Mistake: "The Artist Is Present" should read "Rhythm 0"

The section of this bio that mentions the New York Times comparing Shia's performance-based art piece #IAmSorry to Marina Abramovic's The Artist Is Present meant to refer to Marina Abramovic's piece, "Rhythm 0." It should come as a surprise to no one that his latest effort, #IAMSORRY, is not a complete LaBeouf original. It resembles Marina Abramovic's infamous 2010 MoMa exhibit "The Artist is Present". ... LaBeouf's version of "The Artist is Present" has him wearing tuxedo ...(Guardian)

The cited sources are pretty clear in their references to "The Artist is Present" and do not mention "Rhythm 0". Franco didn't specify the name of a specific Abramovic work in his New York Times OpEd, nor did Time other than mentioning "the work of Marina Abramoviç". The NYT is not otherwise cited as a source for this information and I can't find any case where the Times itself made any comparison. We will go with our cited sources. Performance art section

I've consolidated several references to LaBeouf's performance art into a new "Performance art" section, which were previously scattered throughout the page, as well as adding some notable details of his recent performances and other art-related activities. @Freshacconci: I'd moved and expanded the passage on Marina Abramović to this section, giving a balanced account of the resemblance as described by the press and also the artists involved. This seems to belong in the "Performance art" section rather than the "Plagiarism accusations" section, since Abramović is not accusing him of plagiarism (on the contrary).
The Legault allegation does not seem significant enough for inclusion, as the works actually appear to have little in common according to this video (the piece is a group of people in giant paper bags bumping into each other saying "sorry"--so it's a real stretch to call LaBeouf's project a copy). I also can't find any mention of Legault by LaBeouf, Ronkko or Turner (whereas they address the Abramović question here), nor any in-depth analysis or notable figures making this association, nor does Legault herself appear to be making any such claims, so I suggest this particular allegation may not be noteworthy enough for a WP:BLP. When this article becomes unlocked again, would someone please make a correction to the third to last paragraph in this section. Where it says "on President's day" should be changed to "On George Washington's Birthday." There is no such thing as president's day. No Federal holiday has ever had that name. No state has a state legal holiday by that name. The name of the holiday is officially George Washington's Birthday and has never changed and ought never be changed since he is the only American that has ever deserved a holiday named after him. Nixon wanted to be included so he started to call it President's day but did so incorrectly. Feeding the public false information goes against the idea of presenting correct information to the public, part of Wikipedia's mission. He also confirms that he pulled his tooth out, not just filed it down. Manifesto

The "manifesto" from early 2014 was mentioned at one point but then removed due to perceived lack of future relevance. It was later added back in. However, although it's listed on Shia LaBeouf's website, it no longer says it's by him, either in the online HTML version or the PDF. Edit: to be clear, the atractivoquenobello interview says it was "playing with ideas of authorship". It seemed that the purpose was to point out that if you pay money, other people will generally let you take credit for inventing or writing something. See for example the fact that a number (not sure how many) of popular songs are written by someone else, and then sold to whoever is seen in popular culture as having created it. Example, Run Devil Run (Girls' Generation song). So "plagiarism", in this sense, is not a matter of accurate representation of creative talent, but just a monetary issue. Current source article, "Shia LaBeouf collaborator: I don’t think you need a sign saying ‘Don’t murder the artist’" does connect the manifesto to the 'plagiarism' controversy, but says, "In his 2011 Metamodernist Manifesto – the authorship of which was later attributed to LaBeouf in another nod to his plagiarism scandal – Turner writes that [...]". The article writer seems to think that it was simply, "oh haha, Shia LaBeouf is claiming credit for another thing he did not originate". The atractivoquenobello interview talks about "people in the 'States'" taking the manifesto too seriously, or people viewing it—or the fact that Shia LaBeouf was given credit for it—as entirely ironical. It also talks about the "media" world being unsure if recent actions are within the domain of the news media, and the "art" world being unsure if they are within the domain of art. However, it doesn't seem that this interview clarified whether either view was incorrect. But the original website had "by shia labeouf" removed sometime between 2014-09-06 and 2014-10-21. (The favicon, attribution at the bottom, email address, PDF version, and website link were changed at earlier times.) If this is accurate, then the screenshot on Shia LaBeouf's website was consistent with how the site had appeared from mid-January to probably 21 Oct 2014, but was inconsistent with how the site appeared when the screenshot was made public. How do you pronounce "Saide"? I need it for the Bulgarian Wikipedia. Is it pronounced as Sayid Jarrah or Sade, or Sadie Frost. Which one of these three?

In October 2016, He appeared on Sway in the Morning and rapped through a 5 fingers of death freestyle. After i saw this, i looked up more music by him. Apparently he does rap on his own time. The collaborative artwork is already detailed in the LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner entry. As the artists themselves have made clear [1] it appears to be frequently misreported as a one-man rally by LaBeouf, instead of a participatory artwork by the trio. Look, it's common sense that a marriage record is public but that doesn't mean any of us are going to not only pay the fee to obtain one or go searching for a non-existent license. Regarding these contested deletions by Hillbillyholiday, trimming is not an issue, but some of it should probably remain. When I get some good time, I will assess the content and give my opinion on what should be cut and what should remain. At the moment, I am busy with other matters on Wikipedia. In the early hours of February 5, 2011, he was involved in an altercation with another patron at the Mad Bull's Tavern bar in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood of Los Angeles, which resulted in the actor getting punched in the face.[9] Both LaBeouf and the unnamed patron were placed in handcuffs and questioned by a Los Angeles Police Department officer but later released with no arrest being made.[10] In 2014, LaBeouf was banned from The Local Peasant restaurant in Sherman Oaks after urinating on the wall.[11]

Can I request a registered editor undo this edit from 2016? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Shia_LaBeouf&diff=759546047&oldid=759219219. For an unknown reason, it changed "homophobic slur" to "impolite slur". All slurs, by definition, are impolite. In addition, the consensus on this talk page in 2014 was to use "homophobic slur", and no reason was given for removing a description of the nature of the slur.

I have some concerns about this. Firstly, IMDb isn't the best source, per WP:RS/IMDb. Also, the list of films is already pretty extensive; is there a way this film is particularly significant for LaBeouf, or can we maybe add this in place of a less significant film? @Doniago: I have no opinions about the way the list is formatted. There is a filmography section already, so perhaps not so much needs to be added to the lede. But with how it was formatted, this was a reasonable edit request. I’d take a look at the consensus for other actors’ pages as a starting point if you want to do some reformatting. Per WP:Citing IMDB#Disputed uses, the use of cast lists for released movies is a potentially valid use of IMBD. I think it is sufficient for a simple actor credit for film that was released a while ago. But you can find another source and change it if you want; you could cite the movie itself (based on the credits), for example. — Tartan357  (Talk) 07:32, 26 May 2020 (UTC)

On July 8, 2017, LaBeouf was arrested in downtown Savannah, Georgia at around 4 a.m. for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and obstruction.[123] After pleading no contest to the charge of disorderly conduct in October 2017, LaBeouf was found guilty of obstruction but was found not guilty of public intoxication.[124] He was sentenced to probation for one year, including time served, and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine as well as seek therapy to manage his anger and substance use issues.[124]

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, released him after he posted a $7,000 bond.[1] A bodycam footage was later released of LeBeouf making racial remarks towards police officers during his arrest. His remarks included saying to one officer, "You're going straight to hell..." and then stating "because he's a black man" when asked why by his partner. LaBeouf later apologized for his remarks citing his alcohol addiction as the reason for his outburst.[2][better source needed]
