I think what you need to do is, rather than scan random articles for things that you think need to be linked; or scanning articles for things that you think need to be *un*linked, you should take a vacation from editing and read some of the links in the introductory message I posted a few days ago. I looked at your edit to Rope, thanks for talking to me about it, but I reverted it because the article is about ropes made from fibers, not from metal ("metal ropes" are "cables") and suspension bridges are made from cables, not fiber ropes. Hi, I'm jeh (talk · contribs). I noticed that you added a great many internal links ("Wikilinks") to this article. I have reverted your edit because I feel most of those WLs were unnecessary. Not every word or term that has a WP article should be Wikilinked from every article in which it appears. We do have some existing guidelines on this; please see WP:OVERLINK. I feel most of your links fell afoul of the first item there: "everyday words understood by most readers in context" should not be linked. As it says on that page, too many links make it difficult for the reader to identify links that are likely to significantly aid in understanding. Supercar category

Before you spend a lot of time adding the Category: Super cars to articles, please note that I have tagged the category for speedy deletion. The classification of "supercar" is not used on Wikipedia per WP:AUCL. Thanks, Bahooka (talk) 17:02, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

That does not make sense since a supercar is a class of a car, what you are trying to say is something similar to a category like cars with doors that can lift, that is a class, but according to what you are saying it is not a class, also if there is no such thing as a super car classification, then the wikipedia age called supercar should also be marked for speedy deletion. Also, if you look on the info boxes of all the super cars it says, type/classification , supper car. Are you saying those too should be removed. All I am saying is what you are baseing the action you took on the category page, is base on a statement that has no citations or sources stating that a super car is not a classification. If you disagree with Wikipedia's guidelines at WP:AUCL, you should discuss it at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions and Category talk:Super cars to try to get the guidelines changed. However, currently "supercar" is too vague a classification on Wikipedia. Also, if an article infobox states supercar, then yes, it should be changed (and generally is) until WP:AUCL is changed. I've deleted this page. It does not belong in mainspace because it is not an article. It looks like you are trying to create a a barnstar. Pages like this belong in project space (Wikipedia:Name) or in template space. I recommend you post at WP:Wikiproject Automobiles or WP:BARNSTAR and get guidance from other members. Most of the tags that you are adding are not necessary. Tags are never required. Sometimes they are useful, to let people know that there are issues with an article that they may not have otherwise noticed. The tags you are adding are either wrong (you don't put a "lead needs improvement" tag on a stub article that doesn't have a lead) or obvious (a one-sentence section should be expanded, if possible). I second the recommendation that you find yourself at mentor at the WP:TEAHOUSE, and that you ask at WP:HELPDESK to fix your signing issue, because that is becoming highly annoying. Let the people at the teahouse know what type of editing you are interested in, and then they can help you get involved more appropriately. Please do not respond on my talk page, I am watching yours. Referencing the first sentence

I appreciate that you are trying to improve the encyclopedia. However, you need to understand that you are coming into a project that has been ongoing for many, many years and has established a very large set of established practices. Requiring that the first sentence of the lede be referenced to a dictionary entry is not among them. Remember, per WP:V, references are only required for material that has been challenged or is likely to be challenged. The opening sentence is hardly likely to be challenged, as the entire rest of the article will back it up, with refs (if it doesn't, the article has far more serious problems than lack of a ref for the first sentence). Particularly for articles like Door, Orchestra, etc.

I would also point out that while WP:V and WP:RS are policy, some of the other things you seem to have decided are "rules", like the minimum length of a section, are not. They are guidelines or even essays. Heck, even some policies can be overridden where there is good justification.

