Changes to route shields

Hi! I see that you are making changes in the shields of several roads of Puerto Rico (like this one, for example). The criterion that several users are following to correctly identify the road networks to which each road belongs is explained in the main article of the roads of Puerto Rico, which establishes that the primary routes are those from 1 to 99; the secondary ones, from 100 to 299, and the tertiary ones, from 300 onwards. It is for this reason that roads have been organized in the lists by the number they have and not by the level of importance they have in certain areas (for that reason, PR-165 should not be on this list that you edited). However, when we are talking about a specific road, it is possible to use those shields that it has in its different segments of its length (PR-1, for example), according to the existing route types in the infobox road, which are: Pri (primary), Urban (urban primary), Sec (secondary), Ter (tertiary) and PR (which includes the previous four simultaneously). With this PR type, we must be careful because in these categories of road shields of Puerto Rico on Wikimedia Commons may have been created some shields that do not necessarily correspond to the official signalization of a highway. Regarding the logo of the Autopistas de Puerto Rico, it should only be used for PR-22, PR-52, PR-53 and PR-66 highways because they are the only existing autopistas in Puerto Rico. Your confusion is due to the fact that other roads also have tolls, such as PR-20, or have a design similar to an autopista, such as PR-30. Do not confuse an expressway (limited-access road) with an autopista (controlled-access highway). The difference between autopista and expressway is given by the design standards (the autopistas in Puerto Rico are more similar to interstate highways in the United States, but have tolls). I recommend you visiting this and this links so you can correctly identify the road networks to which each road belongs. Remember that the PR type in the infobox road may be including shields that do not correspond to the official signage of each road, so you should be more aware of these details. According to THIS document from PR's DTOP, page 1-1, section 1-02, an autopista is a freeway that charges a toll. If a given road charges a toll, then it is an autopista regardless of whether DTOP has put up any type of additional signing with words and/or logos on them to the effect. I can't seem to put my fingers on it right now, but I believe there is a document available online which explains, as I recall, that while all PR "autopistas" charge a toll (that's DTOP's definition of an autopista in PR), not all roads that charge a toll are part of the "Autopistas de Puerto Rico" logo system, i.e., the system that employs/employed shields such as these:

That is, there are autopistas that are managed under a different (public/private partnership?) entity, not DTOP directly.

Likewise, the use of Primaries being 1-99, Secondaries 100-299 and tertiaries 300-9999 should be consistently followed in all PR highway articles. This system is, according to THIS same document from DTOP (page 1-2, section 1-03.01), the way how DTOP has chosen to correlate route numbers and highway types in Puerto Rico.

There is a truckload of PR shields in Commons that are nonsense (e.g., 901 as a primary or 778 as a secondary road), and shouldn't be used in any article.

The reason why PR-901 appears with a primary shield is due to the fact that PR-53 has not yet been concluded between Yabucoa and Maunabo (it is a way to give continuity to the primary network in the southeast region to avoid an abrupt interruption of the network in the absence of a highway that meets the standards to facilitate movement between regions). PR-3 has more curves than PR-901 between Yabucoa and Maunabo. For this reason PR-901 acquires considerable importance in that area (see page 135 of this document). Once PR-53 is completed, PR-901 should be completely tertiary. The same happens with PR-123 between Adjuntas and Utuado due to the PR-10 gap (see pages 70 and 71). As I said before to Harrison Canyon, one thing is the number of a road (for its classification in articles based on the definition by DTOP) and another is the level of importance of that road in a specific area (as can be seen in maps, this document and shields in Commons). @Yarfpr: I recently cleaned up the article on Puerto Rico Highway 901 precisely because it made a lot of statements that weren't cited. I think if someone adds that cite above and some of the info in your comment, it would be beneficial. IAE, you might want to check out PR-10 and PR-123 because they play a similar dance as PR-53/901. You might want to see how it was done there. Note also in PR-10 how the table there accounts for the segment of the road that's not yet completed its construction and how the fact traffic gets diverted to PR-123 gets represented and all is done with numerous cites that the reader can check against. For example, if 901 is temporarily signed as a Primary Road, a cite should be given for that claim. Just an idea. By the way, you don't need to ping the owner of a talk page when you are editing his talk page; they will automatically get an alert because edits to a user's Talk Page always produce an alert without you having to use the ping template. If, on the other hand, you edit your own talk page, say, in response to a comment I made in your page, you should ping me so I know you have responded, bc I won't get an alert other that via my watchlist (and only if your talk page is in my watchlist). Hi! Currently @Mercy11: and I are trying to correct the identification of Puerto Rican roads in Wikipedia and we would like to ask you to help us implement those changes. I am grateful to you for your interest in following the recommendations that appear in this link that I shared with you, but it may be probable that this list doesn't always conform to the changes we want to implement.

The criteria that we are using to make these changes correctly are the following:

• Primary shields (|type=Pri): roads between 1 to 99 only (never between 100 to 9999).
• Urban primary shields (|type=Urban): any road between 1 and 9999, as long as they have relevance in the interior of a city. If the road passes the outskirts of a city, this shield shouldn't be used (PR-139, for example).
• Secondary shields (|type=Sec): roads between 1 to 299 only (never between 300 to 9999).
• Tertiary shields (|type=Ter): any road between 1 and 9999.

The |type=PR shouldn't be used on many roads because it may be including improper shields. We already discussed this before, but I wanted to bring it back into discussion.

Hi, Harrison! I saw that you tried to delete the article I created for Puerto Rico Highway 158 and then you wrote this on the talk page. What was your motive to try to remove the article? If you noticed, Phil Bridger, responsibly, reversed your request because my article has a valid reference to prove the existence of that proposed road, contrary to the article you created for Puerto Rico Highway 95, which had no reference to support its existence in Wikipedia. Since before you created that article, I asked you to include these references, but you didn't do it as recommended. For that reason, your article was removed until those references are included.

I also saw last night that you removed the PR-4 from the primary highways list. According to your argument, "PR-4 is now PR-8" and, therefore, "isn't needed to be on the list". This is incorrect because PR-4 was on Avenida Iturregui, contrary to PR-8. That a road no longer exists doesn't mean that it must be removed from the list. In fact, it is necessary to incorporate it so that people see that this number was used in more than one place at different times.
