Hi, how can I write about Tennis Academy without promoting it? thanks for advice.. it's about EMPIRE Tennis Academy... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leonard Popovic (talkcontribs) 00:18, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Leonard Popovic you can't unless you have independent secondary sources that have writtwen about the academy. Flat Out let's discuss it 00:21, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Flat Out, I don't know why you have deleted all the informations about the tennis coach Miloslav Grolmus, the players like Jozef Kovalík and Filip Horanský are notable, they are in the ATP rankings... and they have own profiles... another informations about Grolmus were also sourced but mostly in Slovak language... there are no other sources.. please, explain in to me, I was publishing this article for 3 hours and now is all my work gone... thanks

Deletion of Privacy and Search engines

I am aware of the deletion notice, I am making adjustments necessary that would aid my defense to have it included. Is there a deadline for this notice before deletion takes effect? Can I also switch to articles of creation to offset the deletion process, while I am working on getting all content areas up to scratch. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaelox (talkcontribs) 15:16, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Notability

I wouldn't call that heavy editing, you simply deleted all of them... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leonard Popovic (talkcontribs) 17:54, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

You can't write about living people if you dont have a reference. Flat Out let's discuss it 21:31, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

So, if these players (Kovalík, Horanský) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jozef_Koval%C3%ADk Horanský and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filip_Horansk%C3%BD are not notable, why there are articles about them on Wikipedia? do you use double standard on Grolmus? The same thing with Platenik and Molnar... who are these persons on wikipedia for example?

One of them won a major title, not sure if that meets the standard. The other is unsourced and I have marked for deletion. Just because you find articles on Wikipedia that are also poorly referenced doesn't mean yoyurs can stay as it is. There are hundreds of thousands of articles here and I am only commenting on those I have read and edited. Flat Out let's discuss it 21:31, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Thompson_%28fitness%29 (backup dancer for Mariah Carey?!) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jillian_Michaels_%28personal_trainer%29 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Harper_%28personal_trainer%29 (celebrity client Jennifer Jason Leigh)

I suggest you read WP:BLPNOTE. Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper have extensive coverage in the media by independent, secondary sources. They clearly meet the standard. Shaun Thompson is a close call but you can see it has been heavikly edited by User:Cult of Green for the same reason.Flat Out let's discuss it 21:31, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

and etc... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leonard Popovic (talkcontribs) 18:00, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

OK, you said that Filip Horanský will be deleted... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filip_Horansk%C3%BD... but you are wrong because he met the standards, by the way..

I didn't say Filip Horanski will be deleted, I said that you didn't provide any reference for his inclusion in your article.Flat Out let's discuss it 02:13, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

You send me this: This guideline applies equally to singles and doubles players. Junior players are presumed to be notable if they have won at least a junior Grand slam title, have been in the top 3 of the junior ITF world rankings or can be shown to meet the wider requirements of WP:GNG. And: Horanský became No. 3 in the ITF rankings in May 2011 when he won singles title at the 52nd Trofeo Bonfigli tournament in Milano. - so he was No. 3 in the world... you deleted this, too..

Yes, Horanský is notable udner that definition. That doesn't necessarily make his coach notable, because one person can not inherit notability from aother person. Flat Out let's discuss it 02:13, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

So can we agreed that I know little bit more about these players and coaches than you? I have no idea why I can't write about Platenik (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladim%C3%ADr_Pl%C3%A1ten%C3%ADk) that he was a coach of Dominika Cibulkova or Nadia Petrova, well-known tennis players.. you left just this sentence - In 2014, it was announced that Pláteník had begun working with the WTA player Patricia Mayr-Achleitner from Austria.... it's very odd... Cibulkova @ Platenik cooperation: http://www.foxnews.com/printer_friendly_wires/2009Jun02/0,4675,TENFrenchOpen,00.html... Petrova & Platenik cooperation (by the way, there is mistake, he is not her coach for a long time - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nadia_Petrova) - early life section: Petrova says that hard courts are her favourite surface, but she has been most successful on clay courts. She is currently coached by Vladimir Platenik (wrong information - if I will change it, you will delete it, too?).

Wikipedia needs you to write articles for other readers not yourself - and you need to supply references so that other editors can verify that what you are writing is correct and fair. You haven't done that. Flat Out let's discuss it 02:13, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

for example see Nick Bolletieri: NO source for a lot of players: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Bollettieri Nicholas James Bollettieri (born July 31, 1931), is an American tennis coach, born to Italian parents, who is credited with developing many leading players, including Andre Agassi, Jim Courier, Monica Seles, and Mary Pierce. He also has worked with Maria Sharapova, Daniela Hantuchová, Jelena Janković, Nicole Vaidišová, Sabine Lisicki, Sara Errani, Tommy Haas, Max Mirnyi, Xavier Malisse, Venus Williams, Serena Williams, Martina Hingis, Anna Kournikova, Marcelo Ríos, Kei Nishikori, and coached Boris Becker for two years.

