Revisit[edit]

Dear Altruism, Please revisit Wiki. We miss you on Wiki pages. In the past few months I made lots of articles in Telugu Wiki. Read them and comment.Kumarrao (talk) 07:16, 31 August 2008 (UTC)II[reply]

Welcome back[edit]

I am delighted. I contributed lots of stuff in Telugu wiki during this period. Kept a few English articles protected. I shall translate the Telugu articles to English now on. Wish you a great going.Kumarrao (talk) 16:39, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

I really appreciate the barnstar. It made my day. Wperdue (talk) 17:28, 6 April 2009 (UTC)wperdue[reply]

Yes i have read that. My question why is it needed?. What purpose does it serve?. Then i must ask should we added Lotus at Lal Krishna Advani article to illustrate the point or anyone from the party?. I don't think anyone would care if there is picture of drum. A briefy mention of the party would be appropriate. --SkyWalker (talk) 04:48, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

BLP notice board[edit]

Replied here. Currently the article is a real mess, almost entirely unsourced. — R2 09:20, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's looking much better. I'm not sure how notable this publication is, but generally a good improvement. — R2 16:02, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kamma caste[edit]

There is lot of vandalism and unnecessary edits in the article since May 29, 2009. Could you please deep revert all the changes. I do not know how to do it.Kumarrao (talk) 13:22, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It looks great. Hope you took care of copyright related issues. N.G. Ranga and L.V.Prasad are missing. Thanks for your effort.Kumarrao (talk) 14:57, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The image is owned by me, so no copyright problems should arise. Yes, these 2 prominent personalities are missing. I probably triesd getting an image of N G Ranga but... I'll incorporate both these too, over time. --AltruismT a l k - Contribs. 15:42, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Kamma People (IMAGE)[edit]

Hi, Thanks for the Barnstar. Regarding the Kamma People I have asked for details regarding the deletion notice. Anyway I have uploaded a new/updated image .I felt the current image has lot of personalities of which most are from Movie world and also it has some Industrial House monograms/Logos. I personally feel that such commerce related images be excluded from this page. However please feel free to send me a list of prominent Kamma people to be included if you feel they are to be included. For a start my plan is that, the image plate should represent personalities from different fields and also from different eras and varying age groups .Also efforts have been taken to include female members also (at least 40%). There seems to be selective removal of images. Such a thing does not happen in other articles. Mysterious!!Kumarrao (talk) 04:16, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A tag has been placed on File:ProminentKammas.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Her original surname was "Nissankara". After her father's death, Kommareddy Venkataramaiah, husband of Savitri's Pinnamma brought her up. Obviously, Savitri's Pinnamma got married to a Kamma guy.Kumarrao (talk) 09:32, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 04:45, 20 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

One vandal has deleted the medals you gave me. Can he be warned?Kumarrao (talk) 11:04, 11 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Stop Threatening[edit]

Dear Vandal,

Stop threatening others regarding being banned. I already have informed the other vandal, regarding what information he provided was false. Please 'do' note that Wikipedia is not your personal site. Please only state facts, not your opinions.

Examples:

 • You have persistently tried to mention that Reddys are 'Hindus and Christians' which is immaterial, and also the fact is that there are many in other castes (including Kammas) who took up Christianity but was never mentioned.
 • Your comments regarding Reddy's being Shudras are your opinions but not facts
 • Your edit of specifying Ex-Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Rajashekar Reddy's death before he actually was declared dead, testifies you also provide falsified information.
 • Most of your contributions to Kamma caste are completely pompous and unnecessary.
 • Most of your edits are oriented towards elevating a few people (Reasons obviously known).

I have already given explanation to the other vandal Kumarrao, on why I removed his edits (specially to Paritala article). Your edits are disparaging and provoking a certain section of people, which was constantly reported. Please restrain from doing the above or you would be reported to Wikimedia, and your account permanently blocked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.58.223 (talk) 06:07, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please go through the para context in book[edit]

I hope you know the difference between fact and speculation. Fact is what u see or have proof and speculation is diff thing doesnt come any near to fact. I have kept the fact (what Mr Thurston saw by his eyes) and he speculated by mixing 5-6 telugu castes at a single instance (it is not accepted by telugu historians) basically its not his fault but of Madras census 1901. 1901 Madras census report is declared as farce by many telugu castes including Kammas, as it include Kammas of kammam in Kapu caste It was totally false regarding Reddys & Ayyarka patrus as it included them in Kapus though they r separate entity. 1901 Madras census cant relied and taken for granted by many telugu historians.

please go thru entire context in Thurstons, u will know better how confused he was while mixed 5-6 castes, for him Rajus meant all communities using raju title or who tried to associate with rajus. He also distinguishes kshatriya rajus as real rajus.

please go thru the 6 justifications/evidences which are already mentioned in the talk page, I hope it clarifies you, if you have any queries on those statements you can raise there. Indianprithvi (talk) 06:29, 21 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,I started this article and finished writing the Tamil Districts.I've no knowledge about the Telugu Districts and since you are an experienced editor of Telugu articles,I suggest you add them.

Raghavan(Talk) 13:27, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please go through discussion and details[edit]

Dear Altriusm, Reagrding your edit in Rajus, I hope you have not gone thru discussion page. Please go thru the points, I have mentioned several points why it is baseless with pin-point answers. History is not being considered of some single person opinion it can be totally half baked. It should be accepted by majoritarian historians and I have removed your line coz the line was composed by historian who mixed Ayaraka, yadavs, bhatrajus with rajus which is totally false.

Please go thru the entire description of the Edgar Thurston book and try to know more ab Caste in depth, you will accept he wrongly mixed 4-5 castes as single caste. I hope you are not caste fanatic like mr kumarrao who follows one set of rules for one caste and another for other communities.

