Hi! I've undone a couple of edits you made to Portal:Ohio. Portals are mainly intended for readers, introducing a topic area within the encyclopedia. Have you seen the page Wikipedia:WikiProject Ohio? That's the co-ordination page for the Wikipedia editors working on Ohio-related articles, and its talk page would be a good place for requests like yours. -- John of Reading (talk) 10:13, 26 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Roger-dodger 67 this is coach zarlino thank you for your assistance I appreciate your expertise in this matter I have four or five more assistance below that I will be answering in the meantime I apologize for any grammatical or syntax errors I am using voice recognition to reply to your help.

I will work on the sandbox page and anything that you can do in the future to assist in establishing the American Amish Association on Wikipedia as a valid company without any assistance from the actual Amish people would be appreciated a few articles below this one of the gentlemen or ladies I'm not sure which yet indicated that if you're going to be compensated you need to make a disclosure which is extremely helpful because I am not doing this for free.

I do need to make some money not much on the retired Navy veteran I'm 56 years old in a few days I was born on July 16th 1960 so I do appreciate any assistance from any editors at any corner of the globe.

It's Kind of a catch-22 no matter how you look at it because Wikipedia is one of the largest fundraisers in the world if not the largest thanks to the internet Visionary work of Jimmy Wales and his co-founder see I think there was a co-founder not sure there's plenty of Articles written about it not my concern.

Information icon Hello COACH ZARLINO. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a black hat practice.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:COACH ZARLINO. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=COACH ZARLINO|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, please do not edit further until you answer this message. -- John of Reading (talk) 11:37, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Some suggestions

[edit]

Hello. I've proposed Category:Amish Social Settlements WikiProject for deletion as categories are not intended as places for discussion, they are merely an index to help organise articles. And just as general advice, setting up super-specialised WikiProjects tends not to work very well - you are much better off working with a more general WikiProject in order to get some kind of numbers - Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Ohio and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Christianity/Anabaptist work group would be obvious places to ask around. Even then - don't expect people to come running, most Wikipedians have their hands full with their own pet subjects but those projects may be able to give you some more general guidance. Cheers. User page – what is it?

[edit]

Could you, please, familiarize with Wikipedia:User pages? It explains the purpose of user pages. In a nutshell:

User pages are for communication and collaboration. While considerable leeway is allowed in personalizing and managing your user pages, they are community project pages, not a personal website, blog, or social networking medium. They should be used to better participate in the community, and not used to excess for unrelated purposes...

and promoting any companies, organizations or communities is certainly a purpose unrelated to expanding and maintaining Wikipedia. That's because Wikipedia is not a blog, web hosting service, social networking service, or memorial site and also it is not a soapbox or means of promotion. Of course users are welcome to present their skills and interests, but that should mainly serve for better co-operation with other editors in our work on making Wikipedia bigger and better. Advertising our non-wikipedia activities is discouraged. --CiaPan (talk) 18:09, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Signature is not a reference

[edit]

Please do not enclose your signatures in <ref>...</ref> tags. They prevent the tildes from working properly!

Just put the four tildes, possibly preceded with two dashes (--~~~~), as they are, with no superfluous decoration, especially with no tags you do not understand. --CiaPan (talk) 05:09, 19 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Licking:County

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Licking:County. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Licking County, Ohio. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Licking County, Ohio. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Wgolf (talk) 21:40, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Some cleanup on your user-page

[edit]

Hi, it's user CiaPan here.

I admit I know that we generally should not modify other users pages. However taking into account specific conditions I offer to make three changes to your user page.

The changes are:

  1. reducing a superfluous triple signature;
  2. removing a link to a no-longer existing image described as Twitter Profile Image, which has been deleted from Commons; and
  3. formatting the requested articles subsection.

I know my action can be considered impolite, that's why I am asking you for permission. I look forward to your reply either here or at my talk page.

[edit]

Hi, it's CiaPan again.

You have put kind of a request at your User page, which names a Route 40 and the Etna Township in Licking County. I'm not quite sure what you meant exactly, but I'd like to point out we have an article about U.S. Route 40 with quite a big #History section (although with no 'Ohio history' subsection). We also have two closely related articles Etna Township, Licking County, Ohio and Etna, Licking County, Ohio, but only the latter links to U.S. Route 40.

Possibly the contents you would like to see in Wikipedia can be added to some of the above mentioned articles?

Hello COACH ZARLINO,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Historic-Route-40-Etna-Township-Licking-County-Ohio-43018 for deletion because the article appears to be about something that you or someone you know personally invented, coined, or discovered, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important—that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.

