Image set?

What set of images are File:The Angry Birds Movie 2 (2019 film).jpg, File:Puss in Boots (2011 animated feature film).jpg, File:The Empire Strikes Back (1980 film).jpg, File:The SpongeBob Movie - Sponge on the Run.png and 18 others a part of? — Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 11:27, 23 January 2022 (UTC)

That is for renaming a set of images per WP:FNC#6. For example, as is the case in: Special:Diff/970638113 and Special:Diff/1039774276. Chompy Ace 12:27, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
I know, but what's the set?Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 13:26, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
All (22) of them. Chompy Ace 13:27, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Why?Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 16:14, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
That is for specific files such as film posters like File:Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings poster.jpeg and File:Black Widow (2021 film) poster.jpg; WP:FNC#6 says, "Harmonize file names of a set of images (so that only one part of all names differs) to ease their usage in templates (e.g. diagram symbols, scans of pages of a book, maps)." Chompy Ace 21:25, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
That's not a set. c:Category:BSicon/road/RM is a set. c:Category:Millie Bobby Brown in 2020 is a set, c:Category:Night of the Koemarkt 2018 is a set. Fair use images very rarely are. Some of your requests I could fulfill for other reasons, but not for being a set.Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 01:08, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
Okay. Understood. Chompy Ace 01:15, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
Good to hear. We (kind of unfortunately) don't have any real naming guidelines or standards, so anything sufficiently descriptive, unambiguous and not-confusing tends to be acceptable. Ambiguity can be an issue though when a movie has a tie-in video game or when it's based on a book with the same title. Or in case of Shrek, when you have a movie, video game, character and franchise all with the same name, so in such cases you can often make a rename request.Alexis Jazz (talk or ping me) 10:27, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for your message! Chompy Ace 10:30, 24 January 2022 (UTC)

Frozen II “story by” credits

Any particular reason why “story by: Jennifer Lee, Chris Buck, Marc Smith, Kristen Anderson-Lopez, Robert Lopez” has been removed from the Frozen II article? Brian K. Tyler (talk) 19:49, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Perhaps this source should be reliable enough to support the claim. [1] Brian K. Tyler (talk) 22:13, 27 January 2022 (UTC)

Notes and references

Just dropping a note (ha ha), your current edits re-arranging notes and references aren't being clear in the edit summaries what it is you're doing. Additionally they actually seem to contradict MOS:NOTES (though I will admit to being not completely certain as it's ambiguous.) The MOS suggests that notes and references can exist in the same section, and it's okay for it to be called notes or references. Canterbury Tail talk 15:00, 22 February 2022 (UTC)

Clarification: Special:Diff/1073373023 and Special:Diff/1073179369 for Special:Diff/1066140289 as evidence, "Notes are a separate entity from references and thus don't belong under the same heading as them"; No Time to Die#Notes; Talk:The Empire Strikes Back/GA1#References; and MCU films, especially Black Panther (film)#Notes and Spider-Man: No Way Home#Notes. Sources on Elizabeth Olsen

Hi there! While these new sources could be helpful to readers who would like to learn the winners of these awards, there's no requirement to cite them since they don't verify any material in the article. I'm also pretty sure Collider is a secondary source. The ref you removed has always sufficed, especially since the article author wrote an analysis of the nominations in addition to the standard press release. Thanks! Ok. I was trying to have verdicts to awards. Chompy Ace 22:04, 27 March 2022 (UTC)

Your recent edits and summaries are questionable, it didn't answered why you removed the agent part of infobox, and I don't see any guidelines about that in the MOS:INFOBOX that agent is unnecessary. —Princess Faye (my talk) 10:20, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Per Special:Diff/1082901225: "Fixed infobox clutter; we don't need to include agent(s) MOS:INFOBOX; she only released one LP so removing music section; linked to Bea Alonzo filmography". This is the case in Regine Velasquez, Judy Ann Santos, and Bea Alonzo. Chompy Ace 10:22, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Yes I have alread read that, and I went to MOS:INFOBOX and searching for the guidelines stating agent is not necessary, but I can't find any guidelines for that. So what is the reason for the removal? —Princess Faye (my talk) 10:25, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
You are just linking to an editors diff edits, and copying their edits. —Princess Faye (my talk) 10:28, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Pseud 14 made such edits for fixing "infobox clutter". MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE "summarizes key features of the page's subject", excluding "unnecessary content" as for New York City, U.S. (which omits the state of New York and redundant), not New York City, New York, U.S. Agents like Star Magic and Sparkle are trivial uses. See Regine Velasquez, a featured article, for a such strategy. Chompy Ace 10:31, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
It's not trivial, they wouldn't include agents section in Infobox if it is a trivial. —Princess Faye (my talk) 10:41, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Im so sorry. It was a mistake. Chompy Ace 10:42, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Just leave it there. —Princess Faye (my talk) 10:43, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Should I make WP:BOLD edit(s) on fixing infobox clutter (especially the removal of such agents)? Chompy Ace 10:45, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Just leave agents. —Princess Faye (my talk) 10:49, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Leave them or not? Chompy Ace 10:54, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
If you have a link or guidelines that can be shown to me stating that the Agent section is unnecessary, remove it, if you have nothing to show, just leave it.—Princess Faye (my talk) 11:00, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
Regine Velasquez, Judy Ann Santos, and Bea Alonzo are the examples of articles have the agents parameter omitted. Chompy Ace 11:13, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