Nick Bollettieri is tagged at the top of the article because it doesn't have enough sources and it also needs some sections removed because they breach [WP:BLP]]. Flat Out let's discuss it 02:13, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

Flat Out, you have deleted all my articles (Grolmus, Molnar, Platenik) without any possibility to talk about edition of this articles before (I have no problem with that).. I don't think that this is correct and fair and let's talk about all of three coaches what we can publish again and what not... thank you.. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Leonard Popovic (talkcontribs) 23:21, 2 March 2015 (UTC)

Leonard Popovic I haven't deleted any articles, I have edited them. You dont own the articles. Anyone can edit them. I deleted sections of the articles because they were in breach of WP:BLP. Everything you write about a living person must be supoorted by a reliable source. You should read that policy.
I'm not able to delete articles but I can edit them and I can nominate articles for deletion if I don't believe they met the required standard. Nominating articles is not a personal attack on you, its to ensure articles are of an encyclopedic nature. When you write an article about a topic, you need to make sure that you supply reliable sources to support those articles so that other editors can verify that what you are writing is correct. We don't just take your word for it. Thanks for your contribution. Flat Out let's discuss it 01:48, 3 March 2015 (UTC)

ClauseMatch

I'm not quite sure if I quite understand the guidelines for deletion. There are numerous other entries on Wikipedia which are of a nearly identical nature. That is, a startup company with a promising technology which has achieved some recognition for their work. In this case, the company has won two notable competitions for startup companies. Everything which was input was directly sourced, but you went in and deleted the source.Sprintercourse (talk) 05:01, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Sprintercourse and thanks for your question. Companies need to meet WP:CORP or WP:GNG. WP:CORP states that "Sprintercourse

No company or organization is considered inherently notable. No organization is exempt from this requirement, no matter what kind of organization it is, including schools. If the individual organization has received no or very little notice from independent sources, then it is not notable simply because other individual organizations of its type are commonly notable or merely because it exists (see "If it's not notable", below). "Notability" is not synonymous with "fame" or "importance." No matter how "important" editors may personally believe an organization to be, it should not have a stand-alone article in Wikipedia unless reliable sources independent of the organization have discussed it.

See also WP:CORPDEPTH. If you still don't understand please let me know and I will try and assist. Flat Out let's discuss it 05:12, 8 March 2015 (UTC)

I am better understanding Wikipedia. Looking at the list here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Stanford_University_people#Biology.2Fbiochemistry.2Fmedicine they are mostly Nobel Prize winners. Can I remove Aaron's page? Maybe we should wait? I'd much rather that there be no page than a page with 10 different issues.

Strathmore Business School Draft article

Hi Flat Out. Here is the draft page with the above title https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Strathmore_Business_School. You suggested some ways in which I could edit it, and I did so (hope I went as far as you would have me do). Please check it, as you said you would, before I resubmit it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mathewabiero (talkcontribs) 14:14, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Mathewabiero, most of the issues with the article are still there. The main problem is you don't have many independent sources that have written about the Business School. You need newspapers, books, articles etc that have written about the school. Flat Out let's discuss it 10:34, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Flat Out, thank's a lot for the feedback. I have made further amendments. Please check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Strathmore_Business_School again and tell me what you think. I apologize for the bother. Thanks. Mathewabiero — Preceding undated comment added 11:18, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Flat Out' let's discuss it Thank you for taking the time to review my article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Dynamic_Mindset_Advertising_(DMA)! I have shortened it significantly due to previous comments that it is written in too long a format... Now I understand it is suffering from insuficient context... I would very much appreciate additional guidance in this regard, so I can properly re-write it. Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Naamam118 (talkcontribs) 10:52, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Naamam118, you still have content and references that don't mention Dynamic Mindset Advertising (DMA). You can't say "this is an example of DMA" if the source you use doesn't say that. Go throug and delete those references which don't mention DMA. Best wishes, Flat Out let's discuss it 10:28, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi Flat Out thank you so much for your prompt response! I added additional relevant context references for the DMA definition https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Dynamic_Mindset_Advertising_(DMA). The external references are only for the "History" section - aimed to base the market developments, size and statistics quoted on external sources as well. Are those references supposed to be deleted? Thanks again for your advise! Naamam118 (talk — Preceding undated comment added 11:05, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
Naamam118, history and context is fine as long as they mention DMA AND you don't misrepresent what the sources say. You can only summarise the key points contained in the sources you've supplied. For example, you say "Dynamic mindset advertising is the most recent advancement in the field of in-game advertising" but the source doesnt say its a recent advancement.Flat Out let's discuss it

