Infobox film
[edit]You cannot insert your own formatting preferences in a Wiki article. There are instructions in Template:infobox film and a default template is given. There's a purpose for everything designed within it. Wikimedia server space is not your concern as far as the designers of Infobox film (after discussions and consensus) are not worried about it.
- The spacing is to easily view and identify the parameters at-a-glance while source editing.
- Parameter "film name" is not for adding phonetics as you did, and should not be used in Indian articles per WP:INDICSCRIPT.
- 'India' should not be linked since well known cities and countries are not linked, it's Wiki guideline.
- Parameter "border" is not in Infobox film, thus you are trying to add a deprecate field not even part of the template.
- Your query on "narrator" parameter - are you sure there is no narrator in the film ? and it's part of the infobox.
- The template specifically suggests to use Plainlist, not Ubl. Same in the case of Film date df.
If you have any problem with these, start a discussion for making changes at Template:infobox film, not edit against it.--Let There Be Sunshine 20:25, 17 February 2018 (UTC)
- I already did this thing to many articles. I accept all my faults here. But is it a crime to use better templates if they are available? Every admin here just go on explaining what is this and that. Can't you accept all edits just like this guy: Sitush. This infobox layout I changed on many major articles: Camila (album), Revival (Selena Gomez album), Revival (Eminem album), etc. No one has problems with it. And then out of nowhere you appear here. One thing you must know that when working on Wikipedia, do it neutral point of view and with a poker face and accept what others did if it is right. There was massive chopping of the text I asigned to the alt parameter and look, did I do anything? And I don't think there is any problem with my edit. It is not hurting the sentiments of the article and there is no impact on the appearance (one of the best reason). Don't act like you are the massiah here on Wikipedia who will bring piece and order. Just you wait, it is a matter of time until I become a template editor. I'm gonna bring that infobox film template in order. HARSH RATHOD (talk) 02:30, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
You are welcome to edit as far as you follow the given manual of style and guidelines in Wikipedia. Not in your own style. What you are saying is admins and fellow editors should stand back and shut their mouth as you don't want to be taught or interested in learning to how to edit Wikipedia. You could get blocked if you continue this way. Sitush probably have given up on you and must have more important things to be worried about. Most editors see infobox editing as trivial, that's probably why your edits went unnoticed. And yes, you did something in "alt" text; who said they are 'protagonists' who are holding hands ? it's something you don't know. Having said you have changed the style in many infoboxes, you shall refrain from doing that again. BTW, I have reverted one edit you made on Film date, don't do that it will only count as vandalism. Thanks, I seriously hope you understand. --Let There Be Sunshine 09:57, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
- That means you are trying to say that you are the ultimate massiah here. I didn't say editors should shut their mouth and stand back. I said they should only hinder if something very wrong is going. See this page: Venom (2018 film). I prevented vandalism here. I am too working for the good of WP. And film date template I just changed the value asigned to df parameter from text to binary. What is wrong in that? Give explanation for this. And for that alt value I was saying that I accept what happened to it and made changes accordingly. DON'T INTERPRET THINGS THE WAY YOU LIKE! You a an admin here, does not change the fact that you won't make vandal-oriented edits in future. And I didn't make those edits again after you warned me for second time. HARSH RATHOD (talk) 10:14, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
As I said templates are designed after discussions and consensus, there may be a good reason why they suggest it that way. We should be following those. If you have suggestions, please start a discussion at Template talk:Infobox film. Who knows, may be it could become fruitful and may even bring a change in template. Thanks. --Let There Be Sunshine 16:55, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thankyou. I was thinking of doing this but I might not get enough support. But I can at least try. I want this on every infobox template pages. Believe me, this is gonna save lots of space if implemented. Editors like you will definitely hinder but I will request them to take at least two 2 minutes to reconsider my suggestion. I will tag/mention you when making this suggestion. END OF THIS FIGHT. HARSH RATHOD (talk) 15:10, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
WP:INDICSCRIPT
[edit]This request for help from administrators has been answered. If you need more help or have additional questions, please reapply the admin help template, or contact the responding user(s) directly on their own user talk page. |
Previously I was attacked by these two admin users: User:Let There Be Sunshine and User:Sitush for adding Indic-script on the WP pages. They were so concerned about the use of it that they speedily undone my edits. Assuming good faith, I accepted what they did in accordance with WP:INDICSCRIPT, but when I saw many articles using Indic-script I was so confused what is going on. Therefore, I am seeking admin help in this matter. Thankyou. These articles are in question: Aksar, Aksar 2, Arko Pravo Mukherjee and many more. Harsh Rathod 06:03, 22 February 2018 (UTC)"Being master editor doesn't make you a god"
- You have not made clear what you want done that needs an administrator, so I am not sure that I can give you whatever help it was that you wanted. However, I will make a few comments, which may or may not be helpful to you.
- I thought you were saying that Let There Be Sunshine and Sitush had reverted your edits on the three articles you listed, but I found that neither of them has ever edited any of those articles, so to begin with I was puzzled. On thinking further, I decided that what you probably meant was that those articles contain Indian scripts, which you have been told they shouldn't. If so, then probably the best thing to is to remove it, but since you are in doubt it would perhaps be safer to consult someone with a lot of experience in this area (which I don't have) before doing that. Being an administrator doesn't give anyone any more knowledge of consensus on editing India-related articles than anyone else, and far more relevant than being an administrator is having a lot of experience in that subject area. From my experience I know that Sitush has very extensive knowledge of editing India-related articles, and I am sure that if you ask him he will be happy to help. Let There Be Sunshine may be just as knowledgeable in the area, but I don't have enough experience of him to know. However, it is clear to me from his comments above that he is very willing to try to help you, so you could ask him.
- Incidentally, neither Let There Be Sunshine nor Sitush is an administrator, and I'm not sure why you thought they were.
- While I am here, I will offer a piece of advice on another matter, in case it may be helpful to you. I don't see where either of the two editors you mention has "attacked" you: they certainly haven't on this page. Both of them have tried to help you by explaining things to you which you didn't seem to be aware of. It would be a good idea to bear in mind that suggesting that someone has attacked you when they haven't can sometimes be seen by other editors as an attack itself, so I suggest it would be a good idea to avoid use of that word except in really blatant cases of serious attacks. Also, there is a danger that some editors might think that some of the things you have said have been attacks, such as accusations of "vandalism" where there was none, comments such as "Being master editor doesn't make you a god" and "trying to say that you are the ultimate massiah [sic] here". Since no doubt you would like to avoid the likelihood of editors thinking you are attacking people, it would probably be a good idea to avoid saying things of that kind.

