Bold textzero is a similair character to kenshin ,because his sword-like techniques are superb;like batusai.Italic text'killer techniques are not used by both of them,as they are semi-pacifists.

  • Here we go again. I've been warning you anons not to post such comments and questions on talkpages, as its Ultra Vires. Talk pages are meant for the improvement of the article, not a forum were you post random nonsense.-MegamanZero 15:55 25, November 2005 (UTC)

CAPCOM's confirmation

[edit]

According to the article, the makers of the game have now officially stated that Zero did not survive the crash. I find this a very good thing - since Z4 makes for an excellent final entry to the story and there was danger of it dragging on endlessly - but a bit hard to believe. Is there a quote or a source on this? --Kizor 22:17, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • I'm not coming back..?! Say it an't so! :) However, concerning your query, would it be possible for you to give a written source for your thesis statement..? It's needed so that we can verify that, indeed, Zero 4 is the final game in the series. If, indeed you are right, then we can add it to the article, and stop anons from posting "Some fans think he might come back" in the article. Finally, about your saying: "I find this a very good thing - since Z4 makes for an excellent final entry to the story and there was danger of it dragging on endlessly".., I must say, I agree with your opinion, but you know, its not above Capcom to make a 360 and continue the series (remember X6..?). -MegamanZero 0:49 6,December 2005 (UTC)
    • A 180, a 360 means you spin around once and continue in the same direction. :) But aside from that nitpick, X6's precisely why I'm so against Zero's miraculous survival. It doesn't rule out prequels, but X4 should definitely should be the chronologically last one. I haven't been able to confirm or disprove the quote yet. --Kizor 23:08, 5 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
      • My bad, funny thing is, geometry is usually my strong suit. :)-MegamanZero 2:27 6,December 2005 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I think I need to call the part about Capcom confirming Zero is finally dead into question. I've never seen proof of this, so if someone would kindly provide proof I will then kindly remove the Dispute tag. Wolf ODonnell 14:03, 7 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • We're working on it.-MegamanZero 16:21 7,December 2005 (UTC)
    • Hogwash, If there was such an announcement the Planet megaman forums would be screaming with people talking about it. The theorys are all we have, and without any credible evidence why are we disputing about it? -Anonymous
  • Yea... It would be nice to leave it off there, yet i still feel unfufilled. And even though Capcom has stated that he was destroyed in the crash, Has that ever stopped Zero before? (which i believe he holds the second place record for most deaths in a Megaman title (Vile is in first place i believe)) --Negative Zero 67.185.213.77 08:57, 8 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agreed. Along with that statement, there's also a theory I'd like to present to you all. We all know how Sigma kept returning by use of the Maverick virus correct..? And we also know how he oringinally recieved it from Zero, right..? Well, I think that might be the reason for Zero's "maraculous" revivals. Since Zero holds the Zero virus (oringinal, more powerful from of the maverick virus), then it makes sense that he has the same ability to return from the dead like Sigma. And given the Zero virus is the oringinal, more pure form of the maverick virus, it makes sense that Zero's rivival powers would be even more potent than Sigmas. Of course, this is speculation on my part, but given the concensus, it makes plenty of sense. Also it leaves the doorway open for yet another Zero game in the series.-MegamanZero 10:04 8,December 2005 (UTC)
  • Look at what you said at the top, Discussion pages are for article improvement, not discussion on rumours and speculation. I can't remember Capcom saying it outright that Zero is dead, but they said that they would not like to make a Zero 5, as the ending pretty much closes it. Zero1328 10:59, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Don't play me for a fool. What I said at the top was don't put commennts, questions, and nonsense comparable to a forum , and, in fact, I said exactly that. My speculation above was noted in the discusson pertaining to the article and was completelty justified. My point being that since it could leave the doorway open for another Zero game, I thought to bring it up, proving the point of Zero perhaps not returning being decidingly PoV. -MegamanZero|Talk 08:43, 16 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
  • Look, the point is, whether Zero is still alive or not, the Zero series is finished. All the final loose ends that spanned the four games have more or less been tied up, so there's no need for a Zero 5. Maetch 20:42, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rockman ZX

[edit]

What's with the ZX info here? Shouldn't it be on a separate page? Zero1328 10:22, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. Remove it. -MegamanZero|Talk 16:15, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Character section?