In general, if you have an idea about how WP articles should be written, formatted, etc., but you find that a large number of articles don't seem to follow your idea.. the problem is probably not with the articles, but rather with your understanding of WP policies, guidelines, and conventions. Just going in and editing every such article you encounter to match your idea is considered disruptive. It looks like you just found a rule and now are eagerly looking for articles that break it, so you can "contribute" by tagging it for improvement. Of course, such action is sometimes justified. But in almost all cases it would be better to put your suggestion in the form of a question on the article talk page, where more experienced editors can answer, before the article itself is changed.

For example, your question on the talk page at template:Orchestra was perfect. And thank you also there for signing your edit comment. (n.b.: The edit summary for a new talk page doesn't have to say "created talk page",that will be evident from the N in the edit history. In that particular case, "question re linking section labels" would have been a terrific edit summary.) (also n.b.: The answer to your question there might well be different for different templates.)

Sorry if I seem to be picking on you, but you've done minor damage to many articles that are on my watchlist, so naturally I look at your edit history to see what else you've done; many editors do that after they notice problem edits. (If I were doing it for the primary purpose of making your experience on WP unpleasant, that would fall afoul of WP:HOUNDING, but I'm not.) Thank you for your understanding. (I hope you understand!) Multiple posting

There is a guideline (WP:MULTI) but common sense should be sufficient to understand that posting essentially the same message at multiple locations is not desirable. Everyone has problems, and it would be nice if others would fix those problems, and nicer if they would do it right now. Hey =)

I wanted to just say thank you for joining the anime and manga wikiproject. I have noticed other editors here are just giving you constructive criticism. I believe in WP:BITE, and want to say that I hope you aren't taking what they say personally. Anyways, I love anime and manga here and there are a whole lot of fan websites I would love to include in the articles. The problem is that when you really love a series your view may be different than another person's view on the same thing (WP:NPOV). So when it comes to fan sites if we link them in the article we here are accepting that the person who wrote the website is right.

Another thing to consider is notability, what is notability? Notability here on Wikipedia is a key thing, as sad as it is some people's opinions online ARE more important than others. For example, editors here are more likely to go with a source posted by someone who works in the anime industry rather than a blogger. Tips

Please stop putting photographs into articles. You clearly have no idea what you're doing, how to do it, where they should go, and how they should be captioned.

• Not every photograph you take is worthwhile uploading to Commons. Some of them seem random and have no real subject. Take a look at the photos you take and be selective about which ones you upload.

• Not every image you upload needs to go into an article. You should never be asking the question "Which article should I put this in?" If the image doesn't cry out to be in an article, don't force it into one.

• Not every article needs more images. Look at the images already in the article. If yours isn't in some way better than the ones that are there, or doesn't cover a part of the article's subject that isn't already covered, don't put your image in the article.

• The name of a photograph is not what the caption of a photograph should be. The caption should describe what's in the photo, in relation to the subject of the article. An image with a non-descriptive caption can be worthless.

• Do not alter photographs in a way that actively misrepresents what's in them, like turning an "F" train into an "L" train for no reason that I can see. Photographs are taken by people, so they can't help but have a viewpoint, and we are allowed to adjust them in ways that makes it easier for the reader to see what we're trying to present, but photographs should should never lie, and an "L" train that was never an "L" train is a lie. Do not be deceptive with your images.

One other thing, not about images: don't correct misspelling if you don't actually know how to spell the word in question, and don't change words unless you are absolutely certain that the change you are going to make improves the writing. Topic ban on AN and ANI threads that do not directly concern you

Regarding your request on my talk page: I don't know enough about you to close that ANI thread, and I'm not going to wade through it. I suspect if I did, I might block you from editing, but that's an initial impression.

But I have seen enough to tell you not to comment on WP:ANI and WP:AN threads that do not already directly concern you, or I will block you from editing. You're giving too much incorrect information/advice, and complicating threads that don't affect you. You need to focus on the fact that a lot of people are saying your edits are a problem, and not focus on other people's problems. This is not closing the ANI thread about you; some other admin will come along and determine whether other actions need to be taken.

