bucureşti → București task

@Ark25: For posterity reasons, I'm reporting completion of a very gradual conversion of "Bucureşti" instances to "București" as part of an old task now among this project page's archives. I expect the task's requests for changes to instances of "Argeş", "Maramureş", and "Mureş" Counties remain to be completed. —ADavidB 14:20, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

[[Am I the Only One]] -> [[Am I the Only One (Dierks Bentley song)|Am I the Only One]] Disambiguation. Ten Pound Hammer(What did I screw up now?) 23:54, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

 Done 13 changes made. Dawnseeker2000 00:30, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

After the move of Anthony Sullivan to Anthony Sullivan (rugby), Special:WhatLinksHere/Anthony Sullivan now displays 56 articles that should be retargeted to Anthony Sullivan (rugby). This time, I manually fixed the incoming template links, so this should be the definitive list. No such user (talk) 11:36, 12 July 2021 (UTC)

Done by Niceguyedc, as far as I can tell. No such user (talk) 07:32, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

Bulk typo and formatting cleanup requst

The user NSSIAS recently made a bunch of (apparently manual) highly repetitive edits to a fairly large number of pages.

These all seem to take the form of something like below:

In Europe, Faxonius virilis is included since 2016 in the list of Invasive Alien Species of Union concern (the Union list).[1] This implies that this species cannot be imported, bred, transported, commercialized, or intentionnaly released into the environment in the whole of the European Union.[2]

Could someone with AWB permissions go through their edit history and patch up these edits with a REGEX or something?

I suggest the following changes:

  • "Intentionnaly" —> "Intentionally".
  • Disambiguate the wording for "list of Invasive Alien Species of Union concern (the Union list)"— That's all one title. The source is formatted a bit weirdly. "List" and "concern" aren't capitalized in it, and every reference after the first one just calls it "the Union list".
  • Maybe capitalize "list" and "concern", or italicize the title, or put it in quotes— IDK which WP:MOS rule applies to scientific and regulatory works like this.
  • Remove "(the Union list)"? That seems like a less official abbreviation that was introduced in the source only for the purpose of referring to it later in the source (which these articles don't currently do).
  • Maybe "is included since 2016 in" —> "has been included since 2016 in" or "was added in 2016 to"?
  • Maybe change "implies"? I'm not sure what the best verbiage for a legal stipulation would be. "Implies" feels soft/synth-y to me, but "stipulates" too formal/specific and "means" too casual.
  • Maybe better align the assertions to the source?
  • The first source merely says "restrictions on", rather than "cannot".
  • The second source says "shall not", but it specifies restrictions that aren't entirely the same as the current article texts.
  • The source says "kept", which the article doesn't mention.
  • The source says "permitted to reproduce", while the article says "bred", which to me as a layman seems to imply more intentionality.
  • The source says "intentionally" in a way that applies to all of the restrictions, whereas the current article text says "intentionnaly" in a way that only applies to "released into the environment".
  • "Commercialized" may be broader than "placed on the market" but narrower than "used or exchanged".
  • "In Europe" as a separate clause before a comma feels clunky to me. Maybe it could say "[...] on the the European Union's List of Invasive species [...]" or something instead?
  • If you're going to look over all the edits anyway, maybe check if they fit in the right sections? IDK how the automated tools work.

Overall, maybe:

Faxonius virilis has been included since 2016 on the European Union's List of Invasive Species of Union Concern. This prohibits the species from being intentionally imported, transported, kept, bred, commercialized, or released.

Anyway, the point is that here's a large number of edits that IMO introduced potentially valuable content, but which could benefit from an easily automated mass rewrite.

@EpicPupper: Here's a tentative REGEX to extract the species names and years out of the existing text, and an example of how to use that to rewrite the passage en masse:
Search string:

In Europe, (.*) is included since ([0-9]{4}) in the list of Invasive Alien Species of Union concern \(the Union list\)\.(.*) This implies that.*Union\.

Replacement string:

\1 has been included since \2 on the European Union's List of Invasive Species of Union Concern.\3 This prohibits the species from being intentionally imported, transported, kept, bred, commercialized, or released.