[edit]

Twlighter, what have you done to the Characters section? It's now a paragraph that isn't as easily accessible or searchable as my list of bosses and has lost game-relevant information. This article will never become a featured article with that in place. Besides, all that information you've put in this article is already available in the article List of Neo Arcadian boss characters. Wolf ODonnell 11:57, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GA hold

[edit]

You've pretty much got everything down pat here for GA status. I know nothing about this game, and this article informs the reader well of it's aspects. The Reception could be expanded but for GA it's all good. The plot summary is no biggie in terms of sourcing, for FA source it with in-game quotes, so that's okay. The thing that holding this back from becoming a GA is the section on the mini games ect. and that it has no sources. Get that sourced and I'll make this a GA

†he Bread 3000 00:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that easy. I managed to put a few references to it, but that's about it. Wolf ODonnell 11:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It might be for the best to take it out, the only sources I can seem to find is GameFAQs. --Twlighter 00:40, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We'll just have to back up the references with gamecheats from IGN, Gamepro, Gamespy and Gamespot. The more that we have to back up this data, the more reliable it will be... unless they're all bad references. However, seeing as I've actually got the stuff to work, I frankly don't see how they could be. Wolf ODonnell 12:39, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Passed

[edit]

With the new references, this seems to pass the GA criteria, still a few more references wouldn't go astray and try to expand the reception section. Good work

Article's Game Plan

[edit]

I think we should now discuss our game plan to get this article kicked up a notch to A Class status, if not FA Status. Certainly, the article is lacking a Development section. IGN's Mega Man Zero 4 index and Gamespot's Mega Man Zero 4 News index should provide some details, but ultimately we may have to search the news sections of the major Mega Man fan sites.

Then there's the issue of the Critical Reaction section, which needs expanding. What other review websites would be worthy of being included? I think we do need to mention the critical reaction of the Weather System, the mini-games, as well as the new weapon system. But what else?

Also, if we strengthen the Plot section with in-game quotes, what would be a good source to reference these quotes?

Wolf ODonnell 15:14, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GameFAQs always has the game script. For the critical reception, I've been taking examples from MGS3 section. Sales figures would help, but I've never found them. --Twlighter 21:58, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, the MSG3 arcticle looks pretty short on the Critical Reception section, and I don't think we can do an awards subsection. And sales figures would be difficult to find. I wonder if anybody knows any Capcom representatives and can get an official letter with an official letterhead on it? Wolf ODonnell 11:00, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

should we keep the "References to other mega man games"?

[edit]

I can't decide with keep or delete. Moogle 12 (talk) 12:31, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Something that makes you go "Hmmmm"

[edit]

There's something about the final stage, where you fight Dr. Weil to prevent Ragnarok from crashing into Earth. It smacks of the last mission of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, because the last mission has you preventing ARK from crashing into Earth. Coincidence, or something more? --D-Boy Wheeler —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.223.50.195 (talk) 22:08, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that this article be delisted from GA status for the following reasons:

  • The fair-use rationales of all the images are lacking; that is, they don't go into detail as to the purposes justifying usage of the images (see WP:NFCC).
  • There seems to be too much undue weight placed on the gameplay and plot compared to the development and reception. The development section in particular is sorely lacking and is in need of updating.
  • The plot section seems to remain in-universe; that is, the content is not from a real-world perspective and does not try to utilize both primary and secondary sources (see WP:WAF).
  • Many sources given are self-published reader reviews which are not good for verifiability those sources are as follows:
    • IceTGressa (2005-09-05). "Megaman Zero 4". Retrieved 2007-01-24.
    • xybazelu. "Mega Man Zero 4 Codes". GameFAQs. Retrieved 2007-01-17. {{cite web}}: External link in |work= (help)
    • Aeon17x (2005-10-05). "Rock Man Zero 4 - FAQ/Walkthrough v1.04". GameFAQs. Retrieved 2007-01-17. {{cite web}}: External link in |work= (help)CS1 maint: numeric names: authors list (link)
    • N Amer (2005-10-04). "Mega Man Zero 4". GameZone. Retrieved 2007-02-19. {{cite web}}: External link in |publisher= (help)

All the above reasons combined I fell justify the need to delist this until necessary improvements can be made. MuZemike 15:30, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Due to the lack of edit activity, I am delisting the article from GA status. Article can be renominated for GA whenever the appropriate improvements are made. MuZemike 16:14, 24 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