Also, you should stop editing Wikipedia from your phone; according to you, it's causing problems, and according to everyone else, they're having to clean it up. --Floquenbeam (talk) 17:07, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

That mess up was caused by accident. The discussion that I added was since the problem was not resovlved yet. So I wanted to place it back in the notice board. @Nick:The only reason why I am doing this and want to get blocked as soon as possible is so that an admin can put the issue on ANI today, and gets the issue resolved today. Beyond My Ken comes on 5pm-7 pm according to time at New York City, and those timings are before the block ends. If this block was set in place at 4am, I would not mind waiting.

Two things:

• 1. I'm suspicious as to why you feel so passionate about becoming an administrator. It's certainly not something to "dream" about. Being an administrator takes balls as it can put you in a position where you make unpopular decisions, piss people off, and leave the whole "creating content concept" of Wikipedia at the door whilst you run around wiping people's arse's and clearing up petty squabbles. I would consider it to be more of a chore than a cheer and a position that certainly doesn't win you any friends.
• 2. How can you blame BMK for "making you" post at ANI when you have been specifically warned not to. What did BMK do, hold a revolver to your head or something? Cassianto^Talk 17:53, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
  • @Cassianto:He told me im only banned ANI on talking about things not involving me, and that I am not banned from talking about things related to me. The dodo bird incident was related to @Epicgenius:, me, and other users, since that user vandalized our talkpages and user pages using sock puppetry. Look in previous topic or topic above that, where I pinged lots of admins under a sentence where @BMK: said that. So I thought since it relates to me no one would mind.     • As far as I can see BMK did not "get you banned". You are responsible for your own actions being an adult (I assume?), so if you weren't sure you should've asked first. You could have then used the diff as proof that you were acting innocently and as a result of wrongly given advice. Finally, take my advice, stop pinging people as it gets quite irritating. Comment about topic ban

• (edit conflict with PhilKnight's decline) This is a bit of a mess. Yes, you are correct that the topic ban from AN/ANI was for threads that don't directly concern you. So Black Kite and the two unblock declines may have misread that. But (and I mean this in the nicest possible way) you've been a bit of a bull in a china shop lately, causing quite a bit of headache and hassle for other people. Blanking the entire ANI page for example. I know you didn't mean to, but you did it. Reopening a thread that was pretty much as resolved as it's going to get, as another example. Pinging everybody on the planet, as a third example.

In general, you need to:

• Slow down
• Focus more on article building and less on AN/ANI and sockpuppets.
• Stop pinging so many people so often

It looks to me like your block - a short, attention-getting one - was for disruption in general, and Black Kite's mis-reading of my ban from ANI only a secondary reason. 1. I am not now, nor have I ever been an admin.
2. The topic ban that was placed on you by Floquenbeam is on this page at #Topic ban on AN and ANI threads that do not directly concern you
3. It says:

   ...I have seen enough to tell you not to comment on WP:ANI and WP:AN threads that do not already directly concern you, or I will block you from editing. You're giving too much incorrect information/advice, and complicating threads that don't affect you.

