Hello and thanks for your message. I'm afraid I know nothing about DYK, whether the article is worthy of nomination, what the criteria would be or the nomination procedure. (And I'm not really interested in finding out). I have some issues with your recent additions, thanks for your efforts BTW, but those sports you have mentioned are not traditionally team sports, such as football, cricket, rugby etc. There would need to be some clarification as to how those now included could be considered team sports. It is true to say that in some sports where participants come together as a group to represent an entity (such as a school or university) but compete as individuals, said group would be referred to as a team. But it is not a 'team' in the conventional sense where two or more compete together to defeat an opposing team. To take your example, I believe in the American educational system a school etc. might have a wrestling 'team' but it does not compete as a team, each member participating as an individual. I also note that the clarification tag requesting information as to how computer games can qualify as team sports has been removed but without the issue being resolved. Again, thanks for your edits and if you could find a way to make the additions more relevant it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Regards, Eagleash (talk) 10:40, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

Ms Sarah Welch Thanks for the edits. I made some small edits. I propose this hook for posting on DYK ... that the Sariraka Upanishad (pictured) states that a body is a composite of pṛiṭhvī or earth and four mahābhūṭas –agni or fire, vayu or air, and akasha or cosmic space?
Probably We can reopen the Varaha Upanishad on DYK or post it GAN, now that you have done extensive edits. Do you have any suggestion for a hook for the Narayana Upanishad?--Nvvchar. 04:35, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Nvvchar: The Sariraka Upanishad is in good shape for DYK, go ahead with your nomination. We should wait on Varaha Upanishad, as a few subsections need more work. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 05:52, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- Ms Sarah Welch For the Narayana Upanishad, I suggest the following two hooks for DYK.Nvvchar. 09:44, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
ALT1 ...that according Paul Deussen, the Narayana Upanishad (pictured Narayana or Vishnu) can be described as "cult of formula", where meditation shifts from objects and philosophy to that of a specific formula?
ALT2... that the Narayana Upanishad states that one who worships the formula, "Om Namo Narayanaya", goes to Vishnu's (pictured) heaven, and becomes free from birth and samsara?
- @Nvvchar: Good ideas. Consider formula -> formula (mantra). How about an ALT2 for Sariraka Upanishad: "... that the Sariraka Upanishad is a Hindu Upanishadic text on human physiology, stating that the "human body is a composite of constituent elements", and "human soul is the lord of the human body". Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 14:30, 27 October 2015 (UTC)
- Ms Sarah Welch Hook suggestion for DYK ...that according to Bhikshuka Upanishad the simple lifestyle of the four monk types (pictured) is to subsist by eating eight mouthful of food daily? You may like to suggest an alternative.Nvvchar. 11:20, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- No obvious ALT for Bhikshuka. The article is in reasonable shape for DYK/GA review. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 15:10, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- Now that Bhikshuka Upanishad has appeared on DYK main page, do you want me to post it on GA and also Devi Upanishad which has also appeared on DYK. I was busy whole of last month with Wikipedia: November 2015 where I posted 55 articles of 33 countries. I am now fairly free to do any other Upanishad of your choice.Nvvchar. 07:45, 2 December 2015 (UTC)
- No obvious ALT for Bhikshuka. The article is in reasonable shape for DYK/GA review. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 15:10, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Interesting?
[edit]I am sure you need another project to do like a hole in the head, but I ran across this and found it very interesting. [1] "Mitter Bedi almost single-handedly built up industrial photography in India" sounds like a DYK hook if I ever heard of one. I was actually looking for a Canadian woman when I found this. SusunW (talk) 07:30, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I will do it.--Nvvchar. 09:54, 28 October 2015 (UTC)
- SusunW I have completed the article. You may like to add and post it on DYK, please Nvvchar. 14:20, 28 October 2015 (UTC)

DYK for Umaid Bhawan Palace
[edit]On 28 October 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Umaid Bhawan Palace, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Umaid Bhawan Palace was constructed in 1928 to assist famine-stricken farmers by employing 2,000 to 3,000 people as builders? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Umaid Bhawan Palace. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, live views, daily totals), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page. |

The revisions I had in mind for Varaha Upanishad are now complete. RhinoMind and you are welcome to revise, update, add to it; if and when appropriate, feel free to submit it to a DYK/GA review. Thanks for withdrawing the article from DYK a few days ago, back then I felt it was not ready. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 17:04, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Ms Sarah Welch: It is very detailed and long for a re-review in DYK. I, therefore, prefer to post it on GA. The lead should not have any references and can you pl see if this can be done conveniently by shifting the references to the main section.--Nvvchar. 01:07, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Nvvchar: Is there an article size limit for DYK? Since you have the experience, go ahead move the references from lead into main. The main could benefit from your quality check too. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 01:13, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Ms Sarah Welch: There is no restriction on the length of the articles in DYK as long GA articles are also posted. But I have never asked for re-review after withdrawing a DYK nomination. I find it difficult to remove the references from the lead as text in the lead will have to be repeated. I will go through the article again for any minor edits (it is very well written now for me to add anything more) and then post it to DYK. As there was a lot of controversy on the many hooks considered in the earlier review, do you have any suggestion for the hook with the revised text? Nvvchar. 02:14, 30 October 2015 (UTC)

I moved some text, removed all references in the lead, and trimmed it. Feel free to add some text back. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 03:35, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Ms Sarah Welch: Thank you very much for shifting the references from the lead. The lead is now within 1500 ch limit for GA. I will post it on GAN and also for DYK re-review. The hook suggestion for DYK ALT7 is ....that according to the Varaha Upanishad (Varaha pictured) the entire universe is created only by the Sankalpa (a thinking process), which is the causative factor for the visible phenomenon of the world?Nvvchar. 04:30, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Ms Sarah Welch: I have nominated on GAN. For DYK I have asked for the procedure to follow for the renomination.
- @Nvvchar: I reworded it a bit and added more source details.
- Perhaps ALT7: ...the entire universe evolves by thinking process, one becomes what one thinks, metaphysics affects physics.
- ALT8: ...to an ignorant man, the world is filled with misery; while, to a wise man, it is full of bliss. Ms Sarah Welch (talk) 13:37, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- Ms Sarah Welch Please see User:BlueMoonset talk page. This article can be posted only after it is approved as GA as it is a now considered as a new article in view of total chanage in its structure. Let us wait for GA review.Nvvchar. 01:49, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
