Rubber Blanket[edit]

Looking at your contribution history, it looks like you're just trying to clean things up, but somehow you got Mazzucchelli and Lewis' roles reversed on the "Beyond the Last Pier" story from Rubber Blanket page, so I've undone your edit. CüRlyTüRkeyTalkContribs 03:01, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for noticing, but it was not a mistake. Lewis created the artwork that became "Beyond the Last Pier," and Mazzucchelli wrote the text based on her drawings. Grumblepuss 23:55 EST, July 15 2011

File copyright problem with File:Mazzucchelli-Fanfaire.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Mazzucchelli-Fanfaire.jpg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

A tag has been placed on File:Mazzucchelli-Fanfaire.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz3q8XQV7lU. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. David Mazzucchelli[edit]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edits to David Mazzucchelli, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edits had to be reverted, mainly for hte following two reasons:

First, you removed various passages from the article, and/or the citations that support them, but without providing a rationale for this in an edit summary. These include mention of his middle name; mention of some of his more notable works from the Lead section, mention of his having taught a course at the School of Visual Arts, mention of a story he drew after Year One in the Career section, etc. When removing material, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page.

Second, you added uncited material to the article, including analytical or evaluative statements that exhibit a unattributed point of view in Wikipedia's voice. These include descriptions on Mazzucchelli's take on Batman in Year One, the style in which he drew his contribution to Superman and Batman: World's Funnest, etc. Other passages involve claims lacking supportive citations, such as the influence of his work on Rubber Blanket, that Asterios Polyp" was named a New York Times Notable Book of the year, receiving a fellowship to study in Japan for three years, awards added to the Awards section, etc.

Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. In addition, material on Wikipedia must be written in a neutral, dispassionate tone. Any critical opinions added to articles, like a film critic's opinion of a film, or analysis of an art style, must be similarly attributed to reliable sources.

Other problems observed in your edits include varied matters such as citing a YouTube channel that would likely not be considered to be reliable as a source per WP:IRS, placing the empty citation "[4]" after your added passage on Mazzucchelli's teaching work that has no content in it, changing the main portrait for no stated reason and placing the image you added outside the Infobox instead of placing it inside it, etc.

If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 01:02, 27 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
