Hello, Giorgi1975, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Arutyun Shamshinyan, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Arutyun Shamshinyan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. G S Palmer (talk) 14:25, 27 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ketevan Juruli (Namoradze) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article. The nominator also raised the following concern:

All biographies of living people created after March 18, 2010, must have references.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Deletion discussion about Niko Gotsiridze[edit]

Hello, Giorgi1975,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Niko Gotsiridze should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Niko Gotsiridze .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Wgolf (talk) 03:37, 1 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:History of Dance.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:History of Dance.jpg, which you've attributed to Self. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mlpearc (open channel) 20:17, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Mlpearc,

I am writing on behalf of Giorgi Kalandia, the Director of the largest museum in Tbilisi, Georgia- the Georgian State Museum of Music, Theatre, Cinema and Choreography. I have recently updated a number of entries on wikipedia regarding the museum and the exhibits we hold here. The copyright of several images has been questioned. The photographs of the images were taken by Mr Kalandia within the last year. The exhibits themselves (paintings, documents, models and statues) are all property of the museum and many are so old as to be free from copyright status. It may be that, in the uploading of the tagged images I chose the wrong copyright option. Please advise me as to how I can ensure the images remain on wikipedia. I do not wish to enfringe copyright. Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards,

This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

A tag has been placed on Parnaoz Lapiashvili requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.

Please let us know why articles you start about people are important[edit]

Hello Giorgi1975.

I'm Peter Shirt58 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), a Wikipedia editor from Melbourne, Australia.

I've had a look at some of the articles you have started about people from Georgia.

The reason they are being nominated for deletion is because there is no reason given why they are important. In Wikipedia jargon that's called "notability".

It might be obvious to you why they are important. It isn't obvious to almost all editors of the English language Wikipedia why they are important: we aren't from Georgia!

To let us know whether a person is important enough to be included in the English language Wikipedia, please include a source that shows why they are important. It is a very good idea to make sure that source is also in English. For example: I found a source in English for Revaz Mirzashvili.

Please let me know if you have any questions at all.

The article Ana Vardiashvili has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

File permission problem with File:Portrait of Davit Arsenishvili (photo of) by I. Antanos.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Portrait of Davit Arsenishvili (photo of) by I. Antanos.jpg, which you've attributed to I. Antanos.

Notice

The article Michael Vadbolsky has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced since creation in 2014. 8 Google hits each for "Michael Vadbolsky" plus one of "chess" and "painter" means I'm unable to verify the article or improve it.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. A tag has been placed on File:Goethe's Faust (photo of).jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.

Notice

The file File:Manuscript of Sandro Akhmeteli.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Low-resolution image, impossible to read; one or more of the postcards might still be under copyright

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Image source problem with File:Georgian theatre statement.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Georgian theatre statement.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 15:10, 15 January 2023 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