Eric Sollee

Hi Flat Out, Great news about Eric Sollee being accepted as an article. Thank you! I see that it got a B. I'm quite happy with that for my very first article. I did read the criteria for scores and I understand in general. Are there any specific things that you might suggest to work on next to improve the article? More info? more citations? more depth? more breadth? formatting? etc. RobSVA (talk) 14:19, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

BTW, I went through and put almost all of the citations into the "{{cite web" format. I wasn't sure how to do that for the link to a Wiki Article. Is the change in format sufficient to get rid of the "unclear citation style" banner? Also, how do you put a "wiki coding", for example a sample citation, into a talk page without having use that coding? RobSVA (talk) 16:48, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
RobSVA good job on the article and the fixed citations, I've removed the maintenance template. As far as grading, - please read this. B is really good, I think all of mine are stubs and start class :) Flat Out let's discuss it 20:21, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

00:41:18, 21 March 2015 review of submission by Danny Ropis

I'm just looking for guidance re the online presence of articles cited. Due to the date the incident occurred I have been unable to source, via Highbeam/other, online versions. If you can point me in the right direction here that would be greatly appreciated.

With regards to the style of the article, for factual accuracy, I have tried to keep details regarding the incident as close to those as presented in the various newspaper articles at the time. I realize that this means that the article appears somewhat journalistic, but the intent here is to present the facts as they were provided to the public. As there was fierce community debate/uproar at the time regarding how the fight between Pea and his killer started leading to an erroneous lingering memory in the minds of many Perth people that Pea was innocently attacked and killed with no prior provocation; which, according to the articles cited, in not the case.

SunStar group info verifiability & notability

Hello, thank you for your recent review of the SunStar article. I noticed that it was not accepted, because it apparently did not meet verifiability and notability requirements. However, I am still not clear on where the article is lacking. For example, all of the data cited in the article comes from reliable sources, including the company website itself and other data sources. (Note that I am not personally affiliated in any way with the company). Is the problem that there is not a reference for each of the data provided in the article? For example, would there need to be a secondary reference (e.g. the company's website) pointing out that the Consumer Goods Business is actually located in Switzerland? Would this be sufficient to meet "verifiability" requirements? Perhaps if you have a "good" example page you could point me to, that might be helpful.

All of the data provided in the article is written from a completely neutral and non-biased perspective. It is strictly factual, and not written as a "marketing" article.

Also, regarding notability, all of the references cited are from reliable 2nd party sources, not original research. They are web/news articles that are directly related to Sunstar and/or its products. These were representative (not an exhaustive listing) articles that demonstrate notability of the businesses that comprise the Sunstar group. Could you explain why this doesn't meet the notability requirement, and what kinds of references would meet that requirement instead?

Thanks so much, David — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidintokyo1 (talkcontribs) 09:56, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi Davidintokyo1 and thanks for your question. You have listed sources but you have not linked them to the body of the article. See Apple Inc. - all content is sourced with inline citations. To be notable, the article eneds to meet the criteria at WP:CORP and in short, multiple sources other than the company need to have written about the company. I hope this helps. Flat Out let's discuss it 22:21, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello again. I did list sources and link them to the body of the article, and I added a few additional sources into the body of the article which are from secondary sources. I believe these should meet the notability requirements. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidintokyo1 (talkcontribs) 14:47, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Donald Doe article

Hello there, I saw that you reviewed my wiki on Donald Doe, and declined it. I was not expecting this, since my previous discussion with the other reviewer, One5969, had OKed it to be published if I made a few edits that she/he listed. After making those edits I submitted it. This was the third round of conversations on the piece with him/her, so many edits were made in the past. Could you please inform me of what is required to finish it up under your guidelines? You state that every single statement needs a source, and most of them have such sources, only that they lie within the same website link. I don't know how, plus don't want to clutter the text, with many links to the same source. I figured having the link to the source at the end of the paragraph would be enough, rather than linking every single sentence to the same source. Am I incorrect in this assumption? I would like to get this article up, so any information on that topic would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time. -SageheartBK [[1]] — Preceding unsigned comment added by SageheartBK (talkcontribs) 23:08, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Hi SageheartBK and thanks for your question. I don't know where Onel5969 had suggested they would pass the draft, but I can only make an assessment on what is before me and to take into account the comments left by other reviewers. Your article is a biography of a living person and as such, every single statement must be supported with a reliable source. As an example, the paragraph below makes a number of points - none of which are supported by the reference you supplied at the end of the paragraph.

