The topic to end (nearly) all VAs debates

Look at what I found: [1]. Well, I'm really surprised to see Pat Morita in there. And it DOES confirms Quinton Flynn & co. So, can we piece up the cast now? Pikawil 01:53, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Hell yeah. I'll do it now. It sucks that we'll have to figure out each individual Disney character voice, though. Geg 02:27, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
I'm confused: Does David Boreanaz do Squall's voice in this game or not? This page has been useless for all the messing that has been done to it. He's a bit more famous now, but does he voice Squall again or not?--10:23, 30 March 2006 (UTC)Jack Begley
He doesn't. You can even tell that Leon's voice is... different. Pikawil 16:29, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I can second that about Leon, since I am used to David Boreanaz's voice and I could tell it wasn't his voice. The question is whose voice is that. --Adv193
Looks like it turned out to be old Doug Erholtz. I never expected him. Well, I guess even the Cyberworld is full of surprises. Remy

The rest of the voice actors

Well, here's some lists for you.

Disney characters with no confirmed voice actor
Piglet

Basically, this is where speculation becomes legal. If you think a Disney character without an assigned actor sounds like a specific voice actor, and that voice actor is on the this list or the cast list, add them. Be sure to give your explaination in the edit summary. Geg 22:21, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Good idea. Hmm, so David Warner is not voicing MCP and Sark? I thought there was an email confirmation from him saying that he was... —Mirlen 00:41, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
I guess not. The link to the cast list is up in Pikawil's post. Geg 01:24, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
I hope you don't mind, but I changed the lists to be side-by-side to look at them easier. - Zero1328 07:06, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

The Peddler has to be Brian George (of seinfeld Babu Bhatt fame), he's of Middle eastern descent and I'm 100% sure--Jack Cox 08:20, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that Quinton Flynn is Timon, since he was the second actor to voice him in Timon and Pumbaa (TV series). Also, the only logic way that Jonathan Taylor Thomas would be still voicing young Simba (I mean, there's a 12-year gap between the releases of the Lion King and KH2) is archival clips. Pikawil 16:32, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Also I think it was an archive clip, Young Simba had only one line which consisted of him screaming Noooooooooooooooo! I've played the game and I assume it's archival footage.--Jack Cox 17:35, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure that all of Musafa's and Young Simba lines were ripped from the movie. I've also heard that James Arnold Taylor voices Jack Sparrow but I've heard no conformation outside of messageboard posts so I'm hesitant to add it to the article.--Virulent 78 17:46, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

When I played through Space Paranoids I noticed that MCP and Sark's voices were the same as the Tron movie which I had seen. This may suggest that David Warner is doing their voices again. This should be something to go on but I will not place it on the main page yet because I will not be part of this edit war. --Adv193 18:31, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

If he is, he'd have to be doing it under an alias. Geg 21:20, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Ok, I've been trying and trying to edit Corey's list of credits to include The Peddler, Shan-Yu, Commander Sark and MCP. I am a personal friend of Corey's and have been told first hand that he plays these parts. 68.238.92.59Lucien Dodge

WP:V. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 15:05, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
How do we know that's not codswallop? It seems pretty unlikely to be a personal friend of a mere voice actor when there are millions of people out there in the world who could have just said they were Corey Burton in a chatroom. Remy
I think that's very unlikely as I've been posting on this 'mere voice actor's' message board for years, talked with him over the phone, and even met him in person. Anyway, I'll provide 'written proof' eventually, as it doesn't exist at the moment.68.238.92.59 01:19, 12 April 2006 (UTC)Lucien Dodge
I went ahead and added yours, since I doubt you'd go through this trouble just to lie and get false info on the page. Geg 00:11, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
Vivi's voice is strange. Vivi is a boy, but why is he voiced by Melissa Disney!? Remy
Vivi is a kid to note, plus he was voiced by a girl in both versions. Fractyl
It's very common for females to voice younger boys in various areas of entertainment, just as a note, Remy. Off the top of my head, Roo from Winnie the Pooh was voiced by a female, as well as Timmy Turner of The Fairly Oddparents fame. In fact, the voice of the latter is currently Tara Strong, who voiced Rikku in both Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2, as well as the Rikku here in KH II.--'Ivan 11:36, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, you're right. I just remembered: Goten and Trunks from Dragonball Z were voiced by girls. Remy
Well it looks like all of Corey's parts are up now, without me having to do anything. Thanks whoever did that. Not sure where the 'official proof' came from, but no matter.68.238.92.59 00:20, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Lucien Dodge
Basically, there's no official proof for a lot of the Disney characters right now. That's what I started this section in the talk page for. I know speculation is against the rules, but speculation is about all you can really do when there's an incomplete cast list. At least this time there's a list to go off of as opposed to before the game came out and everyone was guessing random names for Xigbar and Xemnas. Geg 00:23, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, I was just wondering why my edits to Corey's roles kept getting rejected, and now that someone else has added the exact same ones back in, they're staying unchanged. No biggie, just a little strange.68.238.92.59 00:54, 15 April 2006 (UTC)Lucien Dodge
Does Srcooge McDuck have a speaking role? Or does he just have speech bubbles like Cid did in the first game? Remy
He just uses the speech bubbles. Geg 16:29, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
Is John Fiedler's name on the cast list or not? I know he has passed away, but did he voice Piglet before his death like Pat Morita, or does his name not appear?Remy
For the record, Pluto is voiced by Bill Framer, who voiced the dog recently in Dinsey shows.