- Thankyou for your help. Those were not the pages my edits were undone. One has been deleted. Other is this. My question is that if indic script is not allowed then why the heck articles still have them? Should I remove them? One major problem here on wikiproject India is that everybody wants to contribute but not wonder what is being conveyed. There is no quality on the pages. See this. I fixed English here but still it is filled with jargon. I will not use attack word again. Anyways, this is just a temporary discussion. Harsh Rathod 15:43, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
Signature
[edit]Please note that your signature needs to include a link, in accordance with WP:SIGLINK. --David Biddulph (talk) 15:45, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- Please answer my question there. I will change me signature to normal text in an hour. Harsh Rathod 15:50, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- It doesn't need to be "normal text", it's perfectly fine. It just needs to have a link: for instance, changing <span style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva;font-size:80%;color:white;background-color:black;;CSS">Harsh Rathod</span> to <span style="font-family:Monotype Corsiva;font-size:80%;color:white;background-color:black;;CSS">Harsh Rathod</span> would be perfectly fine. -A lad insane (Channel 2) 16:04, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
Done! Thankyou. Please answer my question here. Harsh Rathod 16:32, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
Anubhav (1986 film)
[edit]Hi there, I Am saddened to see your failed attempt to get the article Anubhav (1986 film) deleted.... anyways, happy editing.... cheers :-)) --Adamstraw99 (talk) 14:46, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- Thankyou! Congrats on your win! I had read the article about that Vidyapeeth University you had created. It is great. I assume, you also know that the image used in Anubhav 1986 film article is not a true poster for that film. And if I remove it. It will definitely be of no use. You will add it again. Anyways, I'm currently editing this article: Gold (2018 film). What do tou think about my edit on it? Though, I know your feedback will be biased. 😇 Harsh Rathod 15:09, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
hey I did not create Bharti vidyapeeth article but its founder's article instead, that too years ago, ...please check again... by the way your work in Gold (2018 film) look good.... keep it up bro.... and yes, I don't honestly remember when did i last edit in Anubhav film article... i guess i have hardly edited that article...And truly i have no intention to add any poster or anything in that film's article... it was a B grade movie and i am really least bothered about how that article takes shape in future... you are free to delete the poster or anything but with appropriate reasons...thank you -- Adamstraw99 (talk) 15:29, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
- Then why are you defending it? 🤔 Harsh Rathod 15:48, 26 February 2018 (UTC)
-- i defended it because it passes many aspects of WP:MOVIE ... not only this, I will also try to defend notable movies (which might have no music/popular song) which may or may not be flop just like Red Rose (1980 film) , Ek Ruka Hua Faisla or Bheja Fry (film).... come on, flop or B grade films too may deserve an article if notability is there --Adamstraw99 (talk) 16:01, 26 February 2018 (UTC) hi there @ Harsh Rathod , somebody added a new poster of the film in Anubhav (1986 film) (honestly i did not add :-( ) ... happy now?? somebody added sources too....i hope you don't have any complaint on this article now.... cheers....happy editing :-) -- Adamstraw99 (talk) 16:15, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
- 😏 Now it looks good. I feel happy for it. Since I liked the movie. I am gonna contribute to this page very soon. So, my nomination to this page deleted was of some use. 😜 Harsh Rathod 04:26, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
Reliable source
[edit]Hi there again Harsh Rathod, ... this is about your recent edit/source addition to Gold (2018 film).. I won't directly revert your edit but would definitely want you to read this -->> WP:RS/SPS ... thanks -- Adamstraw99 (talk) 04:13, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
- I know about this. But the fact is that the twitter account which I used to cite sources is verified by twitter. Even though it is a self published material. It is still reliable. Even Prime Ministers use twitter. On the contrary there is an Instagram post citation before I made these edits here. Is it reliable? Twitter is used more than Instagram. You are free to challenge these citations if you prove that Akshay Kumar twitter page is fake. What is the problem in this? Please quote text from WP:RS/SPS which is not being followed here. Harsh Rathod 04:49, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
-- Good to know you knew about this...Nobody is saying Akshay kumar account is fake or prime ministers don't use twitter... All I wanted to say is Facebook, twitter and Instagram are not considered reliable sources in wikipedia(no matter whos account is that)...I sent you link for that wiki guideline because i saw you added a "novice editor" badge for yourself in your page and I Want you to earn respect of fellow wikipedians by making constructive and rules abiding edits in the future... thanks -- Adamstraw99 (talk) 05:01, 2 March 2018 (UTC) Just a moment ago I was searching a page here to give Template Editors my suggestion for creating a new template called { {cite instagram} }. Was I doing right? 🤔 Harsh Rathod 05:32, 2 March 2018 (UTC) sorry, too technical... i have no clue -- Adamstraw99 (talk) 05:35, 2 March 2018 (UTC) @Adamstraw99 (talk): Okay, no problem, I will learn Lua and make that Template on my own since I had encountered many instagram citations. Harsh Rathod 05:41, 2 March 2018 (UTC)
INRConvert
[edit]Hi there, re: these changes, a minor note, we don't use INRConvert in film infoboxes anymore. This has been the standard for about a year and half. See WT:ICTF discussion archives if you care about the rationale. But broadly, it clutters infoboxes and presents problems with inflation, which, if "fixed", also clutters the infobox. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 07:59, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb (talk): Please provide me an alternative for that. Is this code: ₹XX.XX Crore, okay? Why is this info not mentioned in Template: Infobox film? Harsh Rathod 09:17, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
- But I saw that you did it on your own. 😤 Why the heck did you ask me here then? Just leaving the info on edit history was enough. I think you are poking me for nothing good. No problem, keep calm and listen to daft punk music: Da Funk. Harsh Rathod 09:35, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
I fixed the issue as a courtesy, then contacted you here as a courtesy to edify you about community preferences. How could I possibly know whether or not you read edit summaries? The point of talk pages is for discussion. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:42, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb (talk): You could've used notify instead of edify. Why confuse people unnecessary? Thankyou, end of this useless discussion. Keep calm and listen to Eminem music. Arose. But you didn't answer many of my questions. Harsh Rathod 12:17, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
Tollywood
[edit]First of all, you don't know any thing about INDIA and you are talking about HOLLYWOOD and America, Bengali makes galli films and you are calling it Tollywood, and you don't even know tamil films are Kollywood. (Tollywood means Telugu), (Kannada is sandalwood), who made you an editor. What you can edit without any basic knowledge. Do you think you are from another planet. Madhya pradesh is the neighbouring states of hyderabad, and you don't even know about Telugu language and calling it Tamil Sasianeel (talk) 20:06, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Sasianeel: What are you talking about? Did you read that discussion, carefully? It was USER: Cyphoidbomb, who was explaining about Kollywood, Bollywood, etc. I get that you are here for 12 years or so, but does it mean you should talk rudely to other fellow editors? 🤔 Harsh Rathod 02:47, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Sasianeel: It might do you some good to relax. I mistakenly wrote Tamil when I meant Telugu. See also Tollywood. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:58, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
Rollback granted revoked
[edit]Hi Harshrathod50. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 20:16, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Beeblebrox: I don't feel any advantage of this feature. It isn't as I expected it to be. Please revoke this privilege from my account. I am aiming to become an admin. 😚 You were right that getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. Harsh Rathod 10:17, 9 March 2018 (UTC)
Done I’ve never cared for it myself, I prefer Twinkle. Beeblebrox (talk) 03:41, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
@Beeblebrox: Can I have this privilege again because now I'm more frequent with mobile edits and it is very tedious undo each and every vandalism on mobile. Thankyou! Harsh Rathod Poke me! 05:40, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Done. Beeblebrox (talk) 06:23, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
@Beeblebrox: Can you please revoke my rollback rights because one user is not happy with it. He is implicitly warning. Even though I jist asked him to discuss before making controversial edits. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 07:26, 19 June 2018 (UTC)
- Done but I did read the thread at the edit warring noticeboard before doing so and as such felt compelled to note in the log that although it is self-requested it should also be considered ”under a cloud” and therefore you will need to request it again at WP:PERM if you want it back in the future. Bollywood again
[edit]Re: this, as previously discussed at Talk:Hate Story 4, the Indian film editing community doesn't see the need for industry nicknames. Please stop adding these until you have established a community-wide consensus. A good place to start might be WT:ICTF. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:16, 10 March 2018 (UTC)

