Douglas Vernon Hubble[edit]
Hi 97198, How are you? It cool to see that you are creating some articles. Lets take the points one by one. The article is about Hubble who was a giant of paediatric endocrinology, he wrote several papers when he was still relatively young, which gained him a national reputation. That is exactly which is written in Munks. It has not changed. Regarding the James Spence Medal. It's because of that I'm updating this article, to bring it up to standard. Sorry I removed the entry, it would have been put back in, when I reviewed the article later today. The infobox is only half done, I was planning to do the reset today. Hi 97198, this is what your talking about, I copied a used infobox, from a previous article: author_abbrev_bot =paediatric. I couln't see it at first. It would have been caught in the article review. Lastly, the the most important point, which which is the statement, which will need to change, is He was forced to retire from Birmingham in 1968. He wasn't forced to retire. Its process. - @Scope creep: I'm not entirely sure what you mean (I think some things may have been lost in translation, as it seems English isn't your first language). There is nothing wrong with the way Munk's Roll lists qualifications – all people on the roll have numerous qualifications which have different acronyms, but they should not be mistaken for prizes. For what it's worth, regarding your last message, I've been on Wikipedia for over 10 years and I've written hundreds of articles (listed here), only a small proportion of which are related to medicine. 97198 (talk) 12:37, 24 January 2018 (UTC)
- Your right, My first language is Scots. How did you know :) Me too, except most of mine are military, and Scots history, and bays and lochs, of Scotland like this Strachur Bay article I'm doing. Found out last night that Chopin had visted the place for a week, in 1848, which is truly astounding. WP is vast. It's all islands of communication, in a vast ocean. Take a look at this article, which I made earlier: Alan Moncrieff. New Year Backlog Drive results:
- We made massive progress during the recent four weeks of the NPP Backlog Drive, during which the backlog reduced by nearly six thousand articles and the length of the backlog by almost 3 months!
General project update:
- ACTRIAL will end it's initial phase on the 14th of March. Our goal is to reduce the backlog significantly below the 90 day index point by the 14th of March. Please consider helping with this goal by reviewing a few additional pages a day.
- Reviewing redirects is an important and necessary part of New Page Patrol. Please read the guideline on appropriate redirects for advice on reviewing redirects. Inappropriate redirects can be re-targeted or nominated for deletion at RfD.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October![edit]

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.
The AfroCine Project welcomes you to October, the first out of the two months which have been dedicated to creating and improving content that centre around the cinema of Africa, the Caribbean, and the diaspora. Beethoven[edit]
Could you perhaps, instead of replacing a slot meant to picture Beethoven at the beginning of the year which is his 250th anniversary, work towards approval, by approving one of the many possible hooks, or at least wording a new one? - There is no specific reason to picture Beethoven in this particular set. The whole year of 2020 is the 250th anniversary year, nothing special about 1 January. 97198 (talk) 09:56, 30 December 2019 (UTC)
- I see it differently: for me, 1 January is a mood-setting day. - Funny: on the German Wikipedia, I have a similar struggle, a New Year's cantata (which I nominated for someone else) possibly not shown on 1 Jan because we just had so much about music.
