[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Arney Fender Katsalidis, and I noticed that your username, "ARNEY FENDER KATSALIDIS", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. [edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. MER-C 11:45, 30 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Diannaa (talk) 01:17, 1 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The 3 principles stated above are understood. Please keep the 'Arney Fender Wikipedia' page removed as there is no purpose by the user to use Wikipedia as a promotional platform. It would also be kindly requested to notify the editor of the '100 Bishopsgate' page to update the entry data under 'Architects' in order to correspond to the data on the external link of the same page <http://www.100bishopsgate.com/the-team.html>. Please advise what is the desired protocol to suggest edits of pages instead of amending them.

Decline reason:

You still need to supply a username that is acceptable, and easily identifies you as an individual, not an organisation, that makes all your edits clearly accountable for you. As far as editing 100 Bishopsgate, put your suggestions on the talk page. I'm doing quite a bit of work on improving London Street articles at the moment (eg: Park Lane, Oxford Street) so any help on the streets part of it would be very much appreciated. Thank you Richie333, your notes are very helpful. I am glad to contribute on any London articles as far as I possess accurate knowledge on missing info. I hope the suggested username is acceptable.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. PhilKnight (talk) 21:04, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@MER-C:- would you object to an unblock? PhilKnight (talk) 22:51, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still a little skeptical, but I'm not objecting. Anthi should be aware that any further promotion of her employer will result in an immediate reblock, with likely no recourse. MER-C 03:15, 17 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @PhilKnight:, my request is added at Wikipedia:Changing username for review. @MER-C: the company uses other channels for promotion, the sole purpose of creating a Wikipedia page for our own company was because I assumed this would offer credibility to the profile requesting changes at 100 Bishopsgate. I am happy to contribute to Wikipedia offering clarifications on London and architecture topics. ARNEY FENDER KATSALIDIS (talk) 09:30, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
