Speedy deletion nomination of User:Acrucx Lebelni/sandbox[edit]

A tag has been placed on User:Acrucx Lebelni/sandbox, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. COI[edit]

You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Acrucx Lebelni. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Acrucx Lebelni|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management.   • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation.   • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.

  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. Channel Institute[edit]

Hi - you removed the CSD nomination from Channel Institute a few hours ago. There are two problems with this:

  • As the speedy delete banner says, you must not remove the banner yourself from articles you have created. If you want to contest it, you must go through the 'Contest this deletion' channel, not simply remove the banner, whatever argument you intend to make.
  • Education institutions are not exempt from speedy deletion - they are only exempt from nomination under the A7 (notability) criterion - that is not the criterion that has been proposed here.

I see that another user has reinstated the speedy delete banner - please do not remove it again yourself. I still feel that even in its current state, the article is still written promotionally. I removed the COPYVIO and the most egregious stuff, but the material that remains still seems promotional to me - I think it would need to be entirely rewritten from scratch to achieve a neutral tone.

Finally, if it was going to be rewritten from scratch, I'm not convinced that the sources are good enough. This is probably the best source - it gives significant coverage, but I'm not sure whether or not the publication would be WP:RS. This is a press release - it even says at the bottom 'Source: Channel Institute' - it's not independent of the subject of the article, so not helpful. This is the exact same press release, just published on a different website - not independent. This is written by the founder of the institute - not independent. This isn't about the Channel Institute; it's about a survey, the institute just gets a brief mention - not significant coverage. I looked for better sources (significant coverage in reliable sources) when I edited the article, but I didn't find any - I just don't think there's enough material out there to build a quality article around.