Indianprithvi (talk) 18:39, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Altruism, The Indianprithvi is engaged in using derogatory and uncivil language in my talk page. He also deletes the edits made by me with proper citations. Can you do something about it?Kumarrao (talk) 15:35, 1 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Dear Altriusm,

I get a big laugh when Kumarrao talks about "deletes the edits made by me with proper citations" It was always Kumarrao who always removed my edits with appropriate Historical ref from SakuntalaDevi, He simply removed my edits (though they are genuine and accepted by all historians) without giving any rational. How come he follows one rule for Kamma page and other rules for Reddy, Rajus, Kapus etc. I induldged in proper discussion n gav the exact rational and historical evidences. I never blindly go by single historian rule I take consideration into majoritarian historians. When did taking references to historical inscriptions became derogatory (I refered to the inscriptions in Kakatiya period, AP History,(No. 260. (A. R. No. 79 of 1917.) On the proper right column of the entrance into the temple of Sitaramasvami, Errabalem, Guntur Taluk, Guntur District. S. 1135) Most of the time Mr Kumarrao never knew history of Rajus, I had corrected him several times (plz refer to earlier discussions). I am/was never against any caste & never meant so, I am just against biased n irrational theory. There will not be any issues if one follows same set of rules and rationals across wiki pages without bias. Indianprithvi (talk) 19:09, 16 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Altriusm, Thanks for the reply. simply it irritates when a good discussion has been done and closed with valid reasons/citations/rationals are being provided, but still he persists without giving reason or supporting evdence. On contrary he always reverts my edits related to Kota Kings on Kamma page(clearly mentioned as Kshatriya Rajus of Dhanunjaya gotra By Famous Telugu historian Shakuntala Devi) without giving/showing valid citation/rational. Whether it is any community one should follow the same rules. I hav positively contributed on Velama, Vaishyas and even kamma page. Personally I dont hav animity or ill intention against any community, It was just to tell that there will be odd inscriptions and odd citations and I dont believ these odd inscription/theories as they are not accepted by majoritarian historians. Cheers Indianprithvi (talk) 15:37, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Kanma (caste)[edit]

I first reverted your edit at Kanma (caste), because your edit summary didn't actually match what you did--you didn't wikify at all, and "relevant" seemed to be a way saying you didn't like the info. However, after I did that, I looked at the article in more detail, as well as the talk page, and felt that the info doesn't belong in the info--not because it isn't relevant, but because it contradicts the rest of the article and was based on only a single source. I left some more info on the article's talk page. Qwyrxian (talk) 10:23, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Jagarlamudi Kuppuswamy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I can find nothing to support the notability of this person.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File permission problem with File:Shivaji and the Marathas.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Shivaji and the Marathas.JPG, which you've attributed to Unknown author of original work that was photographed by uploader. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

 • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
 • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add OTRS pending to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as non-free fair use or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. TLSuda (talk) 23:40, 18 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Wikify: Currenct Backlog Reduction Plan[edit]

Hey, I noticed you marked yourself as a member of WikiProject Wikify and you are currently listed as active. I was wondering if you would be able to assist with our current backlog reduction plan. While traditional drives are more structured month-long sprints by WikiProject Wikify members, there is currently lacking activity within the project and in order to significantly reduce the incredible backlog, members are encouraged to review all articles marked with the Underlinked Template Message to analyze the worthiness of the template message on the given article. Articles that have nothing to link or are have had wikilinks sufficiently added should have the template removed to clear the backlog and make it easier for editors to find articles in genuine need of wikification. This can be done by any editor; however, all editors should consider joining if they haven't done so already. Thank you!

Disambiguation link notification for March 29[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited P. Jainulabdeen, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page TMMK. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Custom signature fix needed[edit]

Hi there! You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your signature contains a syntax error, specifically formatting tags that are obsolete and in the wrong order.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
 1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
 2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
 3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box.
 4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
 1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
 2. Change the signature as shown below, or make other edits to make the signature appear how you want it to appear.
 3. Click Save to update to your newly fixed signature.

Current signature:
<font face="Comic Sans MS"><span style="color:#6666FF;">Altruism</span></font><span style="color:#339966;">T a l k -</span> <span style="color:#33CCFF;">Contris.</span>

Fixed signature:
<span style="color:#6666FF; font-family:'Comic Sans MS';">Altruism</span><span style="color:#339966;">T a l k -</span> <span style="color:#33CCFF;">Contris.</span>

More information is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thanks. – Jonesey95 (talk) 18:52, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mohammed bin Sulayem to Mohammed Ben Sulayem[edit]

Dear Altruism, with all my respect, in 2007 you change the page of Mohammed Ben Sulayem in Mohammed bin Sulayem. Since then a lot of people thought that is the right version of his name. But in fact "Ben Sulayem" is the only version possible because we can't translate a name. With all the respect I have for you and for the wikipedia website that I have been using since I could use a computer, would it be possible today to give the real version of the name of Mohammed Ben Sulayem ? Have a nice day. Kind regards. Anton Aterzian75 (talk) 11:37, 19 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature and linter errors[edit]

Just a reminder that your signature contains obsolete font tags and Tidy font link bugs. They create Linter errors, and it is advised that you change your signature to <span style="font-family:Comic Sans MS;color:#6666FF">Altruism</span><span style="color:#339966">T a l k -</span> <span style="color:#33CCFF;">Contris.</span> ASAP.

The purpose of this message is because Linter errors affect the way the page looks, and with a lot of errors, the page may render badly. To reduce Linter errors, please change your signature.

If the software doesn't accept my replacement signature, let me know, and if that's the case, unfortunately you may have to change it to something else. Sheep (talk) 03:47, 30 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
