An editor has twice removed an enumeration of the musicians Cooper played with in his lifetime as "name-dropping" (quoted from edit summary). Jazz musicians' careers are defined by the musicians with whom they played; it is relevant and encyclopedic for the article to include as many such musicians as the sources give, and in fact most jazz encyclopedia articles (in e.g. Leonard Feather, the Grove Dictionary of Jazz, AMG Guide to Jazz) are written in this way. A reference already given for the article (AMG) verifies the list of names dropped. (Also, the place of birth is not missing from this article.) Chubbles (talk) 20:56, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The place of birth is missing. Category:Musicians from Chicago, Illinois does not necessarily mean the musician in question was actually born in Chicago, but that he or she either hailed from there and/or resided there long-term and/or first came to prominence there. Yours, Quis separabit? 21:12, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The article already states that the musician was born in Chicago, and has since its creation. The category is inappropriate. Chubbles (talk) 21:25, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
