Welcome!

Hello, Biker488, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Connor and Owen Fielding, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard. Thank you.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Fram (talk) 09:21, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Connor and Owen Fielding has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Fram (talk) 09:21, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see how I was not reliable. Biker488 (talk) 22:42, 20 May 2010 (UTC)]][reply]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Connor and Owen Fielding. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Connor and Owen Fielding. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 24 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Warriors movie[edit]

The claims of a Warriors movie are currently a rumour, and nothing more. Unless you can find reliable proof of this, do not claim there will be a movie. Thanks, Brambleclawx 00:56, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why does everything I make get deleted? I made an article about Connor and Owen Fielding, and it got deleted to. Plus, there IS going to be a Warriors movie, and Zac Efron has already been cast as Graystripe. -Biker488 P.S. You spelled rumor wrong.

As a matter of fact, I spelled rumour correctly the Canadian way. Connor and Owen Fielding were not considered important enough for an article. Think about it this way: could we have an article about every single person on Earth? Probably not, because some people won't have done anything particularly interesting. So a line needs to be drawn as top who's notable enough for an article, and who is not. Evidently, the people in question had acted in only one film and had not received much attention, so they were not considered notable subjects. And please, where did you get you information for this warriors movie? I'd love to know, because if it is true, I would be very excited to see it. Brambleclawx 21:56, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I refuse to tell you where I got the info, because it is just a rumor, not rumour, apparently. And also, who cares if we have an article about every single person on earth? Does it really matter? -Biker488

It doesn't matter, which is my point made. Having an article that nobody matter about is absolutely useless, so it's better to not have an article at all. As for the rumour/rumor, Wikipedia policy says that we should not include rumours/rumors in articles, unless they have been proven correct by a reliable source. Brambleclawx 22:41, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Even if we shouldn't put RUMORS in our articles, it still is spelled rumor. And even if it IS Canadian, then we are not in Canada. So HA! -Biker488

I'm in Canada. You might not be, but I am. Brambleclawx 22:49, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I've been to Canada, and they spell it R-U-M-O-R. -Biker488 P.S. Do you think anyone is watching us fight about RUMORS?

That's because some people in Canada now just spell things the US way, because they are exposed to American media all the time. Wiktionary's entry for rumor states that rumour is used in UK, the Commonwelath (which Canada is a part of), and Internationally. I am not fighting with you about rumours/rumors, just having a nice, pleasant discussion about it, and I doubt anyone is looking at this, unless my talk page stalkers are watching me. Brambleclawx 22:59, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I just looked up rumour on Wikipedia, and an article came up called, "Rumors." And, um, are we having a pleasant discussion? What are talk page stalkers? -Biker488 please reply!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-biker488

I meant Wiktionary, not Wikipedia. And if you follow the link I gave, you'll find out what a talk page stalker is. Brambleclawx 00:33, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I found out what a talk page stalker is, and hopefully there are none here. I decided to tell you where I got the Warriors info. It may be a rumor, but there HAS to be a warriors movie at one time or another! The website is http://www.pictures-of-cats.org/warrior-cats-movie.html. -Biker488

I agree that it's quite likely that a Warriors movie will be made at some point. But there are no official plans yet, so we can't claim anything on the Wikipedia article. Brambleclawx 21:52, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is official plans!!!!!!!! Walden Media has bought the rights from Erin Hunter, Zac Efron has been cast as Graystripe, Rihanna as Bluestar, and Elijah Wood as Firestar! -Biker488 P.S. Did you see the link?

This rumour has been around forever (at least a year and a half by now). If it were true, either Walden Media would have made an announcement that would definitely be covered by some newspaper, or one of the so-called voice actors would have mentioned it. As nothing has been mentioned, and no official trailers are yet available, I still do not believe a movie is in thw works. Even Victoria Holmes (one of the ERin Hunters)has stated that no Warriors movie is yet in the works, and I believe she has said that they are still looking for a producer. Brambleclawx 22:20, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Victoria Holmes (I know she is one of the Erin Hunters. I am a HUGE fan, and I'm guessing you are too.) said that a while ago. Walden Media has claimed the rights to produce it, and this happened RECENTLY. Although it used to be a rumor/rumour, now it is completely real! I don't think they will post it on the Walden Media website or the Warrior Cats website since this has just happened! -Biker488

Er... when and where did Vicky say that? Brambleclawx 23:58, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, SHE didn't say it. I think it was Walden Media that claimed the rights and they have started to hire voice actors! I have no idea about when and where but I know it happened. This happened recently, as I said before, so please don't expect it to be in the paper!!!!!! -Biker488

Well... Ok. The kind of person I am though, I won't believe it until I see it officially announced. I see you've joined the Warriors Wikiproject! Brambleclawx 00:09, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I think that what Brambleclawx is trying to say is RELIABILTY and Citing Sources Even is you have a source to prove something is it truly reliable? If you can prove the Warriors movie with a reliable accurate source it would be fine. However, since Vicky has said there is no current movie plans as per the quote on the Warriors page, you would need a very good source. I am not saying the movie is not impossible, only unlikely. There have been a lot of rumors(I don't care how it's spelled), but there should not be information without sources. I'm not sure, but shouldn't Biker 488 sign his/her posts with the time and user name? Derild4921Please sign my guestbook! 00:19, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Um... yes. Biker488, if you read WP:SIG#Internal links, it says that your signature should have at least one link, either to your user page, your talk page, or your contributions log. Brambleclawx 22:22, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To Derild4921: Does it really matter? Also, who are you with on rumors/rumours?User: Biker488 To Brambleclawx: Yes I have joined after reading your user page. This is pretty cool!