I haven't tested this exhaustively, but it seems to work with both the visual text and the WikiText. I don't have AWB and IDK how its REGEX stuff is handled, so you may have to change some things… Valid backreferences might be "$1", "$2", "$3", instead of "\1", "\2", "\3", at least.
"\1" is the species name, "\2" is the year of listing, and "\3" is the first reference. The second reference doesn't get picked up by the search string, so it gets left alone at the end of the replacement string. You should be able to rewrite the replacement string however you see fit using those backreferences, as long as the search string works.
Intralexical (talk) 16:37, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
@Intralexical, thanks, I'll try to have a go at it with that regex. 🐶 EpicPupper (he/him | talk, FAQ, contribs) 01:59, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

Massive link removal

  1. I've been wasting away some time of my past few evenings cleaning out Wikipedia:Requested articles/music/Performers, bands and songwriters. Now one thing I've been doing manually and that doesn't require much judgement, and thus could be automated, would be the simple removal of dubious sources, such as social media pages and the like. If anybody can set-up AWB to do a run through there and remove any link that is from an unreliable source (such as those appearing on XLinkBot's revert list, or listed as unreliable on RSP). If that's too much, a limited run removing any obvious social media/streaming websites (instagram, facebook, youtube, bandcamp, spotify, itunes, imdb, ...) as well as obvious blogs (wordpress/blogspot) would also be of great help. (example of this kind of stuff)
  2. A separate task would be the conversion of url links to Wikipedia pages (in English or other languages) to regular wiki-syntax. example of what this looks like
@RandomCanadian: Is there a consensus posted somewhere that encourages editors to remove dubious sources from the requests? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 03:21, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
@GoingBatty: There's already a statement that entries without reliable sources ought to be removed. Removing unreliable/dubious sources seems in line with that statement. RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 03:30, 13 August 2021 (UTC)
I've added an example for task no. 2. Cheers, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 12:49, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

Folks, if we set up a bot/awb to remove entire citations by domain, that is pretty serious. Requires broader consensus, BRFA at min. Checking WP:RSP for IMDB for example, it is appropriate for inclusion as an external link, and those might be moved from a citation into the external links section per WP:PRESERVE (policy). YouTube videos are fine so long as they are official which is probably often the case for band articles. Etc.. -- GreenC 14:43, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

@GreenC: This isn't to remove them from articles. It's to remove from the requested articles pages; where such links are far too frequently self-referential spam (often in entries without any additional independent source). RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 14:51, 13 August 2021 (UTC)

Bulk Edit?

I would like to add {{Portal|Idaho}} to all pages in the Category:Idaho... into the "==See also==" section; If NOT already there... If section does not exist, then create and add portal. Edit Summary should read "Per WP:IDAHO Portal Resurrection"
Is there an existing BOT that could help me with this? - Mjquinn_id (talk) 17:48, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

@Mjquinn id: Note that Template:Portal#Location states: "If there is no See also section, you may put it in the External links section instead; there is no need to create a new section just to house this template. If there is no External links section either, just put it below the article text in the place that seems most appropriate." It seems that an AWB user could go to the More... tab, Append {{Portal|Idaho}}, and check the box to "Sort meta data after" (as I did on Area codes 208 and 986). They would need to determine the best way to skip articles that already contact a link. GoingBatty (talk) 18:58, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
@Mjquinn id: Correction: If an AWB user tried to append {{Portal|Idaho}} to the Idaho article using the method above, AWB would not combine it with the existing {{Portal|United States}} due to AWB's order of procedures. Creating a custom module to append the portal might be better, so AWB would then have the opportunity to run general fixes and combine the portals into one template. GoingBatty (talk) 19:14, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
Mjquinn id, I don't think this is a good idea. I'd imagine that there are quite a few articles in subcategories where a portal link would be very low-value. Calliopejen1 (talk) 19:36, 1 September 2021 (UTC)
I can appreciate your thoughts, but I have found (mostly with sports) that rather often, once one gets to the "See also" or "External links" sections, you can be left with a question as to "What else?". It is the whole reason that we place these sections there. I, personally, actually do not appreciate articles without them. I find it extremely rare that any given article should not "lead" to somewhere else; an ancillary topic, a parent topic, some connection to something related. I enjoy articles that have "Portal" to a centralized, concise set of information. A window to all possible links around this topic. All there, ready to take me anywhere. Many projects having bad link to toolserver

Hey all, hoping an AWB master could be deployed to help in the project space. Many, many WikiProject pages have code at the bottom that begins with:

[[tools:~dispenser/cgi-bin/transcluded_changes.py/ . . .

and of course that link is now bad (gives 404 error on toolserver); but since the pages use tools:, this is not really a URL change request. An example use is at WP:WikiProject Geelong#External watchlist.

