Sport by year in African countries

Re new categories for sport by year in Angola, the CAR, Benin, Botswana and Burundi; you have created several of these categories for 2013 eg Category:2013 in Angolan sport and then left them empty, hence they have been tagged for deletion. When I create these categories (eg for sport in Algeria and Mexico) I usually create several years eg back to 2010 not just the current year, and put at least some articles in the category immediately. This stops any deletion moves and also any need for someone to monitor these empty categories. As there are only 5 countries I will add the sports articles for these years (using [[Wikipedia:HOTCAT] but would suggest that you do not leave any more new categories empty Hugo999 (talk) 10:07, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

Are you aware that a page that you originally created is being altered? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_schools_in_Victoria,_Australia I'm sure the person's intentions are good but I'm not sure they understand the situation with Australian schools. I have asked the person to outline a scope of the changes and the perceived benefits but haven't a direct response. Do you have any comments? Sydney September 2013 edit-a-thon invite

Invitation

There is a backstage pass coming up to be followed by an editathon in the State Library of New South Wales on 23 November. This is the first time that an Australian cultural institution has opened its doors to us in this way and will be a special opportunity because the Library is providing: one of its best rooms; its expert curators (along with their expertise and their white gloves); a newly launched website (containing new resources); and of course, items from its collection (including rare and usually unavailable material) which we can look at, learn from, and use, to improve WP articles. For example, on the chosen topic (Australia and WWI), the Library holds many diaries and manuscripts from the period.

As you can see from the Library's project page, they have connected this editathon with their own work. They have already set out a wide range of resources to make things easier for us.
