Could you please review article for me? Aliceako (talk) 21:10, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Commons image[edit]

Hello, Here is something you left me a couple years ago:

"Thank you for adding a photo of Lorrie Menconi! So many of the Playmate articles need photos, so it's good to see them added. I would like to point out that you can upload images to Wikimedia Commons for use on all Wikipedias and not just the English version. Thanks again, Dismas|(talk) 04:55, 6 January 2009 (UTC)"

Since then that and a number of my pictures have been deleted despite clearly identifying them as my copyright and following whatever procedure I found to make the "common".

I have been having issues with my content being deleted and I am being asked to edit a page for the page owner as she can't, and don't want to have yet another issue with deletion.

I haven't figured out how to "bullet proof" my entries such that someone else doesn't come along and delete them for some nefarious reason.

Help please!

Declined BLPPROD: Jynx maze[edit]

I had to decline the BLPPROD here. While there is an on-going RfC on this point, consensus is and appears to be that even source of dubious reliability, such as IMDB, is "enough" to prevent placing a BLPPROD tag, this is explained in more detail at WP:BLPPROD#Nominating. The article may still be, after an appropriate search for sources, eligible for PROD and/or AfD. Sorry for the inconvenience. --joe deckertalk to me 15:05, 25 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Illustrations of Pennsylvania municipalities[edit]

Do I remember rightly that you're working on a project to get at least one photo for each Pennsylvania municipality? And if so, do you have a checklist online that I could see? I ask because I'm in Pennsylvania until Monday (Homecoming weekend!) and I might try to get some illustrations for you if I know what you need. Nyttend (talk) 01:45, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I asked the same thing of Ruhrfisch, and his response has made me realise that I confused you with Dincher, now Gerry D — sorry for that. Nyttend (talk) 13:01, 1 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Hannah Cornett has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The only source for the acting claims is the IMDB entry, which may not be reliable. If it is correct, the roles do not support a claim of notability under WP:ENT. The only other reference remaining is the Deadspin article which indicates Cornett's history is fabricated (i.e., she is not notable by WP:BLP1E).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mass Effect 3[edit]

Hey. I think you're an administrator or... special editor? I may be wrong but uhh... regardless:

The Mass Effect 3 wiki page is semi-protected to help vandalism efforts, which is fine. The rating on it is BBFC 15 right now. It's since been given a PEGI rating (18) and I wanted to update the page with that, but since I can't, think you could do that for me?

For proof of this rating, you can check the game's page on GAME.co.uk or any similar sites, or also go to the Mass Effect official website and watch some of the videos on there. They all start with the PEGI 18 warning. Lord-Schmee (talk) 16:33, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bailey-Jay[edit]

Okay, so you removed what I wrote about Bailey Jay having a penis. I'm not going to second guess your motives. I think it should go in, because Bailey Jay does porn. What is your rationale for taking that out? You can list a bunch of "WP:" cites. I've probably read them. Podex Mandrake (talk) 02:09, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm not interested in making a point. The status of someone's genitalia usually isn't important, but in porn it is. There are people (not me) who like what they call "traps," people who look like women in every respect but have a penis. I don't know if "pre-op" is satisfactory, because it sounds like Bailey Jay needs an operation. See what I'm getting at? I understand you can't say "trap," "dickgirl," or "chicks with dicks," but I don't see the point in dancing around with language and failing to explain this performer's particular appeal. Your deletion of the comment regarding http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Phil_and_Marlene.jpg may have been hasty[edit]

Hello. I happened to note the request for help regarding the comment on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Phil_and_Marlene.jpg and your deletion of same. In my view when someone asks for help they are asking to be taught as well. This requires the administrator to put some thought into what they are doing and it does not seem to me that you did here. Within the context of the picture standing alone, the comment was if anything a non-sequitor, since the editor addressed an issue which, to anyone but the most astute viewer, was unrelated. A proper determination to delete something from a TALK page required that the administrator review the uses to which the photo had been put. Had this been done it would have been noted that in the article pertaining to The Church of Latter Day Saints, the caption indicated that the photo had been taken with a Manti, Utah Moromon Temple in the background.