All instances in the Wikipedia namespace that begin with the above string can be deleted, together with all other characters up until the closing ]]; there is no retcon that will fix it. There are 499 instances. Thanks in advance, UnitedStatesian (talk) 00:44, 24 August 2021 (UTC)

Clean-up after a split

Church cantata was recently split, with most of the content going into List of church cantatas by liturgical occasion. Sadly, per Gerda Arendt on my talk page, this happens to break many incoming links. An example edit should guide you through what needs to be done: find any link to a subsection on Church cantata (so beginning "Church cantata#" or "Church_cantata#") and replace all of those with links to the identically named section on the list. Template:Qur'anic people

Currently Template:Qur'anic people redirects to Template:Characters and names in the Quran but there are still a lot of articles using the old name. Is it possible to use AWB to replace {{Qur'anic people}} by {{Characters and names in the Quran}} in those articles? Marcocapelle (talk) 17:55, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

No, because that's why template redirects exist. Primefac (talk) 18:07, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
@Marcocapelle: An edit just to avoid a template redirect would have no noticeable effect on the rendered page, which is generally considered an insignificant edit that goes against WP:AWBRULES. Infinity (audio)

Please bypass the redirect Infinity (audio), replacing it with its target Infinity Systems in wikilinks, so that the redirect can point to the disambiguation page Infinity (disambiguation) without any incoming links. There are many audio topics called "Infinity" on the disambiguation page, so this generic disambiguator is not useful -- 64.229.90.53 (talk) 22:11, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

@64.229.90.53: I recommend you get consensus for changing that redirect at WP:RFD first. While there are certainly other musical possible targets for "infinity", I find it unlikely that someone would use the parenthetical "audio" for any of the music-related subjects there (looking at the existing pages we have with that disambiguator, all but one refer to audio engineering things or companies, and the other is an obscure audiobook). eviolite (talk) 23:14, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
There's the audio production companies (two record labels, and radio network), and this current target is an audio product company; in addition to the musical recordings -- 64.229.90.53 (talk) 04:13, 25 October 2021 (UTC)
At the risk of creating a Catch-22: if "Infinity (audio)" is an ambiguous term then some of its incoming links may be for other topics. Certes (talk) 23:38, 24 October 2021 (UTC)
@Certes: none of them appear to be, at a quick scan of insource:/\[\[Infinity \(audio\)[|\]]/ (most of the "what links here" links are from {{Samsung Electronics}}). eviolite (talk) 23:59, 24 October 2021 (UTC)

How get AWB to select certain NRHP-listed schools in Colorado?

Hi there... I haven't used AWB for years, but just downloaded it and tried it without success. What am I doing wrong? What I want to do is replace the string "http://pdfhost.focus.nps.gov/docs/NRHP/Text/64500075.pdf" or similar by "https://catalog.archives.gov/id/84127661", and make some manual edits also, in perhaps 100 articles on historic schoolhouses in Colorado. I applied "Make list" to identify the 2638 or so articles within 5 recursive levels of Category:National Register of Historic Places in Colorado. I set Skip to omit articles where text Doesn't contain: "Rural School Buildings in Colorado" (after I first tried setting Skip to where text Doesn't contain: "64500075.pdf", which also failed). I did not put quote marks into the field, should i have? And it will Skip if Page doesn't exist. And then I ran it by selecting Start tab and hitting Start button. It just goes through the list without pausing on any page, while I know it should stop on some pages like "Gas Creek School" and "Coates Creek Schoolhouse". What am I missing, why doesn't it stop?

And also, I don't see how to use the replace function which is apparently under Options / Find and replace. I don't see where to enter the text string to be replaced or where to enter the text to be replaced. I would like for the full string replacement to be done on a given page, with it still allowing me to make other manual changes. Help!

Thanks in advance for any advice offered. :) --Doncram (talk) 00:10, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Update: It partly works, I find, after I further tried two changes:

  • changing my default edit summary so that it did not use quote marks or a semi-colon. My edit summary was something like: 'fix link to MPS "Rural Schools in Colorado"; perhaps other edits too', which I changed to 'fix link to MPS Rural Schools in Colorado and perhaps other edits too'. Though I don't see how or my that would matter. And
  • changing Options to turn off the three types of automatic changes: "Auto tag", "Apply general fixes", and "Unicodify whole page" (though I thought those would just be supplemental changes to be done on a page meeting my criteria, and I believe it is supposed to be good to make those changes in the same edit as a more substantial change, like I am "supposed to" have those done.

