Everton 2010-11 Away Strip
Tubby23 (talk) 12:20, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
I need help making the new 2010-11 le coq sportif template for the Everton 2010-11 away strip
Here is a link for the kit: http://evertondirect.evertonfc.com/stores/everton/products/kit_selector.aspx?pid=72206
There is one currently on the page but it isn't exactly right and I'm not really sure what I am doing. Thanks in advance.
Historical kits
I'm struggling to understand this. I have had a stab at adding the kit to the 1895–96 Southampton St. Mary's F.C. season but it's still a mess. Where can I find an explanation of the coding used for the colours, e.g. FFFFFF which seems to produce Red? What I am trying to get to is shown on the historicalkits website; i.e. red & white halves, with the opposite sleeves white and red, combined with dark blue shorts and socks. Is it possible to draw the kit with long sleeves? What about the length of the shorts - can this be changed? In the 1890s, they tended to cover the knees, although the team photos indicate that they were not as long as historicalkits suggests. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Trabzonspor home kit 2010-11
Hi, I need help with a kit. I can't figure out how to make this kit fit into the WP template. Here's a picture. The problem I'm having is I can't figure out how to make that deep burgundy colour. I've figured the away kit out, but I can't get this one right. Thanks. Invisibletr (talk) 20:00, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
- Aren't those the Villa home colours? Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 10:53, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yes! I'm having trouble trying to get it in a striped pattern. Invisibletr (talk) 16:47, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
- Not perfect, but what about this?
- Wow, that's spot on. I appreciate it greatly! Thank you :) Invisibletr (talk) 19:10, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

New pattern...
Hi everybody! I'd like to know if somebody could please make a generic pattern for this kind of kit (like a half upper snake) here there are a couple of pics:[1],[2],[3],[4], several teams in german lower divisions are using this model of kit, so black, white, blue and red versions of the half-snake with transparent background would be appreciated greetings and thanks in advance!! --Aguaacrobata (talk) 12:04, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

Don't try to show non-existent patterns
{{editprotected}}
Currently, when the entered pattern is wrong (e.g. it's missing underscore or hex color was entered in the pattern field), the output looks weird (see Template:Football kit/testcases), because this produces redlinks. I changed the sandbox so that it doesn't do this and categorizes articles with wrong patterns to Category:Football kits with incorrect pattern. Can some admin please implement this? Thanks. - You change the inputs to the parameters in the infobox. Starting at
|pattern_la1=
to the end of the infobox, those are all kit parameters. — Bility (talk) 21:07, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi
I am the secretery for Thurnby Nirvana FC, I am trying to change the kit colours as the ones displayed are not correct, Home kit should be All Green with a bit of red and the away strip is Red and Black Strips, Black Short and Black Socks.
Zhajat (talk) 09:33, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
- You can change the article by yourself, there is no need for the
{{edit protected}}
template, which is meant to be used when the template itself needs to be modified. The template documentation has information on how to edit the kits. User<Svick>.Talk(); 21:01, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Arms Template
my favorite team, FC Basel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Basel), just got a new primary jersey: http://gallery.fcb.ch/main.php?g2_itemId=326832 . now i was able to update the jersey except for the arms. if someone could make a template that actually looks like the sleeves for Basel's new jersey it would be appreciated. Image over-proliferation
Does anyone else think that having over 3000 different shorts images is a bit of overkill? Doesn't it kind of defeat the point of this template if we have a shorts pattern for every team in the world? This template's documentation says: "Whenever possible—for clubs of any stature—existing patterns should be used to render this template." Has this fallen by the wayside? How do we clean it up? Skirt as well as Shorts
It would be helpful if the template included an option for a skirt as well as shorts, for sports which use skirts such as badminton, camogie and field hockey. Would it be possible to incorporate it into the design? ~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cliodhna Camogie (talk • contribs) 22:55, 24 April 2012 (UTC)
- Well then they wouldn't be football kits, would they? It might be better to create a Template:Badminton kit if there's a need. Powers T 20:15, 26 April 2012 (UTC)
Any progress here beyond LtPower's smart alecky and mysoginistic response? It would be very easy to put in a skirt option. Can someone more helpful intervene?~~ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 45367 essendon (talk • contribs) 04:46, 25 June 2012 (UTC)
SVG or PNG
Does this template work only if the images are png or even if they are svg?(Sorry, saw the documentation just now). And moreover, does size of the png/svg image matter. Roshan220195 (talk) 12:04, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
- Actually, the images of shirts, arms, etc are listed in should be svg category. Wanted to make sure this template isn't affected before I start converting them. Roshan220195 (talk) 12:06, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Socks not rendering properly
I am noticing on all articles that I look at that the socks on the kit do not render properly. Instead of seeing little outlined socks, I just see big rectangles (of whatever color the socks should be) that cover the lower part of the image. - That's deliberate: it's part of a hack the template uses to generate useful alt text. A better solution is welcome; implement one in the sandbox and if it works then it can be rolled out. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 09:04, 13 May 2013 (UTC)
Bad documentation
I am really struggling to make sense of this documentation. It doesn't clarify how you specify colours for patterns such as right half. There needs to be more examples. There is also no documentation or examples for how to name patterns nor how to upload them to commons. The whole documentation needs an overhaul and provide a better step by step idiots guide to the process. I'm finding it very frustrating trying to make a kit and every team I look at to try and understand the markup has used a custom version which defeats the purpose of the template, I feel. Inexplicable error?
This edit request to Template:Football kit box has been answered. Set the |answered= or |ans= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Hi! Not so much a request, more of a bug in the system (or a server error?), that I can't get to the bottom of. The football kit box currently seems unable to "align left". See here, for example - though both kits are aligned left, they actually appear on the right of the page. Also, if you preview them next to one another, they will appear one below the other, rather than what it should be - next to one another. Thanks in advance! BigSteve (talk) 10:54, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
- The problem is not with Template:Football kit but with Template:Football kit box: there were some recent edits which have caused the
|align=
parameter to no longer be recognised. I suggest that you ask Ed g2s (talk · contribs) if this was intentional, and where the change was discussed. --Redrose64 (talk) 14:53, 13 November 2013 (UTC)- Thanks, will do! BigSteve (talk) 14:00, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