Deletion of white space
[edit]Hi there, re: this, there's nothing inherently constructive with removing all of the white space in an infobox. Though you note that an example of your preferred formatting exists at Template:Infobox film, there also exists an example of all the fields neatly laid out. While the space-less version is preferred by some, the spaced version is also preferred by some because it's easier to read and to negotiate. While there is no consensus for either version, the general attitude is: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Unless you're trying to solve some specific formatting problem, it's best to leave this formatting alone and find other ways to contribute. Thank you, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:29, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- Why don't you leave me alone? What I am doing is justified and I also gave proof examples for it. You are an admin, if you feel bad about what I am doing, then just simply block me! I bet, you will feel so good after doing so. Block me, for two months. I have no objections. On the contrary, this will buy me time to get more equiped on the subjects. 😠 Harsh Rathod 14:54, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
"Why don't you leave me alone?
Because some of your edits are not consistent with established community practices and my duty is to bring changes back into alignment with community standards and educate inexperienced editors as well. If your plan is to go article to article and make changes without regard to community norms, you're naturally going to draw the scrutiny of other editors. Maybe a smarter approach than blindly reverting other editors is to consider that there are people far more experienced than you at Wikipedia who are far more familiar with how the community wants articles to look. It's nothing personal. If you like film articles, you should familiarise yourself with our Manual of Style for film. You might also consider looking at our general Manual of Style so that you know how to do basic things like format numerals and dates, etc. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:53, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Thankyou for telling me about this. Like I didn't knew about WP:MOS till now. No doubt, why this person left wikipedia. Harsh Rathod 16:06, 12 March 2018 (UTC)
Music parameter
[edit]Hi there, re: your edit summary, I had to refresh my memory on this. While the |music=
parameter is intended chiefly for the background score composer, there might be a justification to include other information, like song writers. Please take a look at this discussion under "Music_by:" and see what you think. Per one of the experienced editors, there are times when the score composer isn't as important. Just a thought. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:59, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: My theory is that if the film has got a background score composer who is officially asigned, employed and credited for this work then we ought to use only background score artist in the music parameter since the infobox is for film and not for soundtrack album. If no background score composer is available then populate music parameter with soundtrack album artists with no hesitation. Harsh Rathod 06:05, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- I support your views on "Music_by:" but not of the one who provided input. 😤 He was so ignorant of the efforts taken in composing background score saying that it is the incidental music between the musical numbers, which generally uses thematic material from the songs. God, why such people exist on earth? Harsh Rathod 08:22, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
I don't think his response comes from a place of ignorance. I think what he's trying to say, is that if a film is built as a true musical, like Oklahoma!, where the songs are crucial to the structure of the film's narrative, as opposed to being entertaining diversions that contribute nothing to the story (as sometimes is the case with Indian films,) then that music would be of greater importance than the score that connects everything together, and maybe editor discretion is warranted rather than using a "rules-are-rules" approach. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:13, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: No objection. Harsh Rathod 02:05, 16 March 2018 (UTC)

Phase (a) has been completed, during which active contributors were awarded laptops and internet stipends. Phase (b) will be a contest in which editors will come together and develop a writing contest focused on content gaps. Each month three individual prizes will be awarded to each community based on their contribution for the month. The prizes worth 3,000 INR, 2000 INR, and 1,000 INR, will be awarded to the top contributors for each month. The contest started at March 1, 2018, 0:00, and will end at May 31, 2018, 23:59 (IST). Redirects
[edit]Harsh Rathod, I am not sure what you meant by saying you couldn't understand the redirect help page. I'll try to make it simpler, though. To create a redirect, you need to know two things: the correct name of the page you want to redirect the reader to and that there isn't a page that already has the same name you want to redirect from. Let's use the following examples:
- intended destination (the page you want to redirect the user to): Foobar
- intended redirect (the page you want to redirect the user from): Foo bar
Note: neither of these are real links.
This is what you need to do:
- 1. Search for "Foo bar" in the search box
- You should get a search results page that says this at the top: You may create the page "Foo bar", but consider checking the search results below to see whether the topic is already covered. There will be search results below, hopefully including "Foobar"
- 2. Click the red link for "Foo bar"
- You will see a page that titled "Creating Foo bar" with the standard page creation warnings/help and edit box.
- 3. Type this: #REDIRECT Foobar
- 4. Type "Created as a redirect to Foobar" in the "Edit summary" box
- 5. Click the "Publish changes" button
Congratulations, you've created the redirect. Simple. I hope this helps. Eggishorn (talk) (contrib) 15:44, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Eggishorn: I was in confusion of weather to add this chunk of code:
#REDIRECT Target
at the top of existing page or to create new page wih it. Thanks, for the help. Keep up this good work becuase it will never end. Harsh Rathod 16:04, 23 March 2018 (UTC)

ANI
[edit]Hi, Me & Primefac edit conflicted on the closure so I'll say my peace here:
WBoG said and I quote "*Why the fuck, an encyclopedia cares, who the director dedicated the film to, unless that has been covered by other reliable-media and/or has some special significance?! We aren't a storehouse of useless trivia or a data-dump?" - Saying fuck in this context is not nor will it ever be actionable - If they said "Fuck off" or worse then under certain circumstances that could be actionable .... but saying it as "Why the fuck" is not,
It's no different to them saying "What the fuck" or "How the fuck" .... get what I mean ? ....
I would strongly suggest you resolve whatever issues you have with said editor or failing that move on and contribute to the 5 million articles we have,
Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 16:01, 29 March 2018 (UTC)

