Birth/Death Date
[edit]Fixed the dates - you can verify by checking the CD inlay for "Black Magic" or even this fan-page which lists the correct dates Bmathew 09:06, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Hmmm... I'm looking at a photograph of his grave site on Facebook and the stone says:
Beloved Husband Samuel G. Maghett (Magic Sam) 1936 - 1969
I'd past a link if FB would allow. You can find it on the Magic Sam fan page, though. 66.162.201.18 (talk) 19:14, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Magic Sam-West Side Soul (album cover).jpg
[edit]Image:Magic Sam-West Side Soul (album cover).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:55, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
What is the context of the photo? Why is he playing Earl Hooker's guitar? Is this Magic Sam? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Merlinds33 (talk • contribs) 05:01, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yes it is Magic Sam, Earl Hooker looks completly different, as to why he's playing Earls guitar I have no ideaFSAB (talk) 01:42, 28 August 2008 (UTC)
- The photograph is a still from a video of him playing a show in Europe (I think). I have the video, but it doesn't give a clue as to where it was filmed. He may have been on a package tour with Hooker. 98.30.49.10 (talk) 12:51, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Missing album
[edit]The discography seems to be missing Live at Sylvio's 1966. 2600:4040:738E:5400:422:2F10:D649:142C (talk) 15:21, 14 October 2022 (UTC)
- That's a gray-market/bootleg reissue of Magic Touch, which is already included in the discography section. One of my favorite exceedingly lo-fi albums! —Ojorojo (talk) 15:35, 15 October 2022 (UTC)
