Fungi[edit]

If you have questions to ask, there's a few of us active at WikiProject Fungi, (I'd not heard the name pavement mushroom before) :) Casliber (talk · contribs) 20:24, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, add me to Casliber's welcome above. It's great all the work you're doing with the common name redirects, and it helps to standardize the growing number of mushroom species articles. Hope to see you around at the WikiProject. Sasata (talk) 00:21, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scientific names[edit]

Hi, articles go by the common name; not the scientific name. That information, of course, is always in the article. Thanks A8UDI talk 20:17, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect, articles (at least fungal articles) go by the scientific name, with a common name redirect. Sasata (talk) 20:56, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
However, name changes can't be swapped, or else the history isn't preserved. You'll need to ask an admin to help you move pages over redirects. Sasata (talk) 20:59, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, I did exactly the same thing with a bunch of bird articles when I started here a few years ago :/ Casliber (talk · contribs) 21:56, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reducing CC3.0 images[edit]

Apologies for that - I misread the base (c) notification on the overall information page - and the (c) notification on the top of each image page led to a bit more confusion. They've all been reversed as far as I can tell. Skier Dude (talk) 03:51, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File:Psilocybe graveolens.jpg listed for discussion[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Psilocybe graveolens.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for discussion. Please see the discussion to see why it has been listed (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry). Feel free to add your opinion on the matter below the nomination. Thank you. B (talk) 14:46, 18 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Leucopaxillus albissimus2.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
