Thanks for uploading File:Frank Spotnitz headshot.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. Apologies - I didn't realise I was violating any guidelines. I edited the Frank Spotnitz Wikipedia page today, as I'm Frank Spotnitz! I was simply updating my biography and adding credits for my latest show, RANSOM. Now I see that all of my credits have disappeared! Please could you reinstate them? Dear Acbandini, you obviously have a conflict of interest, which means it is a really bad idea to edit the page yourself. It is also a really bad idea to copy content from somewhere and stick it in here--it's a bad idea in TV and film, and it's a bad idea here, as well as against the law. So you will see that the edit history has been cleaned up: I had to remove many of your edits from the history. As for the "credits", if you go and reinsert those, you have to do those in a way that jives with our guidelines. If you don't know what those are, it's a good idea to learn them. Wikipedia is not a resume service, and it is not our job, though it may be our desire, to represent your work. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 01:08, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello - apologies again for this unintended COI. I'm afraid I'm still confused. Who should edit the page? My assistant has historically done it, since she best knows my work and therefore will ensure the page's accuracy. The only info that was copied was from my company's website, so the copyright is owned by me. The only things I copied from Wikipedia were links from other pages. I also followed Wikipedia's guidelines for my table of credits, which were very neatly formatted. I don't expect my Wikipedia page to be a resume - I have IMDb for that (and, indeed, you can cross-reference and confirm my credit listing there, for accuracy). Surely it's better for me - and better for Wikipedia - if my page is as comprehensive, accurate and user-friendly as possible? It's my belief that the updated page was. Am I not allowed to add anything else to the page now? My fear is also that another user may add false information to it and I don't wish to be misrepresented. Thanks again for your time and consideration.