Did anyone here see my link? Here it is again.http://www.pictures-of-cats.org/warrior-cats-movie.html. -User:Biker488

I cant seem to get this right!!! How do I sign my name with a link to my user page without it saying "User:" in front of it? -User:Biker488

try inserting [[User:Biker488|Biker488]] (do not include the "nowiki" stuff). It should work. Plus, the comment that mentions WP:SIG#Internal Links was from me, except I forgot to sign it, which is a mistake I shouldn't be making; sorry about the confusion. Brambleclawx 22:22, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. Thanks! Let me try it. Biker488

Thanks so much! It worked! Biker488

No problem! Oh, and I removed the list of erin hunter tours from to-do, because it's gonna be impossible to write a good article out of that. Sorry that you happened to pick that as your first task. i should've removed it ages ago. Brambleclawx 22:27, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, it's okay. I just realized it a second ago! I'll try to improve it, but you're right! It is kinda hard to write an article about it. I found the info on http://www.wandsandworlds.com/community/node/4062, so maybe you could try.Biker488

Its probably not going to work out as an article. I suppose it's just best to forget it. Try your hand at something else on the list maybe? Brambleclawx 22:34, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alright. But we might as well try, so how about putting the website on the WikiProject Warriors page so maybe someone else will try? I'll give up trying myself though. -Biker488

Biker, are you signing by typing four tildes? (~~~~) That's the normal way to do it, since it also inserts a timestamp, which basically tells us when a comment was made. You might want to try that. Brambleclawx 01:39, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Sorry. Biker488 (talk) 22:39, 20 May 2010 (UTC)]][reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Kidpub[edit]

A tag has been placed on Kidpub requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. --cocomonkilla (talk) (contrib) 22:26, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Welcome, Biker488, to WikiProject Warriors. Thank you for joining, and we look forward to your contributions. As you may know, we work on improving any article related to Warriors. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to post it on the project's talk page! ~~~~

Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

A tag has been placed on List of Erin Hunter tours requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Erin Hunter tours[edit]

I'm not convinced that there's any encyclopedic value in listing a set of cities that Erin Hunter has visited, presumably for book promotions. Would you mind reconsidering your approach to new articles? Take a look at WP:YFA to see what's encouraged and why random lists of things aren't. Acroterion (talk) 22:28, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, sure. Me and Brambleclawx have been talking about it. Here is where I got the info. Maybe you could try making an article about it. http://www.wandsandworlds.com/community/node/5669 I am a member of WikiProject Warriors, and this was requested. It is hard to make an article about this. Biker488
Well, it is pretty hard to make an article about a book tour - probably impossible, since unless something very unusual happened, there's nothing notable about it at all, apart from being an author you like. As Brambleclawx has pointed out, it's not likely to pan out. Maybe there's another subject with more meat on it? Acroterion (talk) 23:17, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It was requested, so I thought I might as well do it. Brambleclawx deleted it, and informed me. This was the only task available, so I did it. Even if we aren't supposed to make random lists, it was requested, so I did it. I do not really care that this article was deleted, because I only did it because of a request.- Biker488

Well, it was good practice. Sometimes it's better to just decline that sort of request - lots of articles are requested that don't have much of a future. Happy editing, Acroterion (talk) 23:32, 18 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, you might of noticed I have been on Wikipedia for only a bit, so I don't know everything. Thanks for the tip, though! Biker488

S'allright, you won't learn if you don't try things out. Acroterion (talk) 02:03, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I made this article because of a request, not to try it out. Do you get that?!! Biker488

I did get that, in fact, and meant it as encouragement. Acroterion (talk) 23:07, 20 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever. Sorry I haven't been signing correctly. Biker488 (talk) 11:54, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Improving Warriors book articles[edit]