European release date

This article gives the european release date as "October 2006"; play.com, however, lists the game as "Due for release on 26/05/2006" (reference link). Which one is the correct date? Whitetigah 13:49, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

I'd say the October release is the correct one, because I saw the Belgian magazine article say that KH2 is slated to hit shelves in October. Also, Play.com says 26th of April, and Amazon.co.uk says 26th of May. I'd go with the October date. Remy
Actually, both Amazon and Play give the relase date as May 26. And personally I think seven months (from March to October) is quite a long time to import the game to Europe, especially considering that the translation into English was already done for the american release. Whitetigah 16:45, 1 April 2006 (UTC)
Gee, I wish that date would come soon. If it wasn't for Gaston's abscence in the game, I would have ordered it from USA (I'm from England).............Funny, now the release date on the KH2 page says May 2006 instead of October, but the link still says October. What's going on!? Remy
This is really getting annoying. Is there any CREDIBLE source for the EU and Australian release dates? We could leave them blank. 'Indefinite' sounds better than October. Anyway, if we're going to post release dates, could we plz provide proper sources? Master Vinaki 00:09, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
It just seems wrong, that it should be released in USA in March, and in Europe in October. After all, Kingdom Hearts was released in USA in September 2002, and in Europe and Australia in November 2005. Why the hell would they leave Europe's KH2 for October? Remy
Beats me. It sucks!!!!!!!!! Master Vinaki 06:22 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Retailers often give estimated dates. I changed the dates to something better until an official source is found. - Zero1328 12:01, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Well we've got May 26 for EU on the article. If that's the case, then Aus should get it in June. But I just wish S-E Europe would get their stuff together. They don't even have a link for KH2 Master Vinaki 09:55, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Anyway, if a magazine says October 2006, you shouldn't really take it seriously. After all, magazines were the scources of info that said Sean Astin and David Boreanaz were voicing Hercules and Leonhart. I'd go with the May 26, 2006 date. Remy
Has Piglet's NA voice actor been confirmed yet? Cause if I'm not mistaken he sounded alot like John Fiedler. But I don't remember seeing his name in the credits.Nadiasama 05:05, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
Obviously. John Fiedler passed away last year. I suggested that maybe Jim Cummings voiced Piglet and that those unconfirmed voice actors were just Additional Voices. Remy
Hey, everyone! That Dutch magazine now says that KH2 will be released in Europe in September! I mean, what is going on here!? Remy

Info Stolen

http://www.angelfire.com/falcon/belthazor/KX_KH.htm

This douchbag kid stole the VA list from thsi site. Proof? Look next to some of the names, they have the numbers in bracets next to them just like here at Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.202.42.234 (talkcontribs)

And? This is kind of what Wikipedia is for. Geg 01:37, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
Although he isn't stating from where he picked the information, he is linking to the article. You may say he needs to inform from where he picked the information, but at least he didn't say it was his own information. -- ReyBrujo 02:08, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Scar

Who voices Scar? Why isn't his actor on the voice talent list? Is it Jeremy Irons or Jim Cummings? Remy

Jeremy Irons isn't on the cast list. Has Jim Cummings voiced Scar in the past? Geg 23:18, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

It sounds exactly like Irons. But then again, Cummings is one of the most talented voice actors in the business.... The S 02:29, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Jim Cummings did voice Scar for a second on The Lion King, and he spoke for him during a flashback on The Lion King II. Maybe it was Cummings. Remy

Trivia

Why were these trivia notes deleted?

  • In the Japanese release, Jiminy's journal states that Merlin the Wizard and Yen Sid are both said to be "second to none".
  • The release year of Mulan is erroneously written as 1992 in Jiminy's Journal in the Japanese version. The correct year of release is 1998.