You're more than welcome to ignore my advice but you'd do well to read it, understand it and follow it, You say you've been here for three years yet you act like you've been here 2 days tops ..... You can either work with us or against us but again just some advice the latter will without a doubt see you blocked, Your choice. –Davey2010Talk 18:50, 29 March 2018 (UTC)
@Davey2010: The discussion is clossed there. Moreover, you came to my talk page out of nowhere giving advices. Even Primefac is not interfering. At least first get thorough knowledge of the subject and then I will more than consider your advice. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 03:09, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Because that is how this place works. It is community run. The community decides article content, not the administrators. The community decides behavioral standards, not the administrators. The community doesn't give a fuck if you say fuck. "Fuck you" is a slightly different animal. From your comments on the talk page in question, it appears the things I've mentioned above are certainly not the only things you do not understand about Wikipedia. This isn't a fansite. If you cannot figure why a producer of a film's website might not be the best source for factual information about a film, you probably should get a blog and leave the creation of encyclopedia articles to those who do. [edit]Your recent editing history at Printed Rainbow shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
Notifying you, since, a warning is mandated by policy. As, I said, the next revert will result in a trip to WP:3RRN. ~ Winged BladesGodric 09:15, 30 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi User:Harshrathod50, just to let you know that since a user has requested that you no longer post to their talk page—as per WP:OWNTALK they were entitled to do—your edit has been refactored. - Hi Harshrathod50, yes it's "your" talk page so you can remove (almost but not quite) anything you like per the same guidelines. Re. edit-warring, it's not a purely numbers-based mathematical exercise, it's an assessment of the spirit of the reverts: if someone is defending their edits with blind reverts and no discussion, then that is the spirit of edit-warring and the numbers become of less relevance. I think it's that that you should be considering. Incidentally, when one has three years' tenure and over 1,000 edits one need no longer describe oneself as a noob, for the purposes of WP:BITE. Happy editing! —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap shit room 10:57, 30 March 2018 (UTC)

The Accidental Prime Minister (film)
[edit]In your user page you wonder why Anupam Kher is playing that loser prime minister? The answer is simple... Anupam Kher is a legendary actor and the role of a loser dummy puppet(and possibly corrupt) prime minister must be challenging i guess.. and anupam kher is the most versatile actor in currently active lot i guess(yes, of course with Naseeruddin Shah)... I AM not sure whether you have seen his lesser known films like Saaransh and Daddy (1989 film), but he received much acclaim for his work in these films though these roles were offered to others and they rejected them but Kher performed them with brilliance.. whether its a funny type villain in ChaalBaaz or a supporting cum funny cum serious role of Lamhe you can see him taking these characters from imagination to liveliness.. I Am sure he will do the same to the character of maun mohan singh too.. looking forward to this movie too.. cheers --Adamstraw99 (talk) 18:49, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

You are at 3 reverts on this page and have multiple editors disagreeing with you. You need to discuss this on the article talk page before making any further reverts. I will open a discussion on the article talk page. Ravensfire (talk) 14:15, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Ravensfire: Thanks, for this meaning less warning! It is you who is at fault here as I had mentioned in my first edit to the Pizza (2012 film) page that anybody having problem then come to my talk page; we'll discuss the matter. I didn't make more than two reverts. For the blackmail film page, I need a detailed explanation addressing how ubl is of use there. There is no explanation for accessibility on the Template:Infobox film page. It is you people that I learnt how to argue, now face it. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:40, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Sorry, but you can't dictate terms like that. Edits can and will get reverted and often the edit summary is the explanation. At that point, you should start the discussion on why it was reverted. Generally, for article edits discussions should happen on the ARTICLE talk page, not the the user talk page for enhanced visibility. So please discuss the article issues there. Ravensfire (talk) 14:43, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Ravensfire: The main problem is that you are undoing many of my good faith edits on the Pizza (2012 film) page. If you still want ubl there then let me revert one more time and make some more tweaks. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:48, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
Appreciated. On why did I revert all of your changes, the change basically looked like just a formatting change for no real reason. I'm personally not a fan of using crore on the film articles as readers not familiar with South Asian numbering systems will have no clue what that means, while everyone understands millions/billions. I also won't revert your change on that as I note that it's often used, especially on newer articles. There's a note in MOS:INDIA about how best to handle those, but unless a film article is going for FA status, it's not something I've got the desire to push. Generally though, it's good to stick with an existing style in an article so long as it meets the MOS. Ravensfire (talk) 15:20, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

What was the point of this?
[edit]Re: this edit, what was the point? Didn't we discuss this? Weren't you ultimately convinced that the primary topic of language is the language? Should I expect that other discussions where you ultimately understood community preferences are going to be slowly reverted over time? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:38, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: No, don't take it wrong. I was just about write at your talk page. I was rethinking about this. My logic is that we had already linked Hindi in the infobox then why not link respective cinema in the lead? What do you think? 🤔 Harsh Rathod Poke me! 03:08, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
By that logic, if we link to a director in the infobox, should we link to another topic in the lead off of the director's name? No, the infobox exists to summarise content found elsewhere in the article. If it duplicates content found in the lead, that's expected, just as it's expected that the lead will duplicate content found elsewhere in the article. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:30, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: But still the text "Hindi" appears on both the links. Why not link both of them like this: Hindi? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 03:37, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: I agree with the infobox exists to summarise content found elsewhere in the article. If it duplicates content found in the lead, that's expected, just as it's expected that the lead will duplicate content found elsewhere in the article. You are saying this on the basis of American film articles that you had read. The content in the lead of those articles can also be found in other sections. But after reading many many [Indian film articles] I had found that this is not the case with [them]. I can't find anything written in the lead in the other sections of the [there]. Don't you agree? Exception: Featured articles. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 06:54, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
I don't know what argument you're trying to set up. That since many Indian articles may not be consistent with community standards, we should have separate rules for linking the word Hindi? Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:09, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: Most of the times people just don't get what I'm trying to say. To put it simple, since you don't like this change, I'm dropping this idea. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 13:36, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
Chun-Li
[edit]Hi. Per your edits on Chun-Li (song), we don't italicize song titles, we only do that to an album. It's also not "redundant to use 'song' in the land type 'single' in the infobox", a single is a song after all. You also can't record a single, you record a song. Thanks. Hayman30 (talk) 15:13, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Hayman30: I was desperately waiting for someone to interfere. Please provide me with discussion which mentiones that song titles aren't italicized. Or else your edits will be undone. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 03:09, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
Are you threatening me right now? There's no such discussion—that's how things are. Hayman30 (talk) 05:04, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Hayman30: No, I'm not threatening you in any way. You say that's how things are. What makes you think WP works this way? That way you are doing nothing but pushing your own preferences. You need community consensus to do that. You are an experienced editor. So start the discussion in the talk page right away. Also you saying that one can't record a single is an absolute wrong statement because a single is a song which can be recorded. If you think I'm still wrong then please summon more editors here to make me understand. I too want to edit in the constructive manner. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 05:24, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- Lol you are the one who's "pushing your own preferences". Just go find a random song article and see if the title is italicized or not. You should be the one to start a talk page discussion because you're the one who's seeking for a change. Hayman30 (talk) 05:32, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) Best place to look for the answer is MOS:NOITALIC. Ravensfire (talk) 13:27, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Ravensfire: Thanks! You saved me from another head pain of starting a discussion. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 13:32, 29 April 2018 (UTC)
Status quo
[edit]Hi. Please note that if there is a disagreement on certain content, it is never wise to just forcefully push your edit back into the article over and over again, as it might spark or already appear as an edit war. In such scenarios, WP:STATUSQUO tells us to reset the part affected by the dispute before it actually happened (the ubl was introduced by you in this edit). Because of this, please just undo the change and discuss if really necesarry. Also, you shouldn't say that my edit is invalid because I based my edit on personal preference and then go on to present your personal preference as justification for your changes, that's just illogical. There is no concrete guideline on how and when to use template redirects, but retaining the version prior to the dispute is an age-old tradition-made-guideline. Lordtobi (✉) 17:49, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- This is explicit nonsense. Concising is not personal preference. As you can see there, one editor edited my revision to concise it. I asked you to be more specific with your reasons, but you came up here with policies. I could have wrote the same thing to your talk page, too. Please gain consensus for your preference, first. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 18:09, 2 May 2018 (UTC)
- Other editor doing something else is just WP:OTHERSTUFF and not clear-cut consensus to perform the change everywhere, especially not when it is challenged (in this very case, Rhain fixed grammatical flow; the edit is not in the farthest related what we are fighting about). If you really want to discuss this, go ahead, but do not just revert back given prior guidelines. Lordtobi (✉) 05:21, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Lordtobi (✉) 09:18, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Lordtobi: It is just you who got problems, so you do that. Those edits are not at all disruptive. This is nonsense. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 09:23, 3 May 2018 (UTC)
- It is your burden to prove why your edit is viable through discussing it with others, if you are reverted, you are to either stop redoing it or start discussing it. Reverting the reversion of your edits and such breaking WP:STATUSQUO, WP:EW (as pointed out numerous times), and then challenging the reverter to go about why your edit should not stay is illogical and not good behaviour for an encyclopedic project. Neither version is "wrong" but you have to either discuss the inclusion of your change on the article's talk page, if you are really bothered by those few more characters in the infobox, or drop the stick. Lordtobi (✉) 09:26, 3 May 2018 (UTC)