I think that although there shouldn't should be an article solely on tours Erin Hunter has been on, we could add it in the book articles. Take a look at Outcast. This is one of the few B-Class articles in the Warriors series. The list of tours with a source helps. I haven't looked at that link yet with the list of tours, but does it specify the dates? I think that using the Outcast article as a reference, we can make all Warrior book articles a B-Class. That includes Critical Reception, Publication History, list of tours if possible and maybe a Setting. I think the hard part will be finding reviews, I could not find any editorial reviews besides from Children's Literature when I tried yesterday for Sunrise Derild4921 14:40, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Yeah, reviews are quite hard to find. Brambleclawx 14:47, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The info on the link was recently changed saying that the tour schedule was posted on http://warrriorcats.com. I can't find it!!!! I think that we won't be able to get anything out of it. Biker488 (talk) 22:00, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look around on the site, it said it should be there right? If I find it, I'll post it on the WikiProject Warriors talk page. Derild4921 22:34, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I try looking too. Biker488 (talk) 12:00, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I found the link, I posted it here. Also, we can use the harpercollins page for reviews and release dates instead. The pages, such as thishas two reviews and each tab for a different edition of the book (hardcover, paperback, etc) all have release dates. This would be more reliable than amazon right? I'm not sure if there are reviews for all the books so if someone has time, can you please check? Derild4921 20:42, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That's great!! I saw the link. I don't have as much time, but I have lots more on weekends, so i'll help look then. Biker488 (talk) 12:24, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grab some glory, and a barnstar[edit]

Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. monosock 04:52, 12 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My favorite movie is also cloudy with a chance of movie, and diary of a wimpy kid is my favorite book. I was wondering how do you sign up for the community page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jornalist17 (talkcontribs) 20:11, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You like that movie too? I love it! Sorry I haven't answered. What community page? Could I have some more info? Also, could you tell me some of your other favorite movies and books? Maybe we have more in common! - Biker488 (talk) 21:08, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tracker Task Force[edit]

I haven't read this, but I just looked it up and it looks interesting. I'm gonna get it. I'm also going to join this now so maybe I can get more info on it! Thanks a bunch for suggesting it! Have you read Warriors by Erin Hunter - Biker488 (talk) 21:15, 27 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Thank you very much for signing up for the July Backlog Elimination Drive! The copyedit backlog stretches back two and a half years, all the way back to the beginning of 2008! We're really going to need all the help we can muster to get it down to a manageable number. We've ambitiously set a goal of clearing all of 2008 from the backlog this month. In order to do that, we're going to need more participants. Is there anyone that you can invite or ask to participate with you? If so, we're offering an award to the person who brings in the most referrals. Just notify ɳorɑfʈ Talk! or Diannaa TALK of who your referrals are. Once again, thanks for your support! --Diannaa TALK 20:43, 28 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Well now that the september one started, could I have some info on that? This is to Brambleclawx too. When is the next Warriors book coming out? (I know about Skyclan's Destiny already.) Biker488 (talk) 23:54, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE Newsletter[edit]

GOCE July 2010 backlog elimination drive chart

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive! We have now passed the halfway point, so here's an update.

Progress Report - Progress toward the targets has been good. 751 articles out of the approximately 1,600 we would like to get completed by the end of the month were done by July 15, so we will be very close to meeting the target for volume. However, we would like to clear all of the 2008 articles from the backlog, and there are still 892 left to do. Please consider choosing one of these older articles when looking for something to copy edit. If we focus our firepower we can completely wipe out 2008 from the queue.

Participation Report - 95 people signed up for the July drive. This is a great result compared to May, when we had 36. However, in May only one person that signed up didn't do any copy edits, and in July only 59 of the 95 have posted any copy edits on the big board.

The task may seem insurmountable but please remember that if all 95 participants copy edit just one article a day from now until the end of the month, we will eliminate 1,300 more articles from the backlog. So please consider participating at whatever level you can! All contributions are appreciated.

This newsletter was prepared for the GOCE by Diannaa (Talk), S Masters (talk), and The Raptor Let's talk.

Luke Castellan[edit]

Hi. On Luke Castellan, it says that he has a scar from fighting a dragon. Do you happen to know which book and what page in the percy Jackson series actually says this? Thanks, Brambleclawx 15:40, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE drive newsletter[edit]

The Guild of Copy Editors – May 2011 Backlog Elimination Drive

The Guild of Copy Editors invite you to participate in the May 2011 Backlog Elimination Drive, a month-long effort to reduce the backlog of articles that require copy-editing. The drive began on May 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on May 31 at 23:59 (UTC). The goals of this backlog elimination drive are to eliminate as many articles as possible from the 2009 backlog and to reduce the overall backlog by 15%. ! NEW ! In an effort to encourage the final elimination of all 2009 articles, we will be tracking them on the leaderboard for this drive.

Awards and barnstars
A range of barnstars will be awarded to active participants. Some are exclusive to GOCE drives. More information on awards can be found on the main drive page.

We look forward to meeting you on the drive! Your GOCE coordinators: SMasters, Diannaa, Tea with toast, Chaosdruid, and Torchiest

GOCE drive invitation[edit]

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors

The latest GOCE backlog elimination drive is under way! It began on 1 July and so far 18 people have signed up to help us reduce the number of articles in need of copyediting.

This drive will give a 50% bonus for articles edited from the GOCE requests page. Although we have cleared the backlog of 2009 articles there are still 3,935 articles needing copyediting and any help, no matter how small, would be appreciated.

We are appealing to all GOCE members, and any other editors who wish to participate, to come and help us reduce the number of articles needing copyediting, as well as the backlog of requests. If you have not signed up yet, why not take a look at the current signatories and help us by adding your name and copyediting a few articles. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words".
