Proposed deletion of Yulia Pochynok[edit]

The article Yulia Pochynok has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (biographies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 05:37, 12 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Yulia Pochynok for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Yulia Pochynok is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yulia Pochynok until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. agtx 19:39, 18 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Be careful with dab pages![edit]

I see you are creating a lot of disambiguation (dab) pages out of redirects, but I’m sorry to say they are not correct. Please read WP:DAB and MOS:DAB, and understand those pages thoroughly before making any more. Many times, the redirects have many incoming links and, since dab pages should have NO incoming links, it leaves a lot of work for other editors to do. Thanks! — Gorthian (talk) 06:13, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Thank you for your comments. I will try to do the right thing. --Микола Василечко (talk) 08:01, 7 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Beremiany, Kolomyia Raion moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Beremiany, Kolomyia Raion, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. July 2018[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Verbivka. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. The editor whose username is Z0 18:16, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Z0: Why do users cancel my edits? I have clearly indicated that there are many villages with a name Verbivka? --Микола Василечко (talk) 18:19, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes there might be, but these villages do not have their own Wikipedia article so creating a disambiguation page about them is inappropriate. Disambiguation pages are to list down Wikipedia articles for navigation purposes not to list down possible places that could exist but are not verified because they do not have an article. The editor whose username is Z0 18:21, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I created a page Verbivka, Borshchiv Raion. Where to write it for disambiguation? --Микола Василечко (talk) 18:24, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Verbivka (disambiguation) but it should have at least 2 blue links per WP:DAB. The editor whose username is Z0 18:27, 21 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

United territorial community is the common English name of these units (as far as I know)[edit]

Hi and thanks for creating Ternopil Hromada! As you may, or may not know in English Wikipedia article titles are based on how reliable English-language sources refer to the article's subject. In all English language sources I have come across about the new Ukrainian administrative unit they are called United territorial community. Hence I moved Ternopil Hromada to Ternopil United territorial community (also for consistency (which I find very important in Wikipedia) with the article on Chkalovs'ke United territorial community. On Talk:Decentralisation in Ukraine there is a small discussion on the name that you can join if you want to. — Yulia Romero • Talk to me! 20:43, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Доброго вечора! Чому ви відмінили моє редагування? Правильна назва категорії - Category:Zolotyi Potik settlement hromada, українською - uk:Категорія:Золотопотіцька селищна громада. Delasse (talk) 21:15, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Вітання! А чого ви нахабно знищуєте мій внесок, ставлячи створену категорію на вилучення і створюючи нову замість того, щоб перейменувати? --Микола Василечко (talk) 21:18, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Перепрошую якщо це виглядало нахабним. Перейменовувати категорії тут неможливо, на жаль Delasse (talk) 21:20, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
А щодо вірної назви громад - то є офіційні правила передачи англійською - [1]. Також була досить довга дискусія - Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ukraine#Types of hromadas Delasse (talk) 21:23, 18 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
My Ukrainian is far from perfect, but do I understand correctly that the idea was to move categories rather than empty them and create new ones? If this is the case, they should be repopulated and moved to WP:CFD (ideally as one discussion). Note that Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Speedy exists but likely will be objected in this case. Courtesy pinging Liz who processes most of the speedies and who turned my attention to hromada categories.--Ymblanter (talk) 05:39, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Ymblanter @Liz oh, thank you for the explanation. If the problem is in preserving the revisions histories, then I have no objections to you deleting my categories and renaming the old ones. I deem that repopulation back is not so practical, because I also did some sort of sorting. If ok, can you then do the deletions and the movings? somehow I do not have the option move for the categories in enwiki as I have such an option in ruwiki. Thus I thought that your policy is to just repopulate and tag for deletion as empty... Delasse (talk) 07:08, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
We can merge the categories, no problem, but it would help if you could create a list of what you think should be merged.--Ymblanter (talk) 07:10, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for you additions, but better sources than YouTube will be needed to make it presentable for the Main page, which is the goal. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:25, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! @Gerda Arendt: I added links to the sources of the article from goverment sites various councils of different levels different regions of Ukraine. There are many such sources from official sites. But now is not the time to look for them. We are defending our country from the Russian occupiers. --Микола Василечко (talk) 08:49, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I thank you, and bringing it to the Main page is my small contribution, and for that purpose, it needs the sources, thank you for having added them. We also need a bit more prose, - can you write more such as about what made the authors write it - or other history, perhaps based on what the sources say that we have already. I can look for more recordings. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:56, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
«what made the authors write it» - Please translate it from the Ukrainian Wikipedia, a history section. I do not write well in English. Thank.--Микола Василечко (talk) 09:24, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
yes, but I trust a native speaker more than a translation program, - I suggest you write in English, and Dan and I will check and correct if needed. Did you now that I took the pic of the choir? It was on the Main page in 2016. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:08, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also trust a native speaker more than a translation program. I write in English separate words or groups of words. «Did you now that I took the pic of the choir?» - sorry I do not understand this question. Write a question again in other words. --Микола Василечко (talk) 10:16, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Did you know that I made the photograph - or pic(ture) - of OREYA? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:59, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
This File:2009 OREYA St. Martin Idstein.jpg. Yes. I see. --Микола Василечко (talk) 15:32, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Gerda Arendt: I added a translation text from Ukrainian Music Encyclopedia. Please correct spelling/orthography. --Микола Василечко (talk) 11:06, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, that's great and offers much more perspective. I rearranged a bit for chronology, and named a reference to be used several times. Please check if it appears all this and also if I understood you right. Do we have a reference for the withdrawal in 1999, or should we just drop that sentence? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:56, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I do not know. I did not find the source of such information. --Микола Василечко (talk) 15:32, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please check my changes for accuracy. Can you please use the source under Sources as inline citation, like the others? I found recording, recent, could you please insert some. I need to go until later today. We are getting closer! Dan also, perhaps? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:00, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will look at it later today. Thank you for your edits, Микола, and stay safe! DanCherek (talk) 13:38, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