Now it stopped on Coates Creek Schoolhouse which I just manually edited. And I let it run to find some more and did a few more edits, but then quit leaving more yet to be addressed. Why did it choose to stop on the right pages now? And still, how can i set up the find and replace? --Doncram (talk) 00:21, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

So my first concern is that you haven't figured out how to do the find and replace, because that is the heart of this task. So you want to set the check mark by "Find and replace" and then click on "Normal settings". Enter just the old URL you are trying to replace as the "Find" column on the first line. Then put the new URL on the same line in the "Replace with" column. That's it, just click OK. Once you are back at the Options tab, check the box to "Skip if no replacement". Under the Skip tab, make sure the bottom radio button for "doesn't exist" is selected, and deselect any of the checkboxes that might be selected by default - they can really only screw up your run. Hit start and use the "Skip" and "Save" buttons to make the changes as each page loads up. It should only stop on the pages that actually have the old URL on it, and you'll be able to make your own judgement whether to replace on that page or not. VanIsaac, MPLL contWpWS 00:38, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Well, I still don't get what made it start stopping on the right pages. This edit from AWB shows that the default summary's usage of semi-colon and quotes doesn't seem to matter. And it is working when the three default Automatic changes are left on. But thank you very much for the instruction on how to do the search and replace! It is working great. :) --Doncram (talk) 01:35, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
@Doncram: Another thing you can do is go to Options > Preferences and select "Enable Logging". After you process a list, you can look at the "Logs" tab to see why AWB skipped a given article, and then tweak your settings appropriately. Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 16:21, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

Adding a template to some categories

Could someone add {{Filter category by topic}} to all the subcategories of Category:Articles lacking reliable references? This will help editors to find articles of their topic of interest. – SD0001 (talk) 11:08, 11 November 2021 (UTC)

Add a parameter

After adding the "collapsible option" template to a number of templates, I noticed that the default visibility was not automatically inferred from the template code as I assumed, but had to be manually set/copied into the |default= parameter. Would it be possible to go through these pages again and add the parameter by copying it from {{{state<includeonly>|here</includeonly>}}} in the template code (they don't appear to coincide between the templates, but this should be beside the point of this discussion)? ~~~~

@Vanisaac You only made it worse... Rather than just replacing an empty {{collapsible option}} template, one will now have to replace {{collapsible option|default=expanded}} to correct this error. Was I that unclear? Look, I literally said that the content of the |default= parameter should be taken from {{{state<includeonly>|here</includeonly>}}} in the template code and explicitly that these are not the same between all the templates. You just added |default=expanded everywhere, even though templates like {{2007 shipwrecks}} and {{1914 shipwrecks}} (and probably the majority of this set) use the "collapsed" option. ~~~~

  • Too late now as this all happened while I was asleep, but I find it really useful if collapsed is within an includeonly tag or similar, so someone editing the actual template doesn't have to click [show] every time they preview a change. Certes (talk) 15:40, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
This is already the case for all (or almost all) the templates, and (according to Firefly) appears to be the reason why the state can not be identified automatically by {{collapsible option}}. ~~~~

Add qid to template

Hi! I would like to search the source of an article and capture something of the form qid\s*\=\s*(Q\d+) and then use this to replace {{Authority control}} with {{Lighthouse identifiers|qid=$1}} but I'm not sure if it's possible to use the capture in this way. Can anyone help? Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:51, 20 November 2021 (UTC)

@MSGJ: Could you please give us an example article? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 23:09, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I will be running through Category:Pages using infobox lighthouse with custom Wikidata item doing edits like this. Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:14, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
And then a little more ambitiously [1] — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 08:17, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Could you also provide a list of articles, maybe by linking to some categories? Thanks. –Novem Linguae (talk) 08:25, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

Ah, I missed the cat, I only saw the examples. My bad! –Novem Linguae (talk) 11:27, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
@MSGJ: I made the change to Fanad in this edit by adding a Find and Replace rule: (\| *qid *\= *)(Q\d+)(.*?)\{\{authority control\}\}$1$2$3{{Lighthouse identifiers | qid2=$2}} with the Regex and SingleLine boxes checked. However, if you click "Edit source" in Wikipedia on Coquet Island or Fanad, there's an error message at the bottom of the page stating Preview warning: Page using Template:Authority control with "extralist", please move this to Wikidata if possible. Hope this helps, and happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 15:49, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Thanks GoingBatty. I didn't think of using three capture groups like that! And you happen to know what produces the warning on preview, because I don't think that's in Module:Authority control — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 15:51, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
@MSGJ: That's from Module:Check for unknown parameters:
{{#invoke:Check for unknown parameters|check|arts|state|ignoreblank=1|showblankpositional=1|unknown=[[Category:Pages using authority control with parameters|_VALUE_]]|preview=Page using [[Template:Authority control]] with "_VALUE_", please move this to Wikidata if possible}}