I don't think left arm should be wrapped in an <a> tag with the 'image' class.
If you hover over the image (not on this page, but on an article or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Football_kit), the only section of the template that is a link, which makes it very weird. It also makes the template be semantically incorrect (the left arm should not have the "image" class attached to it).
This is the relevant part: {{#if: {{{pattern_la|}}}|link={{!}}alt=|alt={{{alt|}}}{{!}}Team colours}}]]</div>

- @TheDJ and Plastikspork: Unless I'm misinterpreting, I think this edit request is tangentially related to Special:Diff/322945208
and Special:Diff/302520026. Is there a reason the left and right arms are different? Is this because of armbands for captains or something?— Andy W. I'm personally inclined to sync the left arm generally with the code for the right for consistency after sandbox testing. Thoughts, folks? — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 03:59, 27 May 2016 (UTC)- According to Special:Diff/322945304#Alt text update, the post by Eubulides suggests that the first image is sometimes linked for convenience. This wouldn't happen if
|pattern_la=
is not empty, but at Leicester City F.C.#Colours, crest and traditions (for example) we get a link to a very generic image on the left arm. Is this really the intended effect? — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 06:46, 27 May 2016 (UTC)- It appears the intent of Special:Diff/301939128/320952914 was to display the first image of the left arm (either the generic one or the specific one) and provide the option for
|alt=
and have hover text. However, in my browser today in 2016, this concept doesn't seem to work. I think the patch for this edit request is to suppress link (|link=
) like the other parts, similar to what I've done in the sandbox. I'm planning to act on this in about a day or two unless there's feedback from others watching these template requets. Thanks — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 08:09, 27 May 2016 (UTC)- Done. Links (to File:Kit left arm.svg) are now suppressed. Any issues, please ping. — Andy W. (talk · ctb) 05:15, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

- OLLSZCZ, you can try at WT:Graphics Lab. It's possible that you can find the patterns in Template:Football kit/pattern list or in c:Category:Association football kit body, c:Category:Association football kit shorts, but there are so many to look through. It would be helpful to have an image of the kits that you are trying to replicate, and not just a links to articles with the kits that are incorrect. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 17:39, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

2013-14 kits. The kits were exactly the same but with opposite colours. The other kit was the keeprs.[1] This one shows the 2013-14 home kit with the sock pattern. The green away kit just had plain socks.[2]
2012-13 kits. The home kit was the same used the year later, they just had a yellow sponsor on the first version. The Away kit has slight hoops, with a slightly different green. The away socks were again just plain green. The other kit was the keeprs.[3]
2014-15 kits. 2 angles provided. The home was the green kit, away was white, and third was red. Official released photo [4] and a photo from the front.[5]
2015-16 kits. Home kit[6][7] the away kit wasnt used so much, so its hard to find good photos.[8][9]
2016-17 kits. The home was the white with green stripes, it had a kind of gradient feel to it, if thats the right word to use.[10] The official presentation. Away is green, third is red. The away and third are plain, apart from the white detail. Sometimes in games the green away kit wore green socks.[11]
2017-18 kits. Home and Third kit already made. The away is the green kit.[12]
2019-20. Home and Away already made. The third kit used for this could be the same as the 2016-17 as they're so similar.[13]
Thank you.
Update: Plastikspork - Is it common for the c:Category:Association football kit body and c:Category:Association football kit shorts to always be under maintenance? I'm having trouble viewing anything other than a maintenance page.
