Stanhope Medal, Chandos Scudamore Scudamore Stanhope[edit]

Stanhope Medal
Stanhope Medal
  • ... that the Stanhope Medal (pictured) is awarded annually for that year's most gallant rescue, and is in memory of Chandos S. Stanhope who showed extraordinary heroism during his life of 48 years?

Created by Doug Coldwell (talk). Self-nominated at 15:28, 2 July 2016 (UTC).

General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: No - Could be better. I'd like to see the name "Chandos Scudamore Scudamore Stanhope" used in full as it's quite interesting.
Image: Image is freely licensed, used in the article, and clear at 100px.

QPQ: No - For a double DYK, two QPQs are needed, I believe. Also, the first one seemed weak as the hook was subsequently challenged.
Overall: Kudos for starting these topics which look quite promising. I'll try to help out myself. Andrew D. (talk) 15:32, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

  • @Andrew Davidson: Thanks for the review and the comments about the article. Added another QPQ. Yes, I used American English for the article since I am the creator and am from northern Michigan (United States). Chandos Scudamore Scudamore Stanhope shows I contributed 100% and Stanhope Medal I contributed 98.6% of the text for the article. We each see it in a different color. Submitting alternate hook.
We're just about there now, thanks. The hook could use a trim so it's easier to read. I suggest:
I can't approve my own hook but if Doug and I can agree on something like we should be good to go. Andrew D. (talk) 06:29, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
  • ALT2 sounds good to me. I'm withdrawing my original hook and ALT1. --Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:36, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
  • Article issues have been resolved and is ready for a new review for ALT2.--Doug Coldwell (talk) 10:36, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Doug seems content with ALT2 and so we have a reasonable consensus for that hook. The other issues are all resolved now and so we're good to go. Andrew D. (talk) 12:57, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