Pele Merengue 19:43, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Because they're pointless and not terribly interesting? ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 20:04, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
And since when is all trivia interesting? Hell, trivia is trivial. Pele Merengue 04:48, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
I think the 1992 error should stay at least, but the Merlin and Yen Sid isn't really that important. Remy
Yeah. I dunno where the "second to none" thing was going, but the wrong release date tidbit is interesting enough to be in the article. --'Ivan 12:14, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
I put the Mulan one back in, if no one disagrees. - Zero1328 12:25, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
Get a load of this, guys: Someone put something so simple and obvious in the trivia part. It says: Roxas, without the X, spells Sora, and Xemnas, without the X, spells Ansem. Whoever that was: EVERYONE KNOWS THAT!!!!! ROXAS AND XEMNAS ARE THE NOBODIES OF SORA AND THE ONE WHO WAS BELIEVED TO BE ANSEM!!!!!! Remy
Actually I didn't catch that myself until I read it in the triva section. Some of us are slow on the uptake or in my case dyslexic which even incredibly obvious amalgams can be confusing/unnoticed.Nadiasama 06:41, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
I agree with Nadiasama, it isn't obvious. And please, don't scream at us :/ • TheTrueSora 11:48, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
Oh well, in that case, sorry. I didn't know that. Remy

The "second to none" comment was meant to be an oxymoron, for how could both Yen Sid AND Merlin be "second to none"? "Second to none" implies the best, so they cancel each other out. Should it be re-added? JiangWei23 21:17, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

Pirate Voices

Are Keira Knightley and Geoffrey Rush on the cast list? Remy

NO. - Zero1328 00:42, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

We should count the three pirate types as well.

They're called "Undead Pirate A", "Undead Pirate B", and "Undead Pirate C". :3 ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 21:04, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
  • True, but the models are based on the charatcers from the movie, so a "name/Undead Pirate ?" bit would work.

Disney Based Worlds

Shouldn't the Disney Castle fall under the category of Disney-Based Worlds? --Radaar 03:30, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Wow, that's really....obvious. I'm surprised that wasn't noticed earlier. Thank you and I changed it. --'Ivan 03:32, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, someone just put Disney Castle back in the original worlds section. Apparently somebody doesn't agree with you two like I do. Remy
Eh... I can see where they come from, though. The Castle isn't an actual Disney world, that I know of - which is why Mickey, Donald, and Goofy can get around the "No interaction between worlds" rule laid down by the Disney folk. --Dal 21:27, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
Changed to "Worlds based on Disney films". ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 00:01, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts II Manga

An image of the cover for the first volume of the Kingdom Hearts II manga has been released. Thought I'd post it here so you guys can make a section on the KHII manga, or deem it fake. http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/86/kh2m0cj.jpg --Takuthehedgehog 19:53, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

the batman kid

anyone know who this little brat is that posted garbage under storyline? ive tried to edit the page to clean it up, but it isnt displaying as part of the page, although ti clearly is there.

Don't worry about it. Sometimes the wikipedia page needs some time to adjust to a recent submission as it has happened to me before. Besides if it says Edit conflict that means that someone else had update the page so you could just check to see if what you were trying to revert was already done.-Adv193 22:03, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

I found out the person who created this page has been deleting all the edits that people display after you make them the same day or the next it will be gone it's not Wikipedia on this page
Ummm... what? Geg 20:29, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
Probably 68.84.158.42 from "Rude Creator" still whining about me. Never mind the fact that I AM NOT THE FUCKING CREATOR, and that others pretty much do the same reverts (i.e. Geg, Zero). Wikipeida is not here to cater to bullshit. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 21:02, 14 May 2006 (UTC)

Heartless Controllers

I know who the Heartless Controllers are, for example: Shan-Yu controls them in the Land of Dragons and the MCP controls them in Space Paranoids. But who controls them in Beast's Castle if Gaston isn't there? It's something I've wondered for quite a while. Is it one like Trickmaster and Armour Guard? Remy

Xaldin. Thinking of making a list of world villians? I can't think of how that'd be useful. - Zero1328 13:49, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
But I thought Xaldin controlled the Dragon Nobodies. I thought Organization XIII only controlled their specific breed of Nobodies. Remy
They do, but as mentioned in the game, the Heartless follow the ones who are strongest. It's also mentioned that Org13 are commanding the Heartless to fight Sora, so Sora can use his keyblade to release the hearts, to open the way to Kingdom Hearts. Xaldin's the main villian in Beast's Castle, so he should be the one controlling the Heartless there, but you could also say that Org13's controlling them in all worlds. - Zero1328 22:42, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

AntiForm VS Anti-Form VS Anti Form VS OMFG BLACK SORA

There's been too much reverting going on for something like this. The Brady Games guide says "Anti Form", I don't know what Ultimania says, and Wikipedia seems to say "AntiForm/Antiform", as shown in the edit-view-only text "THERE IS NO SPACE OR HYPHEN IN ANTIFORM". I would think that common sense dictates "Anti Form", simply because the other forms are as such. (Wisdom Form, Final Form, etc.) Well? --'Ivan 15:01, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