4. If you believed that you were incorrectly blocked under the terms of that topic ban, you should have politely pointed the blocking admin, and the reviewing admins, to the specific terms of the ban
5. Which is not to say that if you were disrupting AN/I -- I have not looked at your edits there -- you could still be blocked (not "banned") just for the disruption, even if it took place in a thread that concerned you (I see that this is how Floquenbeam interpreted Black Kite's block as well here.)
6. What you should not do is run around like a chicken with its head cut off pinging every editor you've ever had contact with
7. As several people have said above, a 12 hour block is a very minor sanction, simply go do something else for half a day and don't even open Wikipedia
8. As for your becoming an admin, I'm sorry to say that if that was ever going to happen, it would be far, far in the future for you.
9. What will stop you from becoming an admin at that time is not a 12-hour block when you were wet behind the ears, but not having a solid record of productive contributions to the encyclopedia. As Epicgenius and others have been trying to tell you, that is where your focus should be when your block is up, as it will be quite soon.
10. We all take seriously our roles here, and we all try, to the best of our abilities, to follow the rules and policies of Wikipedia. Because we are human, we all fail at one time or another, but Wikipedia is a forgiving place (maybe too forgiving at times), and this minor block will not be held against you. What will be held against you is if you don't settle down, learn the ropes, and became a productive editor.
11. No one here can see inside your head, so we can only judge you by your outward behavior. There comes a point where being a clueless newbnie -- which, let's be frank, is what you are right now -- is indistinguishable from being a troll. You are perilously close to that point. You are starting to look less and less like someone who needs the kind of advice you're receiving on this page, and the kind of person who disrupts the peace for the sake of the "fun" of the chaos that ensues.
12. Only you can change that, and you do it by learning as quickly as you can how to edit productively. Less commenting, less bells and whistles on your user page, more improving of the encyclopedia.

I would add that in the topic ban text, the word "already" is of paramount importance. This seems to me to preclude DK's creating any threads, even threads concerning himself, as well as his commenting in any existing threads, unless they already concern him. Of course, that is not sufficient for Doorkno747 to refuse to take responsibility for his own actions and to try to lay the blame on someone else, especially since the actual words of the topic ban were on the page directly above. You can certainly use my ideas, and my words if you think it appropriate, however I fear that citing me as an example of how to stay calm would be detrimental to your essay, since too many Wikipedia editors have been at the receiving end of my considerably less-than-calm self during disputes. I have a temper, and I am at times unsuccessful at controlling it. I don't usually panic, but I'm hardly an appropriate poster child for staying calm. If I were you, I would leave my name out of it, just take any ideas (which are hardly original with me in the first place) and use them if you wish.

However, I still think you should focus on article work, and work incrementally up from there. Writing an essay might be good to help focus you, but it's doubtful that at this stage in your Wiki-career you have enough experience to write one which is going to be useful to other editors. Since some of my timestamps are in local time, and some are in UTC, I'm a bit confused about the timeline here, so I've requested the blocking admin, Black Kite, to take a look. If Doorknob747 did indeed create Door's ghost during his block -- and it was my understanding that it was not possible to do this, unless perhaps he deliberately switched to a different IP -- than I agree it was a big mistake, and Doorknob's block is going to be upped, perhaps even to indef, since his behavior continues to move toward looking less newbyish and more trollish. I had your account on my WP:Watchlist; it might be because I suspected you of being a WP:Sockpuppet from the start, but I wasn't sure which main account you were and I'm still not sure. Request reason:

1. The reason for the short timings between my and dodo's sock edits was because, after every edit that I made to ANI, I always go to the edit history of the ANI page. I do this since, always the page size on ANI becomes crazy huge in page size. Also, there is a backlog in the archive of the old topics, that were closed, so I can notify someone that the archiving process has a problem. I always wanted to help out Admins in some way. Another reason for the short timing is because, most of the time when I am mentioned on ANI for every time there is a change on ANI I go back to look in the history page.

2. Grammar, does not mean anything, more than one person can have the same grammar problems. So, grammar is not a reason why, someone can call me dodo.

3. Why did this dodo target me first? It is because, I know dodo outside of Wikipedia on Gameloft forums, where he has a account with the same name where I insulted him. Everyone on gameloft forums knows I have a Wikipedia account and the name of the account.

4. I do not see any reason stated by the user who blocked me for why I was blocked or why he/she thinks I am the sock.

5. Why did this dodobird thing was brought up by me a long time after since dodo, vandalized my page a long time ago? It, was because, I felt there most likely is a intimate possibility of his return of his return since, many alts were found related to dodo bird on Gameloft forums. Note: Even I was accused there and it was stated by a moderator there, that dodo could not be me after they did a investigation. The last page on link states that I am not the vandal over there.
