Review for "Dickinson Bay (Texas)" page additions[edit]

Hi Hgrove - good job editing the page on Dickinson Bay in Texas! You've made some great improvements to this page. What follows is a review by an external reviewer who based their comments on the version of your page that's available at this link.

Reviewer comments:[edit]

Lead section[edit]

This description is a concise and appropriate description of Dickinson Bay.

Body of the article[edit]

Etymology and History:

  • “Based on this history and relationship to the "first 300", it can be assumed that John Dickinson came from an affluent status and is of British ancestry.”
    • More factual information should be provided for this sentence or it should be removed.

Flora and Fauna:

  • “Palustrine” should be defined or a link to the definition provided.

Geography:

  • “Additionally, there is also palustrine emergent wetlands found in the Dickinson bay which is characterized by grassy vegetation including Marsh-hay cordgrass, arrowheads or square- stem spike rush.”
    • Should “palustrine” be capitalized as it is in the previous sentences?
    • Also, a comma is needed before ‘which’.
  • ““There are also estuarine wetlands that are found in the area which are “brackish to saline systems which are affected by tidal influences and salinity regimes.””
    • A reference is needed for this definition in quotations.
  • “The Dickinson Bay is found in Dickinson, Texas which is a relatively hot climate in the United States. From May until October the heat can range from 83 to 91 whereas December through February the temperature does not drop below 60 degrees, on average.”
    • Add degrees Fahrenheit to underlined numbers. Would also be useful for those outside the United States to provide the temperature in degrees Celsius.

Tourism and Recreation:

  • “Additionally to fishing, a visitor will find that there are multiple trails for kayakers or canoers to take from canals that lead from the Dickinson Bayou.”
    • Remove first three words, and begin the sentence instead with “In addition,”

Gallery/Images:

  • It would be nice to provide an image of Dickinson Bay if possible.

References:

  • References are legitimate and necessary information provided.

I hope the above is helpful as you wrap up your edits on your Wikipedia page! If you have any questions about this review, please let me know and I'll help you contact the reviewer. JoGDelta (talk) 05:59, 30 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