Copy-and-paste moves, disambiguation pages
[edit]Hi and thank you for your contributions. Just a few comments regarding your edits at Nagaraj. First of all, please don't use cut and paste to move the contents of entire pages, as this breaks up the page history, please use the "Move" function instead (see Help:How to move a page). Now, the new title Nagraj (disambiguation) isn't optimal, as the spelling variant used doesn't appear to be the most common one: it's usually best to have an article title using the most common spelling.
Also, there is a distinction between a disambiguation page and an article about a personal name (see the last paragraph of MOS:DABNAME). There's no rush to create articles about names, but once such an article exists, there's no reason to convert it back into a disambiguation page. A separate disambiguation page can be created if it's needed, but I'm not sure I see the need in this particular case: the various articles can be easily linked using hatnotes. Thanks! – Uanfala (talk) 19:27, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi there, re: this discussion, if you're going to write prose content like this, I really think you should brush up on how to write summaries and how to properly format quotations. I don't mean that as an insult, but there are certain writing skills that editors need fundamental mastery of if they hope to bring encyclopedia articles up to par, and it's not equitable that the burden of education should shift to other editors. This video might be helpful. One thing to keep in mind, is that if you, the person summarising, can say something better or clearer than the person who's speaking, then you should. If we need to express a person's opinion and we can't figure out a good way to say "Sircar felt ___", then we should put the opinion back in his mouth. "I felt ___". Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:21, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: The video was very helpful. I appreciate criticisms now. It will take some time for me rewrite the content. Meanwhile, can you please help get the Page Mover flag that I had requested as I need it very badly to disambiguate some files. I'm not listing them here because this page watched and that user might make those changes beforehand. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 18:45, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb and Vivek Ray: The matter had been taken care by Vivek Ray. But the problem is that he broke my previously submitted statement into five parts and the reference is with the last one. It would be more than divine if Mr. Vivek can integrate those parts back to one long statement because it would give any new reader a feel that all the info came from one place. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:50, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- I think it's OK because it has been mentioned that it's from an interview. Also, as a single sentence, it might get too long. In its present state, a reader might read the whole passage and then go to the referred webpage and read some more. What say? Thanks Vivek Ray (talk) 15:00, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- Or, maybe the reference can be moved up? Vivek Ray (talk) 15:02, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: Yes, since you suggested it you can do that. I also thought about it at some point. Also, you don't need ping me if you are writing to my talk page. No need to ping the person whose talk page you are writing to because he will be notified even without that. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 15:07, 23 May 2018 (UTC)

