release ONLY on ps4 pc and xbox one?[edit]

can anyone confirm that it will only be released for 3 platforms ? no support for ps3 or xbox 360 on this title, is that confirmed? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.22.160.86 (talk) 07:20, 27 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Black Ops 3 for Wii U?[edit]

according to Activision Support on twitter, they hint that a call of duty game is coming to the wii u? Source: https://twitter.com/ATVIAssist/status/593796274811510784 is this count relible enought? or what.Aozz 101x (talk)

You can add that they hinted it, but it's not enough to say "it will be on Wii U" :) --George (Talk · Contribs · CentralAuth · Log) 09:55, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I oppose using this tweak for BO3. "More Wii U releases" doesn't mean Black Ops 3. Modern Warfare 2 was never released for Nintendo, and instead Modern Warfare: Mobilized (DS) and Reflex (Wii) were released. Until there's a statement directly tying Nintendo and BO3 together, shouldn't be included. -- ferret (talk) 14:27, 2 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Composer Jack Wall performing game soundtrack[edit]

Confirmed today that video game composer Jack Wall is scoring the game again (like he did in Black Ops 2), follow: http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2015/09/30/behind-the-scenes-of-call-of-duty-black-ops-3s-orchestral-soundtrack/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.79.67.14 (talk) 22:29, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't keep deleting legitimate citations[edit]

@User:Ferret The piece even mentions in the lede the outrage caused by the lack of a single player campaign yet not only did you delete the source but even reverted before I had chance to add the new citations! $50 is a full price game, just because the publisher decides to further increase prices does not mean the game is budget. Also, the retailers have reduced the price from $60 to $50 regards. Twobells (talk) 19:19, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, let's start. First, I'm pretty confident that JobsnHire is not a reliable source by Wikipedia standards. This is a problem to start, but not the only one. For something to be called a controversy and belong in the article's lead, it needs widespread coverage. What you have is a single source that is paraphrasing a second source, and pulls random quotes from the second article's comment section. It even goes on to say that not all users care. That's hardly a controversy. Additionally, your original ArsTechnica source, while reliable, doesn't discuss a controversy either, and only barely mentions Black Ops III in a trivial manner.
Second, the price of PC and 8th generation console versions is currently $60. This means the $50 price of 7th generation console versions shows that there are no "plans to sell at full price." as your edits suggested. The price has been reduced.
The basic fact is there's no controversy, no widespread boycotts or other efforts, and no real coverage beyond the initial information about the 7th generation platforms. The details about the reduced feature set of the 7th generation consoles are already covered in the article -- ferret (talk) 20:49, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Writing Error[edit]

On the second paragraph of the 'Story' section of the page, the last sentence of the end of the paragraph is: "Hendricks then begins to suspect that Kane is hiding something them." is wrong. Please edit and add 'from' between "hiding" and "them".

On the third paragraph of the 'Story' section of the page, this sentence "The Player realizes that both they and Hendricks are infected with by Corvus as well, and it is only a matter of time before they fall under its control." is grammatically wrong. Please edit and remove the word "with" from the sentence.

There should read that ps3 and xbox 360 versions are ZOMBIES AND MULTIPLAYER ONLY Santza-86 (talk) 19:58, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It does, the article notes in two separte places that PS3 and X360 do not have the campaign. -- ferret (talk) 20:49, 25 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Story Description, Zombies.[edit]

Page refers to "original characters introduced in Black Ops 2", when in fact they were introduced in World at War with the second map pack; "Shi No Numa". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.96.37.88 (talk) 00:42, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Game Ending dispute[edit]

Forums scream of unhappy users about the game story and game ending. Up to now nobody is able to build a viable game story. Events do not link together and the game may have a so called broken script. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.79.161.54 (talk) 14:22, 12 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's understandable, as the ending is pretty ambiguous. It seems to suggest, on play through, that the statements here are incorrect. In particular the part that says quote "Taylor's mission reports reveal that the Player actually died during their cybernetics surgery due to complications." There's no such mission reports available. Furthermore, it doesn't sync up properly with the story itself if we assume (as this article suggests) that this was all a simulation within Taylor's mind. In particular the line " The resulting events until Taylor's death occur in a simulation deviating from Taylor and Hendricks's experience of hunting down Dylan Stone and his team (Javier Ramirez, Alice Conrad, and Joseph Fierro), their teammates who defected after finding the CIA black site." Isn't supported by any specific information and seems to be more conjecture than anything. Probably the biggest problem with the story, if we say that the article is correct, is that Hendricks became infected when he linked up to Diaz. If, as the article suggests, this was during Taylor and his attempts to track down the problem...well, the story just doesn't add up, as by that point Taylor himself would know he was infected. I think a serious rewrite needs to happen in this regard, possibly making it more neutral as to what happens, without drawing conclusions. Ironically, the game's own wiki does this pretty well, noting "As their system slowly completes the purge, the Player says "Taylor" before the screen dramatically fades to black, leaving the Player's non-reality fate unknown." This line suggests that it's possible the player died at some point and their consciousness was preserved, but it doesn't specifically say it. Leaving up the question of whether it's the player, or Taylor who is now taking over. Kitsunedawn (talk) 06:14, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Black Ops III and Sucker Punch (2011) similarities[edit]

Not a word about the similarities between Black Ops III storyline and Sucker Punch (2011) film? Eh, even the bomb train is there! And a lot of other coincidences. Did they pay a francise for that? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.119.255.123 (talk) 15:10, 21 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Plot limit[edit]

Is it okay to remove the "story may be too long" template on the main story? I've managed to trim it down to 615 words. User:ChrisMorris1234 (talk) 15:34, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protected edit request on 2 March 2017[edit]

The following sentences need a source and some serious rewriting to sound more natural:

"A new specialist has also been released in the game. The specialist is blackjack who has the ability to mimic another specialists ability in battle. Black jack can only be unlocked for a certain period of time through specific challenges."

I'd suggest:

"In a later update, a tenth specialist named Blackjack was added to the game. Blackjack is able to mimic the abilities of other specialists, and is only playable for a short amount of time upon completing a set of challenges."

Plans to add "bonus" under the gameplay section[edit]

After an update the game modes "dead ops arcade", "nightmares", and "free run" were added to a new section called bonus in the main menu. I plan to add this in the gameplay section of the article. The article already mentions nightmares but fails to talk about dead ops arcade and the free run game modes which I think would be a worthy addition to it.