Those are just articles, you can't show me any guidelines stating that the Agent section is unnecessary, if I were you, restore the Agents sections you removed. —Princess Faye (my talk) 11:19, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

I will gain consensus for that next time. Chompy Ace 11:25, 17 April 2022 (UTC)
@Chompy Ace: there is no need to gain consesus, as I have pointed out to Princess Faye that basic infobox template includes a list of parameters to cover a wide range of people/subject. Only use those parameters that convey essential or notable information about the subject, hence certain parameters are optional when it does not apply to the subject. As for the subject's agent (individual and/or agency), it is discouraged in most cases, specifically when promotional (See: Template:Infobox person). The article certainly wouldn't benefit from its inclusion and only gives undue weight to it (WP:UNDUE).
@Princess Faye: I would also advise you to please be WP:CIVIL when conducting yourself and engaging with editors in Wikipedia. Do not ignore the positions and conclusions of your fellow editors. Responses such as "if I were you" or "if you have nothing to show, just leave it" are unnecessarily harsh and hostile, and quite frankly, is not a substantive argument or rationale. Please be professional, avoid being condescending and appearing to ridicule another editor's comment. Pseud 14 (talk) 14:42, 17 April 2022 (UTC)

CNET

Hey, in regards to this edit, I don't think it needs to be reverted but I do want to point out that any previous CNET article has not become less trusted because they are now putting out different content. In fact, it is likely still just as reliable now as it used to be as long as we are using the same sorts of articles from them and avoiding the new sorts of articles that people are concerned about. - adamstom97 (talk) 04:19, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

WP:RSN#Time to revisit CNET says: "Many of the articles on the new CNET seem to be mass-produced "5 ways to do X" articles. Articles of this nature may be produced by freelancers or a team that isn't composed of professional journalists. [We] would agree that reliability should be judged on a case-by-case basis based on the subject matter. In particular, articles on more serious issues, especially those that relate to BLP (e.g. scandals affecting tech companies, controversies relating to particular people in tech) should be scrutinized." The Verge is reliable as a replacement of CNET, saying at WP:RSN#Time to revisit CNET, "on par with Insider (RSP entry) and Vice (RSP entry)". This means WP:MREL. Chompy Ace 05:29, 2 May 2022 (UTC)

Thanks!

I see that you were instrumental in bringing the The Sound of Music (film) to GA status. I saw the film as an impressionable six/seven year old, during its first release in 1965/1966. Even now, when I watch the film, I remember how fascinated I was as a child. "Going to the movies" with both of my parents, was an unusual event, and thus an "occasion". We had the soundtrack album, and my mother and I would listen and sing along...eventually, we knew all the lyrics by heart.

Thanks so much for your editorial work, on an article that deserves to be a GA. Very much appreciated! Best wishes to you, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 20:43, 17 May 2022 (UTC)

Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. (Purge)

Hi Chompy Ace,

I've recently been looking for editors to invite to join the new page reviewing team, and after reviewing your editing history, I think you would be a good candidate. Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; the new page reviewing team needs help from experienced users like yourself.

Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, most pages are easy to review, and habits are quick to develop). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us. If you choose to apply, you can drop an application over at WP:PERM/NPR. If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message on my talk page or at the reviewer's discussion board.

Cheers, and hope to see you around, (t · c) buidhe 20:30, 27 May 2022 (UTC)

MOS:TIES and developers

In regards to this edit, the tag is fine in this case since the article is already American English, but I wanted to note that in general we do not view the nationality of the developer as a strong national tie, especially with most major developers being international or games being released for international markets. We look more for thematic ties. -- ferret (talk) 13:42, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Billboard

Hey, thought Billboard was a reliable source, its article says "Billboard is considered one of the most reputable sources of music industry news", you replaced it in various articles such as [1], both sources seem valid so seems better to just replace if nominees' article or unreliable source. Thanks, Indagate (talk) 12:40, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

I implemented the The Hollywood Reporter citation at my sandbox earlier before you did so. Chompy Ace 20:51, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
Billboard isn't listed but still seems reliable, that's just a list of discussed sources, not necessarily a comprehensive list of reliable sources. Didn't see your edit in your sandbox but don't see how it's relevant. There's no need to bother switching a reliable source for another reliable source, plenty of articles need an updated source for that award. Thanks, Indagate (talk) 21:17, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
