Merging Spivey Records into here.

[edit]

Suggest merging Spivey Records into Victoria Spivey. The performer is clearly notable, but her record label wasn't notable on its own, and its article has little content. --John Nagle 17:51, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

John Nagle is currently right. Spivey Records currently has little content. However, it could be expanded into an authoritative list of records released, which would be interesting. I would do it if I had access to the right reference books. I've made a start by adding External Link to Spivey Records website. Mick gold (talk) 09:23, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pronuciation of Spivey

[edit]

Does it rhyme with "ivy" or "spivvy", anyone know? None of the other people or places with this name on Wikipedia include pronunciation. Flapdragon (talk) 16:53, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lonnie Johnson pronounces it "spivvy" when he introduces her in this video, and he should know. Ewulp (talk) 01:37, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

She sings about her life on "American Folk Blues Festival 63" disc. She calls herself "Spivvy" in the song several times. "Grant Spivey that Spivey don't lie" is the repeated phrase. ALGRIF talk 23:18, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
