Features List

[edit]

The wording of the paragraph before the list suggests that most of the features listed aren't available on lower priced wheels. 900° rotation is usually found in wheels that are less than half the price (Logitech DFP).

It says "often not found in cheaper wheels". I think that's ok to say so, altough not a big deal for me if it was changed. Logitech's DFP and Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo Wheel are the only ones with 900 rotation that I know (excluding so called "pro wheels", ECCI, Thomas Superwheel, Frex and so on). There are LOTS of other cheap wheels with no 900 rotation, so that makes 900 rotation kind of "exclusive" feature. Not to mention that it says so above the list and it means also the shifter and clutch pedal which are pretty much not available on cheaper wheels. Compatible games

[edit]

Please update the list of compatible games if you know of any omissions or errors. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChimpanzeeUK (talkcontribs) 09:29, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is in my opinion that the list of compatible games should be moved to the actual GT Force article. I find it strange that the list is in the G25's article in particular, because the introduction to the section says the list covers the Driving Force, Driving Force Pro and the G25. Any other opinions? Stealthman (talk) 08:50, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally, it should go on a generic 'Logitech driving wheels' article but there isn't one (that I can find). I don't really see why it would be more appropriate on the GT Force article over any of the other driving wheel articles? Maybe a new page needs to be made just for the list. 'List of games compatible with Logitech driving wheels' or something, then all of the other pages could just link to that one?
I only put it on this page in the first place because this is the wheel I have and knew for certain which games are compatible. ChimpanzeeUK (talk) 09:11, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought the GT Force article was the "generic Logitech driving wheels" article. It seems to have information on all of the Logitech wheels, and there's even a table on the page comparing the features of the various wheels (e.g. Force Feedback: yes/no, etc.). If that list/table could make it onto the GT Force page, then why can't this list do the same? Stealthman (talk) 10:16, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The first line seems to suggest that the article is specific to the GT5 wheels? ChimpanzeeUK (talk) 10:26, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not the way I see it. The first line says that GT Force is a "line of Gran Turismo official steering wheels". At no point does the article say anything about the article content being specific to GT5. The article also includes a section on the history of the GT Force line, adding in the wheels made for GT3 and the like. As I said before, the list in the article refers to all of the Logitech wheels in the GT Force line. Other wheels are referred to in the list on the G25 page, when the article itself is about only one of these wheels. Since the GT Force article does not refer to any specific wheels and the list doesn't either, I think the list should be moved to the GT Force article. Just a thought. Oh, sorry, didn't mean to say GT5, just 'Gran Turismo'. I'm probably not explaining myself very well! But as far as I know, the G25 doesn't have anything specific to do with the game, it's just a generic wheel that happens to work with it. So, the list isn't specific to the "GT" range, just as it isn't specific to the G25. I think the list should probably go on it's own page that's not specific to any wheel or range of wheels, just specific to Logitech? ChimpanzeeUK (talk) 11:01, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh blast it, I forgot that Logitech makes a wheel for the Xbox 360 too! But yes, maybe it would be a good idea to get a separate article containing the list. This little debate has added some variety to my otherwise boring day today! Stealthman (talk) 11:18, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh crap! Didn't even think about the xBox! I don't know if the wheels work with it or not. The one I have is just standard USB so it might do. The whole table could probably do with being redesigned when it is moved!! Feel free to go ahead and move it to a new page or I may do when I have time. ChimpanzeeUK (talk) 11:37, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I've got the whole school holidays ahead of me, so I could do it - I could just open a new tab, start the article then copy-and-paste the list in. I'll get onto it as soon as I can. Stealthman (talk) 12:47, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
...Done. It's called "Logitech Racing Wheels compatibility.

Go to the talk page for my discussion on references. Stealthman (talk) 04:11, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