- @Vivek Ray: I appreciate your views. Please give me some time to make it look good. I know that the current form is breaking mobile web compatibility, but I'm working to resolve it and if I could not then I will remove it. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:30, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
That's what I was thinking. Maybe it can be shifted to one side. I am not sure about this but Template:Align might help. Thanks Vivek Ray (talk) 10:33, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: I was working with
<div>...</div>
. It can be a great help here. But the problem is that I forgot I all the CSS styling properties that I had learnt three years ago. This is becoming such a pain in head. Align will do nothing but just align the graph on right but the problem is I want add many styles at once. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:40, 30 May 2018 (UTC) - @Vivek Ray: Okay done! Now it is looking okay. You can tweak it further if you want to. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:48, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
Yes, saw that. But I think there is no need for the graph. What you have written in the paragraph explains it already. What do you think? Vivek Ray (talk) 11:53, 30 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: Yes, you are right, even Cyphoidbomb says so, but it is needed there simply because not everyone reads everything that had been written to this page. We are already occupied with the information here since the very beginning so there will be no problems for us to understand but since not everyone is a bibliomaniac (with exception of Wikipedians), the graph is doing more than good to summarise the "Box office" section prose to an illustration which is digestible to general public in the blink of an eye. What do you think? A recent incident: I asked my cousin to read this page but all she was read a few words in the infobox, watch the images, scrolled down to bottom and said it is nice! She didn't even read the lead section completely! Diversity is mother of Jesus. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:32, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
Hahaha... Well, can't blame her! It really does look nice. And, after the tweaks done by Cyphoidbomb and you, it looks even better. Let's see what other editors have to say. Vivek Ray (talk) 12:37, 31 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: Request: Can you bring some useful info from other sections to another para in the lead? I'm not doing this because of lack of quality English. Just like Raman Raghav 2.0 which was recently GAed. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 04:14, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
Yup, I will try! Thanks Vivek Ray (talk) 04:24, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
Did some editing. Please have a look. You want to add something? Vivek Ray (talk) 05:52, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: Thankyou! Now, I'm waiting for someone to review this page. I hope it it becomes a GA soon. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 08:05, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
Umm, I think it might be hard to get a GA rating. The article needs to be developed further to get GA. Maybe it will get a C or even a B in its present state. But we can always hope for a GA rating! Vivek Ray (talk) 10:57, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: Please list the items that this article lacks so that we can improve it. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 11:55, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
As of now, 'Production' and 'Controversy' need to be worked on. 'Themes' may be introduced as I saw it mentioned in some of the sources. Additionally, 'Audience response' can be added if some RS is found to back it. You have anything else in your mind? Thanks Vivek Ray (talk) 12:14, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: Yes, the controversy section needs reworking because I didn't summarise all the information well enough. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:24, 4 June 2018 (UTC)
Veere Di Wedding edit war
[edit]June 2018
[edit]Your recent editing history at Veere Di Wedding shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war.
October soundtrack
[edit]I saw you have created another article and it is facing notability issues. These links might help. I am too sleepy right now to work on it! If you are up, you can use them. [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] I haven't checked which of these links are already cited in the article. Vivek Ray (talk) 19:12, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
- @Vivek Ray: I will integrate these links soon after I construct some proper prose. I was watching Leatherface (2017 film) and it happened to be midnight by the time it finished. If I am late then you can do that. Thankyou! Harsh Rathod Poke me! 20:03, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
- Done I have integrated all those links you mentioned above in the article. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 09:53, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for that barnstar! But I don't know if I deserve it or not because of what I am going to say next.😂 To be honest, I feel the content of October (soundtrack) can be merged with the original article as it not that big in size. This might help the film article during its review. On the personal level, as I am a lazy reader, I want all the information to be present on the same page if it is not getting too bulky! Vivek Ray (talk) 10:15, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Let us wait until the Fall of 2018 because until then all the music award ceremonies will be concluded and we can add here if any awards go to this soundtracks lap. There are more good things coming for it, I believe. Actually, it is more good if this soundtrack has a separate page. This way, the film's article is going more broader in its coverage. Separate pages don't matter. What do you think? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 10:23, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Well, those were only my personal opinions as a reader and not as an editor. Also, I don't know much about splitting pages. Have to look into that. But since you have mentioned awards, I would like to add that I find accolades section of Rockstar (2011 film) and Rockstar (soundtrack) really weird. Like, how will you decide which award should belong to which page? The main article doesn't list all the awards won. The article about soundtrack has most of them. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara handles is quite well by having a different article about its accolades. I was thinking of doing the same thing for Rockstar but I have no idea who might get offended by that. I am keeping Wikipedia:Be bold on hold as of now. Already faced some unexpected criticism! (OK I digressed a bit I guess!) Vivek Ray (talk) 10:42, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Every article here is incomplete but at most we can do is take them 1 step ahead towards completeness. They will never be complete even then. But I tried my best for October's soundtrack album article sound authentic, well maintained and original. But it can never be compared to Camila (album). It is so much fun to read such articles. They are endless. But when I was reading Raavan (soundtrack) I felt very bad. It has got so many flaws. For now, all I'm doing is stick to the articles that I'm attached with and maintain them. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 11:03, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
Most of the films composed by A. R. Rahman have a separate soundtrack article because of the coverage it gets. Also, Rahman Sir (yup, a fan of his!) releases the album credits which makes it easier to name the personnel attached to the project — giving more content. Anyways, heads up for my views on Veere Di Wedding situation. About to post it. And, you may not like it! Vivek Ray (talk) 11:45, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Vivek Ray is correct in his opinion of the album not needing a seperate article, Please see more on Wikipedia:Splitting. You can carry on your good work on this album article but at the end of the 7 day period, this album article will most likely be merged with the film article. The article WP:MERGE cannot wait until END of 2018 as wiki is all about present and past. We here do not speculate Future WP:CRYSTAL if in future the album becomes notable enough it will be forked out into a new article, but as of now, there is strong support to merge it. my 2 cents. --DBigXray 12:22, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- @DBigXray: Seeing its current state, you are in no standing to merge it. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 12:48, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- @DBigXray: Keeping merging aside, can you tell me is the article notable/referenced enough to remove the notability tag? Because, the maintenance tag says "Please help to establish notability by citing reliable secondary sources that are independent of the topic and provide significant coverage of it beyond its mere trivial mention." I think it has been achieved. Thanks Vivek Ray (talk) 13:01, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

Template:Shantanu Moitra
[edit]Hi, I am a bit confused between the 'Scores' and 'Soundtrack'. 'Score' is regarding background score, right? And can you explain 'Soundtrack'? Is it about songs? Moitra has composed songs for many films by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. So, only one entry is a bit confusing. Thanks Vivek Ray (talk) 12:17, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
- Please take a look are things okay now? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 12:23, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
Ah, it's better now. And about 'Soundtrack', why only October? Thanks. Vivek Ray (talk) 12:26, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
- That is because it is the only entry in that field. If you can make a page 3 Idiot (soundtrack) then add it there. Simple. Also that Shantanu Moitra page needs to be updated. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 12:30, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
Does it really need a separate soundtrack page to be added in the template? I didn't know that. I thought it can link to the parent articles too. Vivek Ray (talk) 12:33, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
- Done The rest of the films have no section for music or as such. Thanks for your input and pointing our mistakes in the template. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 12:39, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello Harshrathod50. In this post at WP:AN3 you seem to be asking for a self-requested block. Is that correct? Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 17:32, 21 June 2018 (UTC) (watching):*Comment - Harsh, this can be avoided... You are mainly contributing in Indian film/music related articles and except for the outbursts you throw at other editors while communicating, you are doing a good job, If you are ok with the worst i.e. a block then before that, you should pledge to take a voluntary break from editing, commit the same in ANI thread and come back after a week or something so that you can view the situation objectively... i think you don't deserve a block --Adamstraw99 (talk) 18:50, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- At WP:AN3 I've proposed you should be blocked for one week. There may still be time for you to respond. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 21:55, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
Harsh, it's good to see you cooling down a bit At WP:AN3 and I would suggest you clearly state your understanding of the problem there... this way you will avoid the block and community will not lose a valuable contributor.... Also, FYI, A block on your profile record might become an obstacle for you if you aspire to become an Admin in future.. -- Adamstraw99 (talk) 17:57, 22 June 2018 (UTC)
- I don't think now I can become an admin after all this. Ultimate, everything happens for good. Thankyou for standing by my side. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 12:34, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- Against my own judgment I've closed the AN3 complaint with no action, since others opposed giving you a sanction. I hope you will pay attention to the comments that several people made. There was a suggestion that you voluntarily follow a 2RR rule (i.e. you would stop after two reverts on any article), and that sounds like good advice. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 16:26, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
@EdJohnston: Since I didn't violate the use of rollbacker flag, can I have it again? It makes reverting pure vandalism easy-peasy work. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 16:38, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- I'd prefer if you would ask at WP:PERM/R. That would allow others to comment. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 16:43, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- Harashrathod50, please consider undoing your last comment on the AN3 report. It might tend to cancel out any goodwill you obtained recently, since it suggests you really have no idea what the problem is with your edits. EdJohnston (talk) 19:34, 23 June 2018 (UTC)

