Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Hansi667! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 322 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Thank you for uploading File:Iraklis 100years logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Armbrust Talk Contribs 15:52, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Iraklis H logo.gif

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Iraklis H logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. I have replied on the issue at WT:FOOTY. However, the respective section has been moved to the bottom of the page. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 12:26, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The main problem with the article is it needs a personal life section. This can just be basic stuff like endorsements, family and some stuff about early life (when did he first play football? school? how many brothers/sisters?) Spiderone 17:24, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Katerini, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Congregation (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:42, 30 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Iraklis march against relegation.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Kelly hi! 20:15, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Greece shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you get reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. GA Nomination for Education in the Faroe Islands

[edit]

Hi Hansi667, thanks for your work on the GA nominated Education in the Faroe Islands article. I had a look at it to begin reviewing and saw that it really isn't ready yet to be GA nominated. I would put it at a C class. If this is an article you'd like to develop further, I can provide you with feedback to get you started. But if you don't believe you'll have time to make major additions, I'd recommend withdrawing the nomination. Otherwise I will probably come back to quick fail it next week. A good starting point would be to look at other GA articles on national education systems, like Education in Malta and Education in Iceland. - Lemurbaby (talk) 13:30, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Lemurbaby: thank you for your interest to review Education in the Faroe Islands. I'd like to have the article assessed against the Wikipedia:Good article criteria. The article is certainly not a C-class one. Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 13:51, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, maybe I'll have a chance to do that this weekend. But I can tell you now that an evident area for improvement is broadness of coverage. Major aspects of the education system and its performance are omitted. Please do have a look at the two articles I linked to get a sense of what's missing. - Lemurbaby (talk) 13:56, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hansi667. I work on conflict of interest issues in Wikipedia. Please tell me why you created the subject article. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 05:46, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Jytdog: I can't tell any specific reason, just like I can't for any of the pages that I have created or edited. I just saw that the article was deleted, although recognized as notable, so that it coulb be properly rewritten. I'm currently unemployed, have a lot of time, so I thought It could be fun to do the research and rewrite the article, just to fill my time. NBL Canada

[edit]

Hello,

Thank you for the work you have put into expanding Wikipedia's coverage of the National Basketball League of Canada. You have done a great job of creating pages for players, events, and awards so far. A set of articles that desperately need creation are the NBL Canada drafts, however: 2014, 2013, and 2012. For the players, feel free to create a mass of stubs for now. Also, see Portal:National Basketball League of Canada for our new portal.

TempleM (talk) 11:47, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@TempleM: Thanks. Appreciate it. I don't really like creating stub articles. I'm currently working on a Stefan Bonneau article, that could even get a GA rating. I'll notify you when it's up, to add any photo of him you might have. It will be up later today. I have also done some categorization job of the photographs of NBL Canada on Wikicommons. Have a look there. You should create new categories when adding new material. It would be much easier for anyone to track it.Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 13:19, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Hansi667: The Stefan Bonneau article is looking good so far. If you want to create new pages for some NBL players, you should consider Ryan Anderson, Joey Haywood, Omari Johnson, and Antonio Ballard. Also, Anthony Anderson is probably the best player to play in the league, and his article may need some expanding (it already has an image). See the All-NBL Canada Team article for some more notable names. In addition, use {{Portal|National Basketball League of Canada}} at the top of the external links section when applicable. TempleM (talk) 19:58, 29 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@TempleM: I was actually planning to have an article on Omari Johnson. You can see it in my To do list. I'll expand that article anyway, at some point. The article I'm currently prepairing is the one on Adrian Moss. As you can see the article name will be Adrian Moss (basketball, born 1988), since there seems to be another professional basketball player with the exact same name. Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 11:56, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Hansi667: I created a very short article for Omari Johnson yesterday, so you would want to expand it instead of create it. Also, to avoid confusion, I am currently preparing an article on Joey Haywood. TempleM (talk) 19:41, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@TempleM: I have started creating the 2012 NBL Canada Draft article. Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 11:10, 9 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Hansi667: I decided to just create a stub page for Joey Haywood, because one of my sources (an article), was taken down from the Internet. Also, one descriptive article about his early life and childhood is on Wikipedia's blacklist, so I cannot use it as a reference. I recommend that you try creating pages for the 2012 and 2013 NBL Canada All-Star Game, because a lot of articles have links to them. Follow the format used in 2014 NBL Canada All-Star Game. TempleM (talk) 22:44, 10 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

I have created the template {{NBL Canada Year}} that can be used to more efficiently create links to the league's "season" articles. So if you want to link to the 2014-15 season with it reading 2014, you would write {{nblcy|2014|start}}, and if you want the same link but for it to read 2015, you would write {{nblcy|2014|end}}. Please use this in the infobox for players and wherever else it is necessary. TempleM (talk) 23:21, 7 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Hansi667: Hi. I've fixed your 3 images by tagging them with {{non-free logo}}. Fair use images not only need a rationale (which you provided), but an acceptable license tag as well. I've also tagged 2 of them as needing to be reduced to a lower resolution image because they're much too high res for fair use. A bot should take care of that automatically. --Nick—Contact/Contribs 16:37, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

College all-conference

[edit]

Please note that formatting for American college all-conference designation (like "All-MAC" for Michael Bramos) is listed as (example) "first-team All-XXX," NOT "All-XXX First team." This generally is how media names this honor, so that is what we follow. Recognize that this is different than how it is written for professional leagues ("All-NBA First Team). Thanks. Rikster2 (talk) 22:40, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Rikster2: Didn't know so to be honest. I made some search and I've found out that the "first-team All-XXX," style is much more common than "All-XXX First team.". On the other hand the latter is found too in reports (an example). If it is already agreed, I could follow the first style for the sake of consistency. But when I don't, please don't crucify me, it will be an unintended "mistake". Hansi667 (Neighbor Of The Beast) a penny for your thoughts? 23:20, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Could you please take a look on this discussion Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Høgni Reistrup. I find him notable, but the nominator does not, even after I have expanded the article and (hopefully) improved it. Høgni Reistrup is well known in the Faroe Islands - not only as a musician - and his book Exit Føroyar which he has co-written with Heri á Rógvi created much publicity in Denmark and the Faroe Islands, even in the two parliaments, the Folketing and Løgting, there was an event in the Folketing where he was one of three who gave a speech as an expert, and several of the biggest newspapers in Denmark and TV-channels, have quoted him. But he is not notable enough for the English Wikipedia according to the nominator of the deletion request. Could you please take a look and give your opinion? --EileenSanda (talk) 06:46, 18 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Notice

The file File:Marxist Leninist Communist Party of Greece logo.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 7 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