I apologize for any grammatical or syntax errors in advance I am a 57 year old retired Navy man and I have a hearing and sight disability.
I was hired by an Amish fellow by the name of Andrew Miller because Amish people don't use the internet so I started this Wikipedia page because they have what I call a catch-22 they are very good in their trades but they keep to themselves and most of their religious beliefs do not allow them to be photographed or have computers and such they do sneak around and get it done in various ways but after some due diligence I figured out how it can be done without getting them in trouble. So I was looking for subject matter experts on how to familiarize Wikipedia on their plate without getting any of the individuals in any kind of confusion with their individual churches they have a very peculiar Arrangement on how they do things but it seems to work for them. Statistically speaking there the fastest growing population in the United States of America so that's what I originally started out to do but like anything else on Wikipedia this has so much big data on it. It's amazing it's so easy to get distracted and look at all of the outstanding editors that are on here. One day when I have more time and I can get on here more I would like to become a Wikipedia editor thank you for your kind words and offering assistance sorry for being lengthy but I don't have much time and I want to make sure that you understand exactly what I am looking for. I need information on Amish settlements around the United States they are called socialist settlements. When I try to edit the pages on here I got SmackDown because I didn't follow the rules properly. I'm not trying to offend anybody but I do know that a lot of people on here seem to overstep their bounds when it comes to editing but that's okay I'm not going to complain on the one asking for help God bless you Merry Christmas and happy New Year hopefully we can start a dialogue.[🇺🇸 COACH Z | #USNavy ⚓] 23:39, 24 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello I'm trying to reach the Wikipedia editor Saipan [🇺🇸 COACH Z | #USNavy ⚓] 22:40, 12 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi, Coach! It's CiaPan here. I'm afraid I have bad news for you.
First, Wikipedia is not for any promotions or campaigns. We can describe both military or political campaigns (and possibly social and other, too), BUT they must actually happen and be well documented (that is, sourced). Any future elections campaigns are unencycopedic. That's why I removed a mention about 2034 campaign you made above.
Second, you placed the title of the section in a pair of ref tags, which made the tagged title unreadable. Please note the ref tags are designed to include references to sources, that support encyclopedic contents of Wikipedia, and the title was actually not a reference for the article text. So I have removed the tags, as inappropriate at the place.
Third, you placed the above mentioned reference as an URL to the Wikipedia page, that is a link starting with http:, as was displayed by your device. However, I guess your device uses a simplified user interface, which is, I suppose, more suitable for a reading software you use. As a result the URL you posted pointed to a simplified version of the page, which was less useful for other Wikipedia editors, who may like to see a more sophisticated interface. If you want to post links to Wikipedia pages, please don't use URL-s. Use the page title enclosed in doubled square brackets instead. Then each user will be directed to a version of the Wikipedia page appropriate to their devices capabilities or configuration they prefer.
Fourth, you overuse header markers ('equals' sign), which makes indentation and inclusion of subsections of your talk page messed up. I partially fixed it.
Fifth, you posted two sections about the same. I have removed a redundant section.
Sixth, my nickname here is CiaPan, not Saipan, although I understand they may sound very similar, and the voice recognition software may not recognize which one you mean, when you speak. The problem here is my nickname is not an English word. Actually it's not a word at all, neither in English or in my language, but rather a composition of two syllables I chose to identify me.
Best regards. --CiaPan (talk) 12:23, 13 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear CiaPan, Thank you siah pen for your remarks and I want to apologize for any grammatical or syntax errors in advance I have to use voice recognition I am a disabled veteran and my sight & Hearing is not what it used to be I am 57 years old and I have to look for work everyday and using Wikipedia certainly helps me research notable companies around the world I have struggled with being a Wikipedia editor from the very beginning when I first used it to talk about the sync system for Ford Motor Company sync is a really helpful tool for people like me that have Sight & hearing problems especially when you're driving if you hashtag v2v you will see a lot of information concerning the technology in the future on what I am working on originally I started this page to help the oppressed and disenfranchised Amish people but everytime I try to talk about them or try to edit the things that I need to I get reverted it's extremely frustrating I do appreciate everything that you did above and I do understand what you mean by all of it a lot of my settings are set at the basic beta testing levels I did that manually I don't need to be an advanced Wikipedia editor what I need to be is somebody that understands how the internet works and why it works which I do and that's why this website is the 10th largest website in the world I just read today that Google. It the Italian version of Google is now the number seventh most used site in the world and after I did the research I found out it's because that the president of the United States current wife is connected to a lot of large corporations in Italy thanks again Saipan eventually my voice recognition software will start to spell your name correctly one day it would be easier if you just use your name I don't understand why people use pseudo names or Incognito names on the internet that makes absolutely no sense to me thank you for your assistance I know I could always count on you you were one of the very first Wikipedia editors that slammed me. 🇺🇸:EN🇮🇹:IT[[🏈:[🇺🇸 COACH Z | #USNavy ⚓] 22:59, 16 March 2018 (UTC)]]

[1] It seems you have a misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is and how it works. I don’t see you being bullied, in fact it seems other users have been extremely patient with you. The reason your user page was deleted is because it was advocacy for your plan to help the Amish. Wikipedia is not a webhost, or a blog, or any other sort of platform for planning your big ideas or expressing your thoughts. It is an encyclopedia, and anything that is not part of that encyclopdia is subject to being deleted at any time.

I understand you are using speech recognition software. It’s a shame but that type of technology as it currently exists does not mesh well with Wikipedia editing. You have created quite a number of pages that have had to be deleted, often at weird titles or in odd places that make little to no sense. I hate to say this but it seems that you are not able to effectively contribute here at this time. There are many alternative outlets that are happy to host material not suitable for Wikiepdia, you may want to try some of them instead. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:38, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for an apparent inability or unwillingness to learn and comply with Wikipedia’s basic rules, and to communicate in a coherent manner. I do not believe assistive software is the only issue here, you do not seem able to understand even the most basic principles that Wikipedia operates under, nor do you appear to understand anything other Wikipedians have tried to communicate to you. I therefore feel it is best, both for Wikiepdia and for you, that you no longer edit here.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Beeblebrox (talk) 21:54, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should read the guide to appealing blocks, then contact administrators by submitting a request to the Unblock Ticket Request System. If the block is a CheckUser or Oversight block, was made by the Arbitration Committee or to enforce an arbitration decision (arbitration enforcement), or is unsuitable for public discussion, you should appeal to the Arbitration Committee.
Please note that there could be appeals to the unblock ticket request system that have been declined leading to the post of this notice.

A tag has been placed on User:COACH ZARLINO/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
