Filmography changes[edit]

Rappe is incorrectly credited with appearing in Clara Kimball Young's "The Foolish Virgin" and in Arbuckle's "His Wedding Night." The Young film is lost, but was filmed at Fort Lee on the east coast during the Spring of 1916; Rappe was in Hollywood during this time.

The Arbuckle film "His Wedding Night" has recently been given a commercial release; although Virginia Rappe is credited as "pretty lady in car" neither of the two young women in the car is Virginia Rappe. This short was also filmed on the east coast at the same time that Rappe was filming Balshofer's "Paradise Garden" in Hollywood.

There is photographic evidence that Rappe appeared in "A Game Lady" and "His Musical Sneeze" but none exists for "The Kick in High Life." Although the imdb credits Rappe with appearing in the Lehrman film "Wet and Warmer," this short was shown at Cinecon this year--she does not appear in the film.Joan Myers (talk) 03:02, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know what documents verified her true birth year as 1891? She gives various different birth years on many documents such as the 1920 Census:

pronunciation[edit]

Is it RUP-ay or ruh-PAY? kwami 06:52, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is correctly pronounced "Rap-PAY." It is a Swedish (or ultimately Germanic) name. Sorry for not responding more quickly, I did not see this until today.Joan Myers (talk) 03:02, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Original Sun Kist Raisin Model?[edit]

I thought that I had once read that she was the original model for Sun Kist raisins. Can anyone confirm this? 70.246.239.34 (talk) 22:46, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Information[edit]

I was watching an episode of bio HD's Haunted History entitled "Haunted Hollywood" original air date of 08/25/2000 which included information on Virginia Rappe. It peaked my interest, and I discovered discrepancies with the Wikipedia article compared to that of the television program. The television program reported her birth as 1895, and her death at the age of 25, not 30. They showed a picture of her headstone. The wikipedia article lists her birth as 1891. The article also claims there were 3 trials, when, according to the television program, there were only 2 trials. I don't know how to correct this, but I wanted to make you guys aware of the two errors of the article. Amy C-H 2/19/201172.191.55.230 (talk) 21:18, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There were three trials. The first was 10-2 for aquittal, the second was 10-2 for conviction, the third was a unanimous acquittal. I would suggest that it's Haunted History that is in error, rather than the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.193.128.193 (talk) 04:38, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a picture of her headstone, which appears to verify the 1895 date: http://www.seeing-stars.com/imagepages/virginiarappegravephoto.shtml Of course, headstones can be wrong too. John2510 (talk) 20:55, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong birth yaer[edit]

Her tombstone says she was born in 1895 making her 26 years old when she sadly passed away! Her wiki page says she was born in 1891 making her thirty! Please correct the inaccurate information for this beautiful lady gone too soon! 2601:681:4503:AB10:35EA:F2D3:9D79:D09 (talk) 22:24, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

She was born in 1891 according to her birth certificate. I got it from Familysearch, which I did provide.

Graves and tombstones were not sources as they were listing wrong years, wrong names and anything. I guess you can’t check the Familysearch link because you cannot accessing her birth certificate. While Familysearch may not be perfect and yes not reliable, it did provide documents such as censuses and birth certificates that resolving birthdate disputes. Illegal abortion[edit]

I heard she actually died because of a botched abortion. 47.138.92.43 (talk) 08:03, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
