Control copyright icon Hello Htystudent! Your additions to Nature Coast Technical High School have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:11, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl (bot). I have automatically detected that this edit performed by you, on the page Wat Mongkolratanaram (Tampa, Florida), may have introduced referencing errors. They are as follows:

  • A "bare URL and missing title" error. References show this error when they do not have a title. Please edit the article to add the appropriate title parameter to the reference. (Fix | Ask for help)

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, Qwerfjkl (bot) (talk) 04:07, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Crocker Cemetery moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Crocker Cemetery. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 01:31, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sources used are primary sources I have referenced from my own research. They were going to be added today. All information is true and accurate. Htystudent (talk) 12:43, 9 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Crocker moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Peter Crocker. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Ae245 (talk) 09:14, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is very little information available about peter crocker, hence the 2 sources. All information is true and accurate. One new source was added and it was submitted for approval. Htystudent (talk) 18:21, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’m confused as to what you mean by “ unexceptional”. It’s as if you haven’t read the article. He was an early pioneer of Sarasota, Florida. Two other wiki pages (Crocker cemetery and Crocker church) reference him as the founder. The cemetery he established still exists and the church he built is on the historical register and owned by the historical society. When citizens of Sarasota go to learn more about their history it is important they have a resource (Wikipedia) to learn about this man and his contributions to the early community. A surplus of information is always better than a lack of it. Htystudent (talk) 18:42, 13 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What I mean is that, like so many of his peers, he was involved in life. This was and is normal. The matter has been rendered moot since the community will now reach a consensus at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Peter Crocker. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:31, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This comment was posted July 13th, two days prior to the article being moved. The point was not moot when it was posted! Hope this helps :) Htystudent (talk) 18:04, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It was my opinion then and I have seen nothing to change my mind when nominating it for deletion.
Arguing with me will not save this article. Finding references which meet the criteria in the decline notice, above, will. Your choice. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:08, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I found a variety of sources that have since been added to the article and even 15 additional sources that mention him to prove notability. Those additional 15 sources were not added to the article because they do not provide any valuable information to the article. They are simply to prove the notability. I'm not sure of how many sources will satisfy your desired criteria. Htystudent (talk) 18:20, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not the volume of sources. It is the content, the quality of the reference.
Mentions do not prove notability. Significant coverage may do so. I have no access to to your most recent references. But, and this is important, I am not judge, nor jury, nor executioner. My only role in this was to judge the article you moved from draft, and propose it for a deletion discussion.
I will give you the firm suggestion that you should consider asking for it to be Draftified, something I am unable to do under the rules. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 18:41, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So, if its deleted I could technically just create the article again and then it be sent to drafts...
Does the volume of sources not prove significant coverage? I read the notability page and copy and pasted the exact meaning (of notability) written on it in my recent source list, so I am unsure how it does not prove notability. Htystudent (talk) 18:48, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Let us assume that you have ten sources, none of which is appropriate to prove notability. That you have ten of these does not prove notability. Ten multiplied by zero is zero, as we know. One reference passing WP:42 beats any number which do not.
Deletion at WP:AFD can be a death sentence if the re-created article is not substantially different from the deleted article. This is done to prevent vandalism driven re-creations. It is wise, therefore, to make any new Draft article substantially different, and to submit it for and to await review. It is important if an article has been deleted by community consensus to wait for acceptance during an iterative review process. You would need to create any new article as a draft.
Better is to start by offering your opinion in the deletion discussion that it be Draftified, which , if consensus agrees, will allow you time and peace and quiet to develop it as you believe it should be developed. State when offering that opinion that you have found sources and wish to develop the draft. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 19:01, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have already laid the ground for you to do this by stating in that discussion that I am not averse to draftification as the outcome. If you request it there then I can almost certainly accede to you request.
Yes, some of our rules are arcane. We all live with them. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 19:11, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have now left it too late to allow me to close the discussion early as a draftification. Others have offered opinions to delete, so I am unable to do so. My advice to you for you to request it was sound. I expect this discussion to run for its full period, and the likely outcome is deletion.
You should take note of what is said in the discussion should you wish to take Peter Crocker further. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 07:27, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you could purchase the subscription to the newspaper database so you can verify the source complies with WP:42. He has whole articles written about him and his family within those papers. Seeing as you can’t even see the sources I cited I don’t know why you think it’s best for this page to be deleted or even drafted. Htystudent (talk) 22:28, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe I could, but I have no desire to spend my money in that way 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 22:35, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then I don't see how you "really care" about wikipedia and the integrity of it. Htystudent (talk) 13:19, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please try very hard indeed to remain civil. When I try hard to help you, you ignore my help. When I reach the limit of the help I wish to provide then you make snide comments.
You have been warned elsewhere about incivility by Dclemens1971. Please do not continue down this path, otherwise the formal warnings for incivility will start, and you will be on the road to losing your editing privileges. So please pull your all too obvious horns in, swallow the smart retorts, and become the collegial editor I do not yet see you to be.
All you have done is to distract editors from the real job, which is improving Wikipedia. We require for Crocker, the church and the cemetery the following:
We require references from significant coverage about the topic of the article, and independent of it, in multiple secondary sources which are WP:RS please. See WP:42. Please also see WP:PRIMARY which details the limited permitted usage of primary sources and WP:SELFPUB which has clear limitations on self published sources. Providing sufficient references, ideally one per fact referred to, that meet these tough criteria is likely to allow this article to remain. Lack of them or an inability to find them is likely to mean that the topic is not suitable for inclusion, certainly today.
Correct references either exist, thus they will exist as articles, or it does not, thus they will not. Whichever it is, Wikipedia is improved. Either it gets one or more correctly references articles passing the relevant notability criteria verified by references, or poorly verified articles are deleted. Each is good.
You started in my view as a somewhat naïve editor here. You are fast becoming one I find distasteful, simply because of your behaviour. Become collegial and that distaste goes away 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 15:59, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Peter Crocker for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Peter Crocker is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Peter Crocker until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 13:28, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I see that this has upset you. A practical approach may be found under WP:HEY. Meanwhile it is counter-productive to seek to bludgeon the deletion discussion. Argue once and argue well, and from a policy based perspective, please. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:18, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Crocker Church moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Crocker Church. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it fails WP:GNG as presented. More work might do the trick. The alternative was to send it to WP:AFD. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:13, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draft was submitted for review with a plethora of secondary, verifiable, reputable, non-affiliated sources. Htystudent (talk) 18:57, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Youtube is deprecated as a source. WP:YOUTUBE may help you to understand why. Exceptions are made in referencing when it is the official channel of an entity directly related to the subject.
As the reviewer who drafted this I am unwilling to review it myself. I wish to avoid any possibility of accusation of bias from any editor. Thus, apart form making a general comment on Youtube, I have not checked any reference, nor re-viewed (no pun intended) the text.
The more patient you can be now, the better. Reviews aren't instantaneous. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 19:06, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really know why you sent my page to the draft space when it was already reviewed 8 days ago. Htystudent (talk) 13:54, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please read the edit history with care. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 17:19, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Crocker Cemetery

[edit]

Hello Htystudent, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Crocker Cemetery, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Crocker Cemetery.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Dclemens1971}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Information icon Hello. I wanted to let you know that in your recent contributions, you seemed to act as if you were the owner of a page. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 08:00, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also please note the WP:CIVILITY is a major tenet of editing Wikipedia. Snarking at someone over a spelling error is not civil. It's almost enough to give you a warning for uncivil behaviour. However, I view the warning above as the one you need more, just at the moment.
Please behave towards others as you wish others to behave towards you. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 12:54, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