Got it, thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:18, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

The auto-generated summary is useless in this case because it is basically replacing the whole page with a slightly different version of the whole page and it obviously can't fit that into the edit summary. Is there any way I can stop it displaying the auto-generated bit? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:38, 22 November 2021 (UTC)

@MSGJ: Two solutions:
  1. Add the rule to the "Normal settings" and uncheck the "Add replacements to edit summary", or
  2. Add the rule to "Advanced settings", because none of those rules are added to the edit summary.
Happy editing! GoingBatty (talk) 06:36, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

@DarkGlow. Any idea what the MOS says/what I should do about italics in the reflist? Example page: Elisabeth Dermot Walsh. There's around 8 references with Inside Soap in the article title parameter of the cite. Should that be italicized? –Novem Linguae (talk) 14:26, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
@Novem Linguae: There is actually no mention of italicising works within the citation titles within the MOS; I too have wondered about this before. I'm going to bring it up on the WP:TEAHOUSE in case there's something I've missed. – DarkGlow • 16:46, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
@Novem Linguae: Got a reply; based on there being no MOS or dictation on the refs, I'd say it's best to italicise them. DarkGlow • 20:22, 26 November 2021 (UTC)
Hey there. I checked a random television featured article and I did see some italics in the title property of the cites. So I agree, should be OK to italicize these. Category:Wicket-keepers

The CFD seems headed for a SNOW keep. In any case, it was previously deleted a while ago, but nobody bothered to repopulate it. I'm not sure if this will cover all pages, but if you add Category:Wicket-keepers to every page in this series of 544 edits (where it is not already, there might be a few which were restored), that would be nice. Finish templatization of US county presidential election results

This didn't get attention the first time I posted it, so hopefully now will work better.

I have access but don't know how to use the regex features. I'd like for someone to convert all U.S. county presidential election results from wikitable markup (such as at Rockland County, New York) into template form using {{PresHead}}, {{PresRow}}, and {{PresFoot}} (such as at Cook County, Illinois). Consensus exists for this change so it is not a "controversial" change that is prohibited by AWB rules. There is currently a Reward Board entry for this task, and anyone who does it will be given an appropriate barnstar.

Thanks!

Novem Linguae (talk) 08:12, 7 January 2022 (UTC)

It doesn't seem too difficult prima facie; I've tried regex to the effect of replacing:

{{Hidden begin|titlestyle=background:#ccccff|title=Presidential election results}}
{| align="center" border="2" cellpadding="4" cellspacing="0" style="float:right; margin: 1em 1em 1em 0; border: 1px #aaa solid; border-collapse: collapse; font-size: 95%;"
|+ '''Presidential election results'''X
|- bgcolor=lightgrey
! Year
! [[Republican Party (United States)|Republican]]
! [[Democratic Party (United States)|Democratic]]
! [[Third Party (United States)|Third parties]]

with

{{PresHead|place={{{subst:PAGENAME}}}|whig=y|source1=X}}
<!-- PresRow should be {{PresRow|Year|Winning party|GOP/Whig vote #|Dem vote #|3rd party vote #|State}} -->

Things might be tricky with varying numbers of sources, but the code of {{PresHead}} is probably such that multiple sources can be concatenated in the |source1= parameter even if that's not technically good practice. Ditto for replacing

| style="text-align:center;" {{Party shading/W}}|'''[[United States presidential election in S, Y|Y]]'''
| style="text-align:center;" {{Party shading/Republican}}|48.6% ''R''
| style="text-align:center;" {{Party shading/Democratic}}|'''50.3%''' ''D''
| style="text-align:center; background:honeyDew;"|1.1% ''T''
|-

with

{{PresRow|Y|W|R|D|T|S}}

And similar, with the table cap, for {{PresFoot}}. There are, of course, some snags that this could hit. Rockland County's example above includes an example of referencing a specific row, which is a big no-no for {{PresRow}} (all references need to be at the table head), as well whether the links are to 2020 United States presidential election in New York or United States presidential election in New York, 2020 (for example), and a human AWB operator would have to look out for such cases. The particularly coding-inclined could also write a method/function in AWB to deal with such things. In any event, I feel that this is certainly non-trivial but ultimately doable by my technical superiors. – John M Wolfson (talk • contribs) 18:18, 7 January 2022 (UTC)
