@Guy Macon, exploiting EXIF headers to execute scripts is a very well known technique. I would not doubt for a second that it has been patched in both PHP and MediaWiki for years now. Ed talk! 14:02, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

Best way to individually search large amounts of people?

Hello!

I'm doing genealogy work and I'm looking for the most efficient way to put a list of family members through a Wikipedia search to see who might yield results. I know I could search them one by one, but I'm wondering if there is a plugin for Excel/Numbers or an extension for a web browser. I've looked at what extensions are out there, and I couldn't find one that would do batch searching. What would be amazing would be an extension/plug-in that would highlight any name or subject that has a corresponding Wikipedia page, like how Wikipedia links within itself.

Kieth Hymmen

My grandfather is Kieth Hymmen. His name is correctly spelled K-i-e-t-h.

The title of his page is incorrectly "Keith Hymmen". If you look at his biography, it is spelled correctly Kieth. Just the title is incorrect.

Also the first reference should be corrected to "Kieth Hymmen – Parliament of Canada biography"

How to prevent bots from removing red links?

Is there a way to prevent bots from removing red links on this article? I want to link every DJ on this article, whether it is a blue or red link. I want to do this to promote research into unknown and/or undocumented DJs that appeared on this long-running radio show.

Edit conflicts with self

I am constantly getting into edit conflicts with myself. It's happening on a majority of talk page posts now. I click "Publish changes" and get the edit conflict page, but the edit is saved. My typical process is now: hit "Publish changes", open the "history" in a new tab, look at the history to confirm my edit saved, go back and close the original tab, confirming in the popup that I actually want to leave the page even though this means my changes will be lost. I can't believe that this is due to me accidentally double clicking the Publish button as suggested in Wikipedia:Help_desk/Archives/2019_July_5#Edit_conflicts_with_myself. (Also pinging the users who participated in that thread: User:Hohum, User:Doc James, User:PrimeHunter ~Awilley (talk) 19:42, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

@Awilley: If this is happening on a standard computer, are you using the mouse to click Publish? If so, mouse problems can cause two clicks to occur, and that usually gives an edit conflict. Instead of clicking, move the focus to the edit summary (e.g. by clicking in that box), write any edit summary and press Enter. Pressing Enter in the edit summary box (assuming you don't have a script to disable the default behavior) will save/publish the page. Johnuniq (talk) 23:59, 21 September 2020 (UTC)

You may also try pressing the key combination Alt+⇧ Shift+S (publishes changes) and see if that bypasses the issue. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 03:48, 23 September 2020 (UTC)

Modules

@Gioguch: Something like Module:Sandbox/Gioguch/temp is the correct place. The "temp" can be any name but temp is not bad because you might replace the contents from time to time and a short, generic name can be suitable. Use Module talk:Sandbox/Gioguch/temp for tests, for example

George W. Bush

George W. Bush was the ONLY bush son after his father H.W. Bush to become president. Your wikipedia states he was the 2nd son to become president after his father. Which is false. The closest person in his family to presidency was Jeb Bush and Jeb never became president. As we know Jeb ran in 2016 and did not get the election. Please fix your wikipedia.

Did You Know - Qanon post

I am trying to figure where I can view the discussions that lead to a blurb about Jim Watkins' QAnon super PAC becoming the first item in today's Did You Know section on the HOMEPAGE.
