Thanks.

{{helpme}} Question 1: I added a page for Cyril Cleverdon. Since I am not allowed to upload images, I've put Cleverdon's photo here: http://wwwhome.cs.utwente.nl/~hiemstra/images/CyrilCleverdon.jpg Can someone please add his photo? Thanks.

Question 2: The page Information Retrieval contains a link to Cyril W. Cleverdon, whereas the page Gerard Salton Award contains Cyril Cleverdon. I chose the latter, but maybe I should have chosen the former? How to resolve these issues?

Hiemstra (talk) 08:09, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Q1: You may upload images once your account has been cleared, usually after you have made at least ten edits and have the account age for a minimum of four days. Since I'm not aware what license(s) the image may belong to, it may be best if you uploaded it yourself once this time period expires.
Q2: You may redirect Cyril W. Cleverdon to the existing Cyril Cleverdon if you wish. Simply create a new article and insert "#REDIRECT [[Cyril Cleverdon]] into the new Cyril W. Cleverdon page and it will automatically redirect in the future.
Feel free to browse my user page for a quick list of Wikipedia policies and guidelines. It is located near the upper right of the page. Or, you may ask further questions on my talk page. Have a great day. - Jameson L. Tai talkguestbookcontribs 09:43, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More information needed about File:StephenERobertson.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:StephenERobertson.jpg. However, it needs some more work before it is okay to use on Wikipedia.

Please click here and do the following:

  1. Add a description of where the image comes from (not what it is) and who the creator is. Please be specific, and include a link if you can.
  2. Find the appropriate license from the list of free, non-free media, or public domain options. Copy the license template and paste it in the file's page, and save.

If you follow these steps, your image can help enhance Wikipedia. If you have any questions, feel free to ask at the media copyright questions page.

Thank you for your contribution! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 15:10, 4 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

More information needed about File:Sig-information-retrieval-logo.png[edit]

Hello, Hiemstra!

It was really helpful of you to you to upload File:Sig-information-retrieval-logo.png. However, we need to properly format the image license information in order to keep and use new images.

If you can edit the description and add one of these templates, that would be great. If you're not sure how or would like some help, please ask us at the media copyright questions page and we'll be happy to assist you.

Thanks again! --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:06, 5 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Nicholas J. Belkin.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Nicholas J. Belkin.jpg, which you've sourced to http://www.asis.org/Bulletin/Oct-10/OctNov10_Levine.html. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 00:19, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:CyrilCleverdon.jpg[edit]

The article Melvin Earl Maron has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Djoerd: I added references.
