Assignment 3 Copyedit/Week 3 - TT in NYU

In the second paragraph, I did three edits, two about change the verb "lower" to "lowering, and also simplify the word "component" to "part".

My experience with the Wikipedia course assignment is awesome. I never knew that contents in Wikipedia can be changed by anybody, which I found shocking. I learned that since anyone can make edits, Wikipedia cannot be counted as a reliable source in any research and study. For me, I would like to continue editing on Wikipedia because I enjoy writing and sharing new information with other readers on Wikipedia. I like the Wikipedia course assignment and I think it is meaningful. I learned to add content and images to Wikipedia through those assignments. I also found that our editing content was reviewed and modified by the person in charge and other readers, which requires us to be responsible for all the content we publish. I searched for materials and learned a lot in the editing process. My experience with Wikipedia course assignment
This is a fresh and exciting journey for me. I can actually contribute my thoughts to the public and help or be helped with the exiting work to make it become better!
What you learned
The most important thing that I learned from this journey is everything that you post(even the picture) must be reliable and verifiable because of everyone can see your work and they may be confused by your untruthful sharing.
Why intend to continue editing on Wikipedia
There are many things that I know but no one else knows in my social network (things about my home town, country, school, and so on) and the introduction about these things on Wikipedia are not complete. I want to help develop these kinds of articles to let more people know these things.

Assignment 7 Extra Bonus/week 7- TT in NYU

My experience with Wikipedia course assignment
This is my first time to do the work on the website of Wikipedia. It is exciting, challenging but also stressful. You really have to pick the word when you are doing any revision.
What you learned
I learned the rule when do any changes on Wikipedia, such as how to pick a suitable article to work on, what kind of source should I use, and how to add the media. I have to say this experience really strengthened my concept of copyright and neutral view and I will pay more attention to respect other people's work and try to avoid any bias in the future.
Why intend to continue editing on Wikipedia
I am pretty sure I will keep using Wikipedia, but I am not sure about editing. Because I really afraid of if I say something wrong in such a public, open space, and the results after that. I also worry that if I mess up other's work when editing .

Dear professor, Firstly, I want to thank you for teaching us how to edit the articles on Wikipedia. It is really an amazing journey.

I remembered that I felt a little nervous about making my first edit on Wikipedia even though it was a small grammar edit. After making grammar edits, I learned how to add references for sentences and also added sentences for improving the quality of articles. Finally, for the sixth assignment, we also learned the process of adding images on articles.

When I edit an article, I need to search for several journals to work out the most suitable references for editing. Therefore, I read more high quality academic articles than before. Hi professor, I really enjoy the process of learning new things through Wikipedia. The statistics you showed us in last class made me realized that every small change is going to influence others a lot. Thus, we should pay more attention on what we make changes and what we write. Just like in our daily life and at work, we should focus on details even they are small. What is more, the assignment makes me know more about how to use wikipedia from different sides, how to do research and how to express my ideas.
