Ok - why should an article about Water Contamination in a town lead off with a bunch of quotes about how terrific the mayor is? Carlo (talk) 17:48, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The point is that the mayor was touted as one of the best in America, when actually he was a criminal. Irony. — goethean 14:34, 24 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why would you LEAD with irony? You lead with the story. Carlo (talk) 16:51, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't lead with irony. The lead paragraph has no irony in it. It is factual and straight-forward. The rest of the article is chronological. First, the town was described as "The Best-run Town in America." Later, it was found out that the mayor had been poisoning the town's citizens. If you would like to re-arrange the article, you are free to do so. — goethean 18:04, 6 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reads like a newspaper article

[edit]

Can we get rid of some/most/all of the quotations? And we don't have to state which newspaper said things unless it is reeealy relevant. -- Alan Liefting (talk) - 06:45, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Conclusion?

[edit]

Here is a link to what appears to be the resolution of this fiasco. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010-12-10/health/ct-met-crestwood-settlement-20101210_1_mayor-robert-stranczek-drinking-water-water-bills

I am not qualified to really modify this article. Robert Herald robert.heraldATatt.net — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.237.12.163 (talk) 19:20, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

How much perchloroethylene?

[edit]

How much perchloroethylene was there? I'd like to know any or all of the following:

  • How much released by the dry cleaners?
  • How much was pumped into the water supply (total?) (per year?)
  • Parts per million in the water?

What a mess!

[edit]

When did this article become such a mess? At the moment its first sentence is "In April 2009, Tim Janecyk and Tricia Krause reached out to the local newspapers..." which makes no sense and is a horrible way to start a Wikipedia article.

The contents are so dizzyingly complicated and intricate, I almost wonder if this page was set up to deliberately confuse and obfuscate the facts of the case.

Someone needs to take a strong hand to this page. It desperately needs clearing out and clarification. Artemis-Arethusa (talk) 01:12, 18 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