The real error made here was that the individual who originally complained about racism[sic] needed to at least be informed that his comment was made in the wrong place, that it should have been placed on the Talk page for the LDS page not the Talk page for the photo itself. Had it been there, it might still be considered an as-a-forum comment - after all you are the expert - but at least it would have been judged within the context of where it appeared. QuintBy (talk) 01:47, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You're not an administrator? Then I REALLY don't understand why, when someone asked for help, you jumped in yourself and deleted a comments on the Talk page for a photo called "Phil and Marlene", giving no explanation, while having no idea why the comment was there in the first place. QuintBy (talk) 05:21, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Whatever, Dismas. Whatever. QuintBy (talk) 19:10, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

To that I would add that that I continue to be mystified by your seeming lack of understanding of my critical comments regarding your unjustified undo of prior comments left on the Talk section about a seemingly generic bride and a groom photo of the two standing together. It

Seamus (dog)[edit]

I noticed that your contributed to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Seamus (dog). Please note that there is a new AfD for the same article. Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Seamus (dog) (2nd nomination) HHIAdm (talk) 18:44, 27 April 2012 (UTC) seems doubtful to me that anyone would ever be searching for Phil_and__Marlene.jpg.[reply]

I will also point out to you what I have recently to several other long-timers on Wikipedia. Taking advantage of a higher familiarity with Wikipedia terminology in order to get the drop on a less experience editor is inappropriate and I think inconsistent with the underlying precepts of Wikipedia. Yet you did just that when you challenged my use of the term administator, a term which I was obviously using only loosely to characterize your higher-ranking status within Wikipedia's ornately elaborate chain of command. True, you are not an administrator but you are a recent-change auto-patroller and as such have been entrusted by Wikipedia to proceed with due diligence in that role. I still don't belief that an effort has been made by you, even after I took you to task, to understand the circumstances which lead to comments that appeared in reference to the photo suggesting it was an example of "racism", etc. Yet you have allowed your undo to remain intact. I don't think that lives up to characteristics which qualify patrollers to assume that role within the Wikipedia hierarchy. QuintBy (talk) 21:36, 18 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is my last comment on this matter, which relieves me and I'm sure relieves you. It's actually a question. What exactly is there about a comment concerning the Mormon faith which, even if flatly anti-Mormon (the comment you deleted was in fact pro-Mormon) that could possibly constitute the racism[sic] which you make reference to? QuintBy (talk) 17:48, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You (But Still More Advice Requested)[edit]

Thank you for your guidance. (I am Zay N. Smith or nortythebartender and you offered me help with the submission under the name "Susy Schultz.") Our earlier corespondence is at the end of this message. My problem now is that I have managed to upload a photo of Susy Schultz (Susy Schultz.jpg at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Susy_Schultz.jpg) but am confounded at how to place it on the page. (The photo was taken by a member of her family and sent to me by her at my request for entry; it is a photo widely available on the Internet as the standard photo sent out in publicity and other requests attendant to her work.) I like to think I am fairly intelligent, but, despite some efforts, I remain a dolt when it comes to computer work. All I am seeking to do is put it on the page of her entry. But I have failed so far. Any help you can give me in accomplishing this would be deeply appreciated. Zay

Here is our earlier correspondence: My name is Zay N. Smith and I worked most recently as a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times. Thank You Again[edit]

Thank you again for all your help (especially with the pic). I have done some further minor tweaking so far. You mention a "citation needed" for the Pulitzer nomination. I am having trouble finding a linkable print reference. I can offer only myself as a first-person reference, being a columnist at the Sun-Times when the series "State of the City" on Mayor Harold Washington was nominated by the paper for a Pulitzer (which it did not win) and being aware closely of editorial deliberations and nominations. Other citations are hard to come by because of their age (the Sun-Times Internet site, sadly, does not keep articles for long). Other links, such as those from High Beam and other such services, do not survive for long, in my experience. I will keep working on it (and in the meantime can attest that as a reporter and columnist, there is nothing in the entry that I would hesitate to put into print in any of the newspapers, magazines, or publishing houses I've written for). Again, thank you for your help, and I will see what I can do to improve the entry further (I think I will prepare a brief Wikipedia submission about Images & Voices of Hope, the global think tank of which Ms. Schultz is now executive director, which should be helpful to the reader and researcher. Ital Changes[edit]

Sorry. I am new to this and made a few mechanical errors in trying to make things blue and ital.

I think I have now made the necessary changes in this matter but am stuck on The Daily Journal. That is the precise and full name of the Kankakee, Ill., paper referred to but the only Wikipedia listing is for the The Daily Journal in Venezuela. Right now The Daily Journal is in ital and black. I think it is supposed to be in ital and red. But I can't figure out yet how to do this.