Wrong editing in Genius movies infobox
[edit]Dear user, I'm noticing that you are constantly inputting wrong data in Genius (2018 film)'s music by option. Although I've corrected your mistake earlier, you have redone it again. Didn't I already mention that it is Template:Infobox film/doc instructions that I'm following. Let me quote: Insert the name(s) of the composer(s) of the original music score. If you still got problems than incude Himesh and Monty both but list Monty first since the infobox is for film and not it's soundtrack album. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 07:07, 17 August 2018 (UTC)

The article Untitled Indian-Marvel film has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
WP:CRYSTAL - the sources seem consistent in noting If Marvel make movies in India.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Cabayi (talk) 13:26, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Cabayi: I was aware of this fate when I submitted this article. Will the crystal clear policy be satisfied if we change the topic name to "Unexisting Indian-Marvel film" without creating a redirect? This way everything will be crystal clear. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 16:58, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
WP:CRYSTAL isn't about things being crystal clear, it's about predicting things in the future (as with a crystal ball) which may, or may not, happen. The quote that crops up in the sources is If Marvel make a film in India, not When Marvel make a film in India. It seems quite probable Wacker was just giving an audience-pleasing answer rather than a factual promise. If you read the Indian Express article closely, "If Marvel plans to make content in India, is there a chance of them collaborating with popular Indian actors? To this, Stephen laughed and said, “If we make Indian content, we have to put Shah Rukh Khan. He has to be in it.” On a serious note, Stephen further said"...
- If - implies it may not happen.
- Laughed and said, and On a serious note - implies his answer wasn't to be taken seriously.
Hope that helps, Cabayi (talk) 18:20, 15 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Cabayi: Okay then if it is not clear now then it will be clear in future. I'm draftifying this page. Why delete it? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 19:17, 15 September 2018 (UTC)

[edit]In this edit, you claimed that you fixed grammar and code. You only added a exclamation mark at the end of "Winner winner chicken dinner" for PUBG, which was neither a grammar nor code fix. Also in case you don't know, accessdate, dealurl and archivedate are valid parameters for cite web
. Can you further elaborate this? Let me know if you disagree. Regards —AE (talk • contributions) 13:52, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- I played the game and upon winning it says: "WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!". I found the absence of exclamation mark here to be unrealistic and I added it to reflect reality. Isn't fixing statements always under the scope of grammar? I think "access-date" is more compatible with grammar than "accessdate" though both of them may be parameters of Cite web. Please say what is it that you find wrong here? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:40, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

Consider Talk Page Archive
[edit]Hi Harsh, I see that your editing in wikipedia is getting recognition and you are being requested to work on certain articles... I am happy to see your success but as people get more experienced here, talk page discussion naturally increase and I think you tend to delete these conversations after reading/responding... If you don't mind I would like to suggest you start using talk page Archive... more details here -- thanks --Adamstraw99 (talk) 13:01, 1 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Adamstraw99: "delete" conversations? That should be "archive" :) —AE (talk • contributions) 13:03, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

