The article First Dane Rumble album has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- WP:HAMMER. If there's info from a source other than his own myspace page, then remove this prod and add the source.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Shadowjams (talk) 02:41, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
Unsigned template
Hi Adabow, I noticed that you used the unsigned template at Talk:Tasman Sea to sign comments. This is a good idea, but you used it incorrectly. See the documentation for the template: it must be substed, it must be in UTC, which is 13 hours behind New Zealand Daylight Time and 12 hours behind New Zealand Standard Time, and it must be in the <day month year> format of dates, rather than the American date format that you previously used. See my edit at Talk:Tasman Sea. Graham87 06:39, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Love_Songs_From_The_Breeze.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Love_Songs_From_The_Breeze.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 06:13, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Stand_With_You_video_screenshot.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Stand_With_You_video_screenshot.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 10:25, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Ridin' Solo
I am not deleting the page, I am simply redirecting it. While WP:NSONG does state that appearing on a chart should give a song notability, it also states: "Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album." While it's too early to know for sure if it will ever grow beyond a stub; it hasn't been announced as a single, and thus it currently is only notable for appearing on a few charts. This information can be covered in the main album article. If something does occur to make it notable, such as a music video, as you said, a restoration would be fine. However, cover art does not make a song notable. –Chase (talk) 20:08, 13 March 2010 (UTC)

Talk:Grant Park Music Festival/GA1
I have attempted to addressed all of the issues except "a section on public reception or popularity", which may take me a while to assemble. Can you strike resolved issues so I can understand how the review is progressing.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 00:28, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- I have not found much critical reception. I could add a lot of stuff from the local newspapers, which say that you can't miss this, but I don't think that is really important. Will keep my eye out for more. One other option is to discuss individual show reviews rather than thoughts about the series. However, I don't really think this is what should be in this article. One source that I see is The Grant Park Music Festival review log. However, this log may be edited.--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 19:40, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- I have to put a call in on Monday. I had expected a replacement image by now from a contact at the publicist. P.S. look at that file page. It is an official OTRS permission. We have permission to use the image although we do not have the author info. I.E., the publicist gave us consent to use one of their photos without detailing who the photographer was. I would recommend passing it and putting a note on the WP:PR, which is open at Wikipedia:Peer review/Grant Park Music Festival/archive1. I believe an image without author info still passes WP:WIAGA 6(a).--TonyTheTiger (T/C/BIO/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 00:53, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
re: Music samples
Hey. I do tons of work with audio files. I got started by looking at WP:SAMPLE. I use two apps. One for manipulating the file and the other for converting to WAV format and back to Ogg. I use Nero Wave Editor for the actual manipulation and just use Audacity for converting and reducing.
Audacity doesn't use a scale of bit rates that you can choose from. Instead, they use a scale (0 - 10). Wikipedia recommends a setting of 0 and that comes out to about 64Kbits per second. It's at Edit | Preferences then the File Formats tab. Dawnseeker2000 14:51, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Assessment
Another editor is giving me a bit of a hard time on one of my recently published articles. Amongst other things, he's talking about it being "barely past stub". To bring as much objectivity into this as possible, and given that you sometimes assess articles, would you mind having a look at Richard Molesworth Taylor and give it your assessment? And the editor has removed about 700 kb of content, which might be interesting to know as well. Schwede66 05:16, 10 May 2010 (UTC)

Hi there. Saw this nominated at GAN and thought I would drop in with some feedback, rather than doing the full review. I think it would get close to quick-failed at present. Main issues:
- lead is not a summary of the article. It contains some info that should be the introductory background of the body text, but then doesn't summarise the rest of the article at all.
- the article structure is all wrong. Look at the headings - they aren't clearly a chronology, but they aren't clearly themed either. Some sections are long, then others have only a couple of sentences
- the article has some clean-up templates
- lots of the references lack source info (eg note 46 is NZ Herald i think) and publication date of news stories
- it looks like the article is out of date in terns of any post-2006 developments
...and those issues were identified before i actually read the text itself. I'm afraid it really needs a major overhaul. Hope this is of some use. Cheers, hamiltonstone (talk) 02:11, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Good Article review of John Evans Brown
Hello - I have reviewed John Evans Brown, which you listed at the Good Article nominees page. My review of the article can be found here. As you can see, I've raised quite a few issues with the article. Before you panic/become depressed/burn me in effigy, though, here are some things to bear in mind:
- The points I raise are not necessarily all things that need to be addressed before I list it as a GA. Instead, they are things that I think could improve the article. In my view, the actual GA status is of secondary importance in the GA process; what's more important is improving the article, and I think that goal is best served by making as many suggestions as possible.
- In my experience, I'm among the most stringent GA reviewers out there, especially in the "well-written" category, where I tend to review GA and FA candidates in essentially the same way. Again, I do this because I think it's best for the article; however, if you think the points I've raised are too nit-picky or minor and you'd rather not address them, I may be willing to promote the article without them all being addressed.
- The opinions I express in my GA reviews are just that - my opinions (I also express some things, like grammatical rules or the requirements of WP:V, that are not my opinions). If you disagree with any of my opinions, please say so; you don't need to convince me that you're right, just that your position is a reasonable one.

You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 02:21, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Yo man - I just saw the work you have been doing on The Naked and Famous which I recently created - it's good stuff! I was only a teenager (18) when I got my first whiff of "wiki-crack" too - been here for coming on 5 years now! I really like that template you quickly whipped up for the band. How does one go about creating one and how do you/where can you learn what code to write to produce the desired result?
Oh and btw, a small group of us - me, Casliber and Kahuroa are getting ready to do some collab.s with the intention of pushing Kiwi towards GA and Huia from GA to FA. many hands make light work, as they say and you seem to be a highly skilled contributor - interested in joining? - I didn't create The Naked and Famous templates—Jaydend did—but I can point you in the right direction: see
{{Navbox}}
for the template to create your navbox template (for musicians a special{{Navbox musical artist}}
has been created).
- On the subject of NZ birds: I would be glad to help out with some of the more technical things, but I am not very active in biology articles (sorry!). Adabow (talk) 09:36, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
Coastal Fortifications of New Zealand
You don't seem to be aware that I've started the GA review of your article at Talk:Coastal fortifications of New Zealand/GA1.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 17:28, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- With regret I've failed your GAN for lack of response.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 00:10, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Welcome back
It was a short break, but nice that you're back. Schwede66 00:31, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
