Fair use rationale for Image:MyTravel.jpg

[edit]

Image:MyTravel.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Article name

[edit]

Anybody know why the article is named (former) - cant find any evidence that a new MyTravel Group exists? MilborneOne (talk) 13:31, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's the standard routine for company articles on Wikipedia. MyTravel and Thomas Cook AG merged to become a new company, Thomas Cook plc. So that the large amount of history and information that had built up in the MyTravel and Thomas Cook AG articles wasn't lost during a merge of the articles They were renamed with the suffix (former). This is used to signify that it was a significant company but that it is no longer trading in that form. The same happened when Telewest and NTL merged into Virgin Media. - X201 (talk) 13:40, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I understand what you are saying but i am not sure it is standard practice, if you were searching for MyTravel Group is redirects here, so I cant see any value in it. They are a lot of defunct companies or companies that have been merged that just stay as historic articles without adding anything to the name. Even if the company has been taken over their is no reason why the page cant stay as MyTravel Group without the former being added, I would also say that their is no reason to copy the bulk of it over to the new company - just a link back from it. Has anybody a reference to it being a standard practice.MilborneOne (talk) 14:00, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Simplifying the Key People in template

[edit]

Does anyone agree that Key People should include just the chairman and CEO and not the whole management team? (Airline7375 (talk) 22:47, 9 November 2019 (UTC))[reply]

yes, I do. Dormskirk (talk) 23:24, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
