October 2020[edit]

Information icon Please stop changing the names of places in articles to different spellings to those used as our article titles, as you did in the articles on Goshainganj, Kumarganj, Faizabad, Faizabad Junction railway station and Acharya Narendra Deva University of Agriculture and Technology. We use the WP:COMMONNAME in English for our articles, not the "official" names, so changing the spelling breaks wikilinks to those articles and is confusing to our readers. Thanks.-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:01, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Kumarganj, Faizabad; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. -- Toddy1 (talk) 09:28, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to Haiderganj—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Materialscientist (talk) 10:17, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have edited more information on haiderganj Ayodhya which is in Ayodhya District but your wikipedia show now haiderganj in ambedkarnagar district. Haiderganj is in Ayodhya district.please corecct Anurag S Tiwari (talk) 10:22, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You did not provide a citation to a reliable source for this. But I have investigated, and you are right in saying that it is is (or was at the time of the 2011 census) in Faizabad district. I have changed this and provided a citation to a source that verifies this. By the way, there are sources that say that it is in Ambedkar Nagar district.-- Toddy1 (talk) 12:39, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Bikapur.
You were clearly asked NOT to change placenames in the above section, but are still doing so - please stop - Arjayay (talk) 11:48, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon This is your only warning; if you vandalize Wikipedia again, as you did at Rudauli (Assembly constituency), you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - Arjayay (talk) 12:06, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon Stop changing the names of places in articles to different spellings to those used as our article titles, as you repeatedly did in the articles on Barabanki district and other articles. We use the WP:COMMONNAME in English for our articles, not the "official" names, so changing the spelling breaks wikilinks to those articles and is confusing to our readers. Thank you for adding some useful information to the article on Haiderganj. Please could you provide citations to reliable sources for this. You say that there is a big market, shopping centres, a small government hospital, many small clinics, bank branches, and a petrol pump in the village. Please provide evidence.-- Toddy1 (talk) 13:17, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There is Canara bank branch rasulha Haiderganj,a small government hospital near hanumangarhi temple in haiderganj bazar .actually you cannot say it as a village it is equal to small town. Now I am in Mumbai city but you can search. I am 100% sure I am full correct because I am from there. If at present time I am in karaundi I go to haiderganj and send you the photos of that. So I am fully right you can believe me. And please Sir on haiderganj title is changed to Haiderganj, Ayodhya or Haiderganj,Faizabad.thank you Sir. I am from Ayodhya district thats why I correct the information so believe me I will edit only correct information.thank you very much sir Anurag S Tiwari (talk) 13:30, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to start an article on the village of Karaundi in Faizabad district, the best thing to do is to start it as a draft - Draft:Karaundi, Faizabad district. Here is an example of a draft article: Draft:Triumph Tiger 900 (2020). I know you would like to call the district using the 'A' word, but Wikipedia uses the 'F' word. -- Toddy1 (talk) 11:37, 27 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Using Indic script in article leads / infoboxes[edit]

Please don't continue to add names in Indic script to India related articles. It's been disruptive in the past and the solution is to not include them. You can read more at WP:INDICSCRIPT. Thank you. Ravensfire (talk) 21:37, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kurwar Sultanpur moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Kurwar Sultanpur, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Placenames - again[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Administrative divisions of Uttar Pradesh.
You have repeatedly been asked not to change place names in our articles, and blocked for disruptive editing, yet you have resumed changing place names, please stop before you are blocked again - Arjayay (talk) 09:49, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think that this edit was an acceptable edit. And if you use the article talk page to explain the edit, I will support you in saying that. But you need to use the article talk page: Talk:Administrative divisions of Uttar Pradesh. Just making variants of the same edit over and over again gets you pegged as an edit-warrior.-- Toddy1 (talk) 10:10, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Need for verifiable information[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Toddy1. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Haiderganj, but you didn't provide a reliable source. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. -- Toddy1 (talk) 05:55, 31 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