Don't see it, but MOS:COMMONALITY says "ten million is preferable to one crore", which is why it has been that way. Bollyjeff | talk 21:46, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
- @Bollyjeff: Okay, okay, you win. Enjoy with your edit. Now I'm sure you didn't search properly enough. I remember one editor was so against such practice and I asked him why but he didn't explain. I live in India and I'm 100% sure crore is in more practice here than the million-billion thing. They always talk in crore. For instance take the news channels. The headlines reads: (1) "Lalu Prasad Yadav caused about 200 crore loss Chara Ghotala". (2) "Aashiqui 2 is now incuded in the 100 crore club. The WP policies are the most general practices. Disambiguation pages
[edit]Hello, Harshrathod50. When you changed Multiplayer into a disambiguation page, you may not have been aware of WP:FIXDABLINKS, which says:
- When creating disambiguation pages, fix all resulting mis-directed links.
- Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, to move an existing disambiguation page to that name, or to redirect that name to a disambiguation page), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.
It would be a great help if you would check the other Wikipedia articles that contain links to "Multiplayer" and fix them to take readers to the correct article. Thanks. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 22:02, 29 October 2018 (UTC)
- @R'n'B: Understood. I'll fix everything soon and take care the next time I do anything as such. Enjoy! Harsh Rathod Poke me! 02:35, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
AWB run to pipe links
[edit]Why are you using AWB to pipe links? Links to Multiplayer are not broken. AWB rules 2 and 4 are against use like this. This run just makes massive watch list clutter without making any actual change to the article's appearance or function. -- ferret (talk) 13:54, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Read this and the discussion exactly above this one. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:00, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
As your edit there has been reverted, it's become "controversial" so you need to stop and get a consensus. I recommend starting at WT:VG. The usage of this page is so wide spread you should have sought consensus from the start. -- ferret (talk) 14:01, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- You are getting things wrong. My edit was reverted temporarily so that I can move the links to "Multiplayer" to "Multiplayer video game". When did this consensus thing get in? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:09, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Your edit was reverted twice, first on WP:PTM grounds, and the second time the reason was to restore the redirect to primary topic (Essentially the same thing). Neither of those editors left you a talk message, but they were contesting your change for reason other than the fact you had not adjusted links yet. WP:BRD is a fine thing, be bold, but once you've been reverted (twice) you need to stop and gather a consensus. Either way, I'm telling you this needs consensus and to work with the project as it has far reaching impact on how editors in this space edit. -- ferret (talk) 14:11, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Consider this also a warning: If you continue the AWB run I will issue a block. -- ferret (talk) 14:14, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
The article was reverted back into a redirect. Hayholt (talk) 14:15, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oh god, no, no, NO, NO. Just 600 pages were left. The PTM accusation was ruled out. I was about to finish this work. Oh god, why? Now so much time will be wasted in the useless consensus discussion when it is not even required in the first place. 14:24, 30 October 2018 (UTC)Harsh Rathod Poke me!
It's required the moment someone voiced opposition, which thel33tgamer did with his revert, and which I have clearly done here. To be honest you're lucky I didn't decide to do a mass rollback. -- ferret (talk) 14:30, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
@Rankiri:@Onel5969: I summoned you here to know whether you approve my actions taken here. You undone my conversion of "Multiplayer" into a dab but also redone it stating that it was not a PTM. But R'n'B said there were so many pages linked to "Multiplayer" soyouthe1337gamer undone again. So I went on to change links to "Multiplayer" to "Multiplayer video game" using AWB. When nothing will link to "Multiplayer" it should to be okay to change it into a dab again. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:37, 30 October 2018 (UTC)- It should be Onel5969. Please read carefully. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 14:41, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oops, thanks for the correction, sir. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:49, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Hi. When I responded on the Teahouse, I was simply looking at it from the angle of the question you posed there. I missed the primary target argument, which is very cogent. Whenever a redirect is changed into a dab, if it is contested, consensus needs to be reached. And when (and I'm taking the word of other editors here) there is such a large number of articles which use the redirect, a lot of thought needs to go into making that change. My revert, which then caused the new dab to have been reviewed, has caused everyone quite a bit of work, and they have my apologies. In looking at it from an overall perspective now, I think The1337gamer has a very valid concern. Onel5969 TT me 15:09, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Oops, thanks for the correction, sir. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 14:49, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Are you stating here that you're going to ignore my objections and not engage the project most impacted by this change? Rankiri didn't undo your change, they last edited the redirect in 2008. @Onel5969: reverted and self-reverted for PTM, but @The1337gamer: reverted on primary topic grounds. Even if you change every link, that doesn't mean you have a clear go ahead to change the redirect, because opposition has been voiced. This redirect is constantly used by editors, as the 3000+ uses indicated, and changing it without notification or discussion is disruptive. -- ferret (talk) 14:43, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict × 2) Harshrathod50: Let me make things more clear here. Per WP:NOTBROKEN, editors should not “fix” a redirect to an article (e.g. you should not change
Donald J. Trump
toDonald J. Trump
). It’s unnecessary and unhelpful at all, thus abiding a guideline (AWB rule 2) and having no noticeable effect on the article (AWB rule 4). Please be mindful. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 14:51, 30 October 2018 (UTC) - PS this is for the AWB run part. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 14:54, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- It should be Onel5969. Please read carefully. ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 14:41, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Mr./Miss Farret, let's be more rational. What is it that is exactly being affected? What I see is that all you are doing is exaggerating the fact that the page was linked to 3000+ pages. Yes, it was, so what? How exactly did my changes affect the project? I know that I was constructive in my approach which was that I orphan "Multiplayer" and covert it into a dab with the supporting statement that nothing linked here. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 15:26, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- The reason the redirect is (was) used over 3000 times is because editors regularly use it. Changing the redirect without discussion will cause dablink errors as users continue to use the redirect expecting it to be a redirect. The links were not from some distant past, this is a redirect under active usage. I cannot help it if you are unable to understand the impact, and your refusal to reach out to the project is telling. If you continue trying to make this edit without opening a discussion with the project, I will simply temporarily block you and remove your AWB access. You've been told where to go from here so I'm done on the topic. -- ferret (talk) 15:48, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Okay, I'll write to talk page of wikiproject video games tomorrow but how long the discussion should last? I'll try my best to prove you wrong and if I'm destined to lose then I'll definitely. Democracy. One's power and position does not decide one will be always correct. Enjoy! Harsh Rathod Poke me! 16:01, 30 October 2018 (UTC) Discussions of this nature typically run at least a week, or longer if there's still active discussion on the topic. It's not being right or wrong, it's about making sure the impacted project is in agreement and impact is minimized, such as ensuring none of our templates or modules or other scripts that participants use will create issues. If you're looking at it in terms of proving other editors wrong, your attitude is in the wrong place. -- ferret (talk) 16:25, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Your taunt fired me up. Will it be okay with I continue my work on the remaining pages along with making other constructive changes in them at the same time. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 17:28, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- No, it's not ok to continue using AWB for these changes. Making changes of this nature against MOS (WP:NOTBROKEN) with AWB is a violation of AWB's rules (Rule 2), as is continuing a controversial edit, as this redirect being changed is contested (Rule 3). -- ferret (talk) 17:48, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Multiplayer should be not have been made into a disambiguation page. It's very clear that Multiplayer video game is the primary meaning of the term. Any English dictionary will support this. By all means, create Multiplayer (disambiguation) but don't go ahead remove a widely used redirect by creating a largely useless disambiguation page. --The1337gamer (talk) 17:47, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I will create it once I lose the discussion on WikiProject VG talk. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 17:52, 30 October 2018 (UTC) @The1337gamer: Hey, why did you stop? Keep on reverting. It feels awesome to see my efforts wasted. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 18:00, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- Inappropriately running an automated tool to make useless changes is "effort"? --The1337gamer (talk) 18:02, 30 October 2018 (UTC)
- This is why we have WP:AWBRULES. The edits should have never taken place without discussion because they violate WP:PTM, WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and WP:NOTBROKEN, and the sheer volume of the redirect should have indicated to you that you should discuss or expect conflict. TarkusABtalk 18:20, 30 October 2018 (UTC)

- Please stay. Ferret is only trying to improve the Wikipedia, so do me and you! That's the reason why we are here. And if you are here, you should obey the rules here. Similarly, if you go to a country, you must obey the law there. If you made a mistake, just acknowledge it and work it out. You need not to fear about threats of a block, because if you aren't being so disruptive, a block will always be counterproductive, and the only way to avoid it is to be open-minded - accept different opinions or suggestions from the regulars, and to put them into practice. We are trying to help you to become a better person.
- I hope you can reconsider. Looking forward to receiving your reply. Best regards, ―Abelmoschus Esculentus 13:30, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- To be honest, I think you are a great editor. Although the multiplayer could have been kept, I think it was uneeded to revert all the changes. I generally dislike reditects, but some cases, they are needed. This instance isn't one. Please stay. Hayholt (talk) 13:36, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
- Not to be rude or insensitivity, but you are retiring from Wikipedia over a small WP:NOPIPE controversy? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 17:54, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
I'm back. I guess I can't live without sharing my knowledge here. Now I understand why AWB is not fully automated. I made it fully automated by using an autoclicker program what made clicks to SAVE button every three seconds. I promise I will never do that again. Harsh Rathod Poke me! 03:03, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- All other controversy aside, this is unexcusable. I've removed your AWB access. You need more experience and respect for consensus building. -- ferret (talk) 03:16, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
Mr./Miss @Ferret: Can I have this privilege back if I constructively edit those 3000 pages in the course of time? I'm still forgivable, yes? Harsh Rathod Poke me! 02:54, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- There's certainly the possibility of getting it back in the future, but I would want to see that you're willing to engage other editors and projects in consensus building first. Besides the AWBRULES violations here, you demonstrated a strong opposition to the fact that other editors were asking you to stop. AWB usage needs to be uncontroversial, i.e. if there's any chance someone is going to oppose, discuss it first and get a consensus to proceed. Certainly any redirect with more than a 1000 uses (And probably as few as 50) is going to fall into that. And AWB is definitely not necessary to be constructive. I have 45,000 edits and have never used AWB. Go forth and edit and build up a solid reputation. -- ferret (talk) 02:59, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

Question that I hope you don't mind answering.
[edit]I have been having trouble trying to get a "fancy looking username" like yours. I would love to use the same style and colors as yours; the page I followed to do so for some reason didn't work (when I did it on the page I was instructed to do it on) but counted as my "first edit". How did you get your username fancy? Do you have to apply a specific code each time (besides the four "~") when you want to sign your post?
I'm sorry if this is an inconvenience to you; it's just that I noticed you in the Teahouse and decided to contact you since you had a username signature that I would like to have (or something similar).