The paintings are able to mold and alter the symbolic quality of the pirate, questioning some of the ideals and assumptions the iconic image holds. This is than framed in an image that is provocative and drenched in styles of a gendered past. It remains seductive, while employing a sense of freedom and surreal empowerment. In "Bodies Unbound, the Classical and Grotesque", a book published by the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art in 2012, an article explores Doe's work along side Martha Rosler. The article states that "The Doe and Rosler images present confrontational and oversized female bottoms that sexualize the female form and engender discomfort in the viewer

Wikipedia articles are supposed to be accurate summaries of what reliable sources have to say about a subject. Your article reads almost like an essay that you have written, with a few inline citations scattered through the article that often don't support what you have written. The paragraph below is another example, as there is no source and the writing is mostly the creator's point of view;

This juxtaposition can be seen in the titles of the paintings themselves. Many of the oil paintings carry titles that link to ancient mythology such as “Echo and Narcissus” and “Leda and the Swan”. This makes the paintings even more problematic, placing them within a historical and mythical narrative while having a modernized image. In 2003 there was a group show that Don Doe took part in, and was reviewed by the New York Times by Ken Johnson. Heterosexual male desire was not the most accepted theme for art during this time. Artists such as John Currin, Lisa Yuskavage, and Donald Doe have brought such themes into the artistic conversation with the problematic way they represent such desire. In this review, Ken Johnson, briefly explores the way Doe’s work interacts with mythology and male desire

I suggest that you read the criteria for artist notability at WP:NARTIST and reduce the article to statements about the subject that can be supported by reliable sources. Please don't hesitate to ask for help, good luck Flat Out let's discuss it 23:43, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

I took a quick look at your contributions and you could benefit from being more conciliatory. Also, when you've been banned for exceeding 3RR it's an indication to change your style. Interesting timing coincidence

See User talk:L235/Archive 20#LPK, Libby, Perszyk, Kathman article- only a few minutes after that message was added, you accepted their draft. Odd. Thanks for all your work in AfC! (also, I feel slightly better about my own talk page and unanswered messages after seeing yours :P) --L235 (t / c / ping in reply) 21:10, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

L235 what a coincidence indeed, a 1 in 476 chance to be reviewing that same article :) - it does take a while to answer the questions but if it means we get good editors as a result I don't mind most of the time. Best wishes Flat Out let's discuss it 21:36, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Unsure what you mean

Could you be more specific when you say "Having looked at a number of your sources, many don't support the content that they reference", which references are you referring to? Any help would be greatly appreciated. MattBuzza (talk) 18:49, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

MattBuzza your draft has an essay-like tone. See WP:NOTESSAY. Regarding the sources, you need to be sure that the content in the article is supported by the sources you reference. For example, if I say that "Flat Out uses a Les Paul Tribute guitar with a Marshall stack and Pandora effects" and the source says "Flat Out plays guitar in his spare time" then the detail of the content is not supported by the source. Draft: ORBIS PICTUS PLAY

Hello, you have recently declined my submission - draft of the article on ORBIS PICTUS PLAY (the title is usually written in all caps, however, it can also be Orbis Pictus Play if it complies with the Wikipedia policy better) with an invitation to discuss it. Well, I would like to ask if there is any chance you or another editor helps to edit the page (I mean more than declining the draft) so that it is more in an encyclopedic tone, as the reviewers keep suggesting? Thanks! I would be very grateful for any help. I am new to Wikipedia and I can only learn. Aknel3ova (talk) 08:00, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Aknel3ova I have changed the title for you. To fix the issues the article needs a total re-write, If I get time I'll do some work on it. Flat Out let's discuss it 08:31, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Thank you! I really appreciate your help. Aknel3ova (talk) 10:47, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Regarding New Article "Yasmina"

