Your contributed article, Cathedral of Guadalajara

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Cathedral of Guadalajara. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Guadalajara Cathedral. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Guadalajara Cathedral – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 07:23, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your new articles

[edit]

I see you've created some new articles. Good job! But there are few things we can improve:

  • as noted above, you should check if an article exists on Wikipedia under a related name. A good way to to it is either 1) google search for a term +Wikipedia or 2) check the Spanish Wikipedia for an article, then check that article for interwiki links in the left panel. For example, if you looked at this panel in es:Catedral de Guadalajara (Jalisco) you'd see there is already an English article. For now, try to merge your new content (copy and paste to the existing article), and then try to create a redirect in place of your older article. I've also redirected Pedregal de San Ángel to Jardines del Pedregal, which seems to be another article that is already here (if you want to copy any content to add to that article, you can find it in the history). Similarly, I redirected Colonia del Carmen to Coyoacán#Colonia_del_Carmen; in this case I am afraid it wasn't clear what the original article was about.
  • Ahualulco Del Sonido 13, San Luis Potosi seems like it should be merged to Ahualulco; you certainly were able to find some useful information to expand the existing tiny article here
  • Cerro de las Campanas: I've added some categories. Please add the title to the second reference.
  • Universidad Autónoma del Estado should be merged to Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo
  • Ricardo Garibay did not exist here - good job starting that (people's name don't usually change from Spanish to English so those articles are easier to see if they are missing). See here how another editor improved your article with interlinks and such. If you like what they did, try sending them a thank you message :)
  • Laguna El Jabalí does not exist on English Wikipedia (or did not until you created it). Good find. But we need sources better then blogs. Blogs are not considered reliable sources, as anyone can post false information on a blog. Can you find official sources - published by city/state, university, or books/articles?
  • Valle de los Cirios also does not exist here, good job. See if you can add any categories to it, and expand it further with information from the Spanish Wikipedia.

Overall, excellent job creating so many articles, but I suggest in the future you double and triple check if they are not already on Wikipedia, to avoid spending time creating content that is already here. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 07:02, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Pungdo

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Pungdo, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. (See section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
  • It is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. (See section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Wikipedia has standards for the minimum necessary information to be included in short articles; you can see these at Wikipedia:Stub. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". I did some edits to the article; the source you used did not appear very reliable, so I replaced with with a better one. It seems the place is mostly referred to as an island, but it's a populated one. However, I have trouble finding out the name of the settlement there, and whether it's a town or just a village. Perhaps some of your Korean friends can help you investigate? --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:51, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Abundio Martínez requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Ways to improve Sierra de Álvarez

[edit]

Hi, I'm Kudpung. Feryeah13, thanks for creating Sierra de Álvarez!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Perhaps you could expand this article by at least including which country it is located in. USA Mexico? Spain? Ecquador? Thanks

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 13:58, 3 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Agrupación política nacional has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be a guide on how to register as a political party. WP:NOTHOWTO

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Control copyright icon Hello Feryeah13, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Ansan Cultural Center has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:59, 4 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Recreational Park El Cedral has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to be primarily a small recreational venue that doesn't meet the WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
