Delete?[edit]

Why are you going to delete me? :-(

Hi[edit]

Hi Thank you! GirthSummit (blether) I promise to keep in touch if I need help!

Thanks[edit]

Thanks GirthSummit (blether) I didn't know. Sorry.

That's alright - you're new, no harm done. Do read through the links I gave you though, they explain how to get started here pretty well. Happy editing - I'm off to walk my dog. GirthSummit (blether) 15:55, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

What Wikipedia is not...[edit]

Hi, I initially nominated this page for speedy deletion, but I think I was wrong to do that - it's a bit harsh when you've only just created the account. However, do please follow the links above, and particularly read WP:NOTSOCIALNETWORK. Our user pages can be funny, and chatting is not forbidden, but primarily they are for discussing the work we do trying to create an encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy working here - let me know if you have any questions. (For what it's worth, I like dogs). GirthSummit (blether) 15:45, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Hi, GirthSummit (blether) I need help. I drew a picture of the size of a Giant swan, Cygnus falconeri With my own artwork, and they wouldn't except it.Can you help me?

Hi. I'm not an expert on uploading imagery - it's not something that I'v ever done. You can find a lot of guidelines at WP:Images. How did you try to submit it, and did they give you any feedback? If it's an image showing the size of the creature, it would need to be reliably sourced - you'd need to say where you got the dimensions from etc. GirthSummit (blether) 09:51, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, you should sign your posts, even on your own talkpage. You can do this quickly by typing four tildes, or using the 'Sign your posts on talk pages' button (just below the text editing area). That's useful because it allows anyone to see who has said what; also, if you don't do it, I won't receive the ping to let me know you commented. (I only saw this message because your talk page is still on my Watchlist). CheersGirthSummit (blether) 09:54, 9 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello GirthSummit (blether) 09:54, 9 October 2018 (UTC)! I don't need to add sources because i made the picture. Sorry![reply]

Peanut Butter Gamer moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Peanut Butter Gamer, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 20:19, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Peanut Butter Gamer requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. To be precise - the article was deleted after this discussion, and it was SALTed - meaning that it cannot be recreated. Unsurprisingly, that includes incarnations under slight spelling variants. Please do not try to get this into mainspace under an obfuscatory title, because it won't fly. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 02:51, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on John muir day requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://vault.sierraclub.org/john_muir_exhibit/john_muir_day/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