There's that, but there's also the fact that it's listed in the actual game as AntiForm. It's in the battle report after you finish the game, it says "Times used AntiForm" or something similar to that. Geg 21:02, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, pretty much, so it stays like that, regardless of pattern or whatever the Brady Games guide has it as. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 23:09, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
The video here (obtained through Action Replay) has it as "Antiform". Lowercase f. Hah. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 21:53, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Spoiler warnings

I noticed that this article has two spoiler warnings, one before and another after the table of contents. Can I or another editor delete one of the warnings, or does the article need two warnings? Just wondering. Keep up the good work! I hope I can contribute a little to this awsome article. --Starionwolf 23:09, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

I don't know why we need the majority of the article to be considered to have spoilers in the first place. I guess it might have made sense when the game first came out and nobody wanted to be surprised by a certain world or character, but considering the "New Gameplay Features", "Critical Acclaim", "Music", etc. as spoilers is ridiculous considering that these sections have little to nothing to do with the plot details or story ending. Until anyone has a convincing argument as to why the spoiler alert should cover the entire article, I'm moving the "spoilers end here" tag up to the end of the plot section. Pele Merengue 20:22, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Clean up?

Alright the game has been out in North America for over a month and most of the initial fuss has died down. Reading the whole thing through it looks like some major clean up for this article is in order. For example each drive form has a small paragraph of text attached to it, is this much detail really needed? Also I would recommend moving the lists of differences between the Japanese and North American versions from the Triva section to it's own sections as there seems to be enough differences between the two to warrent this. I hope to have some free time in next couple of days to start doing some clean up work.--Virulent 78 16:02, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Inappropriate person

The article is abusing the second person ("you" and "your", in example). I have tagged the article as needing a cleanup. Please keep the tag there until all references to "you" and "your" have been deleted. Thanks! -- ReyBrujo 16:09, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

Rude Creator

On May 5th 2006 I added how many gauges had to be filled up in drive gauge to use each form when I came back on Saturday May 6th to the same site everything that I had added had been earsed and I am guessing that it was the creator because when I looked under history everything else on the page that was added on the 5th was by the same person and nothing was taken off frin their additions. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.84.158.42 (talkcontribs) .

It's not that anyone's being rude; it's just that adding such information is pointless for the article. This isn't GameFAQs. Geg 18:58, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Whoever the above poster is (not Geg, the one posting from 68.84.158.42), please stop. Your edits do nothing but clutter the article, and force myself, Geg, and others to constantly watch so that we can revert. TheTrueSora 19:12, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Hi i am the first poster on this I think if your going talk about what is new in Kingdom Hearts 2 and what you do in the game that you should tell the viewers what to expect I agree that when I added the lyrics to the song the page might have been cluttered, but telling them how much their drive gauge should be filled up to to use the different forms is not, and secondly if you didn't think people were going to make changes on of what they thought was right and wrong why did you put it on Wikipedia. I think that if I find something I want to add to I will —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.84.158.42 (talkcontribs) .

"Rude Creator". Heh. Maybe I should change my name to that. Regardless, I'm not the creator; SD6-Agent is. Or 24.39.234.193. Depending on your point of view. (Agent created Kingdom Hearts 2; the anon created Kingdom Hearts II.)
And yes, this is a encyclopedia, which serves to give a overview of subjects, not go into the most minute detail of the games. How many Drive points each Form uses up is completely insignificant in the long run, sorry to say. Full song lyrics on Wikipedia also violates copyright, and is completely prohibited. Do not add them again. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 19:32, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
Hello. Please, always assume good faith in edits made by others, otherwise this place would be hell. Now, to answer a couple of questions, do not include the song's entire lyrics unless it is public domain per song guidelines, as the lyrics may be copyrighted by their owners and putting them here may be a copyright violation. Also, remember that you should not write advice, suggestions, tutorials, walk throughs, video game guides, manuals or recipes in Wikipedia articles per 8th information policy. Please feel free to put that kind of information in the Wikibooks projects. Again, always assume good faith, nobody here has any problems with you, we are all working to make Wikipedia a better place. -- ReyBrujo 19:47, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

What About origanal characters

I've noticed that you have Final Fantasy and Disney characters on this page but what about origanal charactors like organation XIII, Main character, nobodies, heartless? where are they? ~kh1fiend

...Because their cameos are notable whereas a reader new to Kingdom Hearts isn't going to be interested in Pence, of all people. Regardless, they're in the plot section (or will be, once I get around to it). ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 03:32, 8 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey every KH fan I made a page devoted to just roxas you should definately check it out just search Roxas and it will appear