Hello Flat Out. Thank you for reviewing and giving feedback on my new article request. Its my first time in trying writing and article and I appreciate your effort bearing with me , especially my references are mainly in Arabic. I have fixed issues you pointed , and I reviewed Criteria for Musicians Notability. Please give me feedback about my article after editing , as I added parts which I think are enough for Notability. -point number 4 in Notability was "Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country". I have added references that mentioned Yasmina's participation in many national concerts in Egypt. -point number 6 was " is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles " I have added references that mentioned Yasmina has been a member of 2 known Ensembles in Egypt. -point number 9 was "Has won or placed in a major music competition." Yasmina has participated in Arabs got talent Competition , while this competition is not only for musicians , its probably the biggest "Got Talent" spin off as it includes participants from 22 countries , and Yasmina was the only singer or musician to reach the final , effectively beating all others including Nadia Azzi who already has a wikipedia page. -point number 10 was "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g., a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show" I put link to her performances in 2 TV shows (She performed 3 songs in each show)

Thanks for your time Link for edited article draft : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Yasmina — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yasmina Fan (talkcontribs) 13:17, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Contribution at ANI re TheLongTone

I'm puzzled. Looked at this discussion yesterday & it ended in this addition by you. Looked at it today & it's gone. I imagine that if you had had second thoughts you would have struck through & added a note, rather than deleting it, so I suspect dirty work at the crossroads. Looked again, found the diff where you'd removed it. And I entirely understand why you want nothing more to do with this sorry business.TheLongTone (talk) 14:05, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

yep, no-one had responded so I decided to call it quits for now :) Flat Out let's discuss it 23:28, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Response to revert of unconstructive edit

?? I am sorry, but I have no idea what you are talking about. Certainly did not make edits about some ?celebrity? that I have never heard of before.

Please do not message me again with inane rubbish of this sort..

Draft:A.M. SNiPER

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:A.M._SNiPER

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to review my article. I Saw your comment" "Every single statement needs to be supported with a reliable source. many of the claims are not referenced - including record sales." What if there is no online prove of record sales and some of the other things? Should I just remove them in order to get the article approved and add them later on when prove is existent?

Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ayianapageorge (talkcontribs) 11:58, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Ayianapageorge yes you can delete information for which you don't have a source. Flat Out let's discuss it 12:06, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Request on 08:12:15, 30 March 2015 for assistance on AfC submission by Dino-lite

Thank you for reviewing the page for Dino-Lite, i would like to receive some more detailed feedback about what is actufally wrong. It is true that i am directly connected to this organisation, but i do not see any objection to that. I am trying to write a factual piece about a well-known company, but this is being declined without (f)actual feedback. From the page about spam/advertisements on Wikipedia i would like to quote: "However, a differentiation should be made between spam articles and legitimate articles about commercial entities." Imho the article about Dino-Lite is a legitimate article about a commercial entity that has been active for 9 years already and has distributors in practically all countries in the world (see www.dino-lite.com/web/contact.html - and for Europe: http://www.dino-lite.eu/index.php/en/?Itemid=330). Here are some examples of Wikipedia articles about companies that Dino-Lite is competing with (as a new company compared to long existing companies, declining the entry about Dino-Lite is giving a new and innovative company a disadvantage over existing companies. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyence https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruker https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikon Also, you may claim that Dino-Lite is not a commercial entity but a product line. In that sense, here is another quote (from WP:CORP): "Note that a specific product or service may be notable on its own, without the company providing it being notable in its own right. In this case, an article on the product may be appropriate, and notability of the company itself is not inherited as a result." Apparently there is also something wrong with the referencing, i will study this further to find out how i can improve this. Best regards, Jan Boers Dino-lite (talk) 08:12, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

Dino-lite the problems you have are 1. The article needs to meet the notability criteria at WP:CORP and it doesn't at present, and 2. You have no inline citations. See WP:CIT. Flat Out let's discuss it 05:37, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

12:23:38, 30 March 2015 review of submission by Drangusmcleod

Thank you, I have read the information - can you check that the formatting is as you expect please? I have edited the References/Footnotes using <ref> </ref> so the full citation is shown below. Is that how you want this. If not, perhaps you could an example of the formatting so I can comprehend your recommendation? Many thanks indeed, Angus p.s. I am assuming that the revision coms back to you if I resubmit? Drangusmcleod (talk) 12:23, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

Drangusmcleod you now have 13 inline citations, but 11 of them are you. For your article to meet WP:BLPNOTE you need multiple independent sources to have written about you. Also, there is no detail in the reference to allow another editor to verify to sources. Please see WP:CIT Flat Out let's discuss it 05:43, 31 March 2015 (UTC)

Rin Nakai

Can you provide examples of which sources you had issues with on the Rin Nakai draft? Not really sure which caused issue since there were multiple sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.226.1.232 (talk) 20:18, 31 March 2015 (UTC)