I assure you that the think tank referred to is of importance (I can't remember if I mentioned this in previous communication). It is independent and features seminars and summits with some of the top journalists around (such as the editor of Harvard's Neiman Reports and the world editor of the Miami Herald). I am preparing a separate submission on this organization to help the reader and researcher.

Again thank you for your help.

Names removed[edit]

As per [1], I have removed the names you mentioned for two reasons. Firstly unless I missed it, the source you provided doesn't seem to support your claim of an admission of guilt. Secondly, for WP:BLP reasons it's best to keep highly identifying info like names out when discussing living people, particularly non notable ones, even if what you're discussing is supported by sources. Obviously if the identity or information matters to the question then this isn't an option, but I don't see that it matters what the names of the accused murderers are to your question. Nil Einne (talk) 01:47, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm doing a bit of reserach on here and you seem to edit playmate information. Should this model's information be expanded on the page that mentions her and why is her name constantly being removed by a user named user:fasttimes68? 74.101.6.200 (talk) 17:17, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You said "...be expanded on the page that mentions her..." but you didn't say which page you're referring to. Her article is fine as is, unless there is more notable and sourced information that you know of that can be added to it. What I think you're referring to though is the addition of her name to the list of notable Playmates to the Playboy Playmate article. I'm fine with her being listed there and a description simply reading "author and gay rights advocate" or something similar to that. As for why Fasttimes keeps removing it... Well, you'd have to ask them. So far, their edit summaries have just said that they don't think that she's notable. Dismas|(talk) 17:57, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank for your reply. If you look at the edit history of fasttimes68, he keeps blanking her name off of pages such as:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephanie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/July_24 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairleigh_Dickinson_University http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilhelmina_Models http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playboy_Playmate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_gay,_lesbian_or_bisexual_people:_A http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_women_writers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_astrologers

I'm trying to find out what is going on and asking for editing help because soon after I restored her name on most of those links, someone named calabe1992 removed it again and accused me of softpuppeting. Can you add it back, since you are an expert on here? She is a legitimate playmate, model and author. I'm wondering why her name is being removed all over this site. Also, can her biography be elaborated upon? There is so much online written about her. What about a sentence or two? Please advise. 74.101.6.200 (talk) 18:12, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You're clearly operating many accounts. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Hershebar. Calabe1992 18:14, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Calabe, that is certainly not me because I just created this new one right now with my own personal e-mail. So why are you removing verified information that was on there for years? I'm actually trying to correspond with Dismas here. Hellotoyoumyfriend (talk) 18:24, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, sure. Calabe1992 18:29, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Lists such as those you point out are not always meant to be exhaustive. For instance, the July 24 article. And I was unaware of the recent resurgence of the Stephanie supporters. Every couple years this crops up. Someone gets the idea into their head to make more of Ms. Adams than she really deserves and they try to make changes to her article that make her out to be whatever she wants to be at that time. Hi Dismas. Thanks for keeping an eye on things. I'm guessing you're an RCPer. To answer your question, I'm formatting the refs that way to make it easier to fill them out while i'm working on the article. I'm still working on the article as we speak. I didn't ad an {{inuse}} because the article didn't seem to have many editors. Would you like me to add one? Also, we edit conflicted. Do you mind if I revert you as I'm still working on the article? Thanks. 64.40.54.230 (talk) 02:45, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If there'd have been an inuse template on the article, I wouldn't have touched it and let you continue what you were doing. I didn't know what you were doing, so that's why I stepped in. So, yeah, it might be best if you use the template. Go ahead and revert if it would help you work out the formatting. Thanks for your efforts!! Dismas|(talk) 03:00, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 17[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Miro Weinberger, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chittenden County (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Dani Woodward[edit]

Sorry, I'm still trying to figure this wiki editing out. I'm not even sure if this is the right place for me to respond. (I couldn't figure out how to reply the talk place)...To answer your question, I changed the pic of Dani Woodward because I am Dani Woodward, and I can't stand that ugly pic that was taken of of me years ago. I'm making a weird face, it's awful pic. I tried to replace it with a pic of me winning an AVN award but you removed it, I assume for possible copy write issues? So then I tried replacing it with a candid shot of myself, just as a place holder until I could figure out how to upload a profession pic, but you keep talking that down as well. Please advise? Thanx! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sunny Santa Fe 64 (talkcontribs) 02:29, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
