Lady Gaga's upcoming studio album is slated to be released in February 2025,[1] under Streamline and Interscope Records. The album was recorded at Rick Rubin's recording studio Shangri-La, in Malibu, California. Its lead single will be released in October 2024.

Development

[edit]

For several months prior to the album's announcement, Gaga shared photographs on social media of herself in a recording studio.[2] The album was recorded at Rick Rubin's studio Shangri-La, in Malibu, California, where Gaga also made Joanne (2016) and the soundtrack to A Star Is Born (2018).[3] In May 2024, she released the concert film Gaga Chromatica Ball, which contained a snippet of new music and the message "LG7 Gaga returns" at the end.[4] Gaga has said that the upcoming album was made "from a place of happiness".[1] An unspecified song from the record has been described by Jonathan Van Meter of Vogue as "intense and ominous… old-school Gaga banger, unsettling but also buoyant".[5]

Singles

[edit]

The album's lead single is slated to be released in October 2024.[6][7]