3 March[edit]

We have the article in two more languages now. What do you think of translating articles about the Ukrainians mentioned here? If yes, make a list here, and I'll translate. I want to write about a singer today (see my user page), and may need your help because I found little in English. - We had a prayer service yesterday evening, in the church where OREYA performed several times. Playlist on my talk. One song title translates to "Let us take the necessary steps." - however small. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:46, 3 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

March songs

Thank you for help with Prayer for Ukraine, we couldn't do it without someone who knows the language! - Listening to the charity concert mentioned here. Now, you can also listen on YouTube, and more music, the piece by Anna Korsun begins after about one hour, and the voices call "Freiheit!" (freedom, instead of "Freude", joy). Music every day, pictured in songs. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:39, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

St. Patrick's Day, more music and today's sunset - how are you? - I began Lyudmila Shirina, - some sources are gone, some were possibly never there, - help welcome. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:17, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Prayer for Ukraine[edit]

On 23 March 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Prayer for Ukraine, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the 1885 spiritual anthem Prayer for Ukraine was performed by a choir from New York on Saturday Night Live? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Prayer for Ukraine. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Prayer for Ukraine), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Precious[edit]

Ukraine

Thank you for quality articles about Ukrainian villages, beginning with Zhnyborody in 2015, including navboxes, categories and page moves, for expert language help to others who also care about Ukrainian topics, for adding sources, - Микола, Prayer for Ukraine, you are an awesome Wikipedian!

You are recipient no. 2719 of Precious, a prize of QAI. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:49, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Дякую. / Thank! --Микола Василечко (talk) 18:05, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please check out Oksana Shvets (on the same Main page), Artem Datsyshyn, and - work in progress - the Molodyy Theatre. That needs references, could you add? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:19, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Lyudmila Shirina - today this would have to become longer to be eligible for DYK. It's tricky for me to search for sources - not much in English. We'd need references for her awards - People's Artist of Ukraine! - and all these roles, - and then some more text. Looking forward! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:38, 24 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Vasylechko moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Vasylechko, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
