Korean language

[edit]

Hey, The topic "Arguments" was copy-pasted from the article Dravido-Korean languages . He didn't even change the topic name. Arguments about what? It's an "argument" about the controversial theory about the language, not an argument about the "Korean language" . The section is like this.

[Korean language]
History
Classification
Arguments ----> ??? Seriously are you kidding ??
Dialects
Grammar
Phonology
Vocabulary

It should be like this.

[Korean language]
1. History
2. Classification

2-1. Altaic theory
2-1-1. Arguments
2-1-2. Examples
2-2. Dravidian theory
2-2-1. Argumments
2-2-2. Examples
2-3. Paleosiberian
2-3-1. Arguments
2-3-2. Examples

3. Dialects
4. Grammar
5. Phonology
6. Vocabulary

Please go to the article Dravido-Korean languages and edit the "arguments" , not here. One more, please educate yourself before using that deceitful user name ImprovedWikiImprovment. What a shame. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.247.135.183 (talk) 16:06, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You have to say that when you do it; you cannot just delete stuff without giving a reason. I wasn’t doubting what you said but you should discuss before deleting an entire section. ImprovedWikiImprovment (talk) 16:27, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi ImprovedWikiImprovment. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! -- Amanda (aka DQ) 03:31, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DeltaQuad: It’s my understanding it’s for vandalism only and nothing else. ImprovedWikiImprovment (disputationem) 07:09, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, this is just the normal template I'm supposed to send out. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 07:13, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

National Register of Historic Places listings in Ada County, Idaho

[edit]

Hi WikiImprovment, On your revert of my image improvements to National Register of Historic Places listings in Ada County, Idaho, why? Tamanoeconomico (talk) 19:16, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think that was a mistake; I skim through filter logs really fast. Fell free to add it back. IWI (chat) 19:34, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I just reverted it back. IWI (chat) 19:35, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
No harm done; thought I had stepped in it. Tamanoeconomico (talk) 02:17, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Mo Vaughn addition revert

[edit]

Hello and good day. Just 30 minutes ago, I made 2 additions to his page. I did cite that I used Baseball Reference and Retrosheet (a sister website to Baseball Reference), but I was reverted by you. It is in the references and external links at the bottom of the page, but I don't know how to actually source my additions. Can you help me on this? Would be much appreciated. Thank you and have a good day.2601:581:8500:949C:A5F3:1525:5D99:1249 (talk) 11:53, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@2601:581:8500:949C:A5F3:1525:5D99:1249:Please see Wikipedia:Citing Sources for information on how to cite sources. IWI (chat) 12:15, 5 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I got the first couple of steps easily. So when the box comes up, I enter Baseball Reference in the webpage and date. How do I obtain the URL and enter it? Also can I source something not in the references? I am sure this is not difficult, but the last couple of steps I am confused about. Need help in citing sources, it is important. Thank you and have a great day.2601:581:8500:949C:C502:A1AF:94EE:671A (talk) 11:32, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@2601:581:8500:949C:A5F3:1525:5D99:1249:You do not need the URL if it is already in the references, tell me the number of the reference on the page and I will add that. If something is not already in the references just copy the URL from the page you have found and copy it in; and of course you can add something not already in the references, in fact this is very welcomed. IWI (chat) 14:57, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also please consider creating an account as you appear to be a value to the community. IWI (chat) 15:01, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, again. It is reference #2. Then go to the bottom of the Baseball Reference page, click on Retrosheet, then click on Best Performances, home runs, that is the 3 home run game and source. I will put it back, please source, I am still having issues with sourcing. Thank you.2601:581:8500:949C:C502:A1AF:94EE:671A (talk)

Done, is that okay? IWI (chat) 21:22, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. Thank you for your help.2601:581:8500:949C:CDCC:A482:C583:1A55 (talk) 23:39, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jonghyuns wiki

[edit]

Did you change Jonghyuns wiki page and add this person Kim Hyun joong. ? Please cjange it back it’s disrespectful to him to do that . Jjong90 (talk) 19:03, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Of course it may of been someone else but it shows your name editing this . Jjong90 (talk) 19:05, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

No. I actually reverted that edit. IWI (chat) 19:08, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

f you search Jonghyun just that phrase originally his wiki showed - it does, but this guy Kim Hyun joong shows in it . The overview says this guy is dead by carbon monoxide. Also the overview is this guy , and search below shows this guy as jonghyun then the rest of shinee and all jonghyuns info has been deleted, filmography etc. Someone had a new page but it is missing a lot of things Jjong90 (talk) 19:43, 8 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the revert on Hurricane Beryl!

[edit]

Thank you for the revert on Hurricane Beryl! I had to reference that image due to people constantly changing the date of dissipation. Again, thanks. FigfiresSend me a message! 23:33, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Figfires: according to that source, the hurricane dissipated on the 8th, not the 9th, just so you know. IWI (chat) 23:34, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that was why I added the reference. People kept wanting to change it to the 9th. FigfiresSend me a message! 23:41, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Figfires:Oh okay, just put a note next to it with a threat of a block if they persist. Your welcome, it means a lot to be noticed for my reverts. IWI (chat) 23:42, 11 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Anglia Peninsula"

[edit]

Just a heads up, the fact that your title was not correct by Wikipedia conventions is an indication that "no discussion required" moves for new editors are not a good idea. It always helps to get some feedback from others on here. Welcome to Wikipedia though, happy editing! —DIYeditor (talk) 01:08, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DIYeditor: Yeah thanks, but I'm not a new editor (I forgot my password to my old account with no email). I didn't think a discussion would be required as the title should be in English, not German. I requested the page be then be moved to Anglia (peninsula) after my initial typo. IWI (chat) 09:33, 20 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Biblioteca de Birmingham listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Biblioteca de Birmingham. Since you had some involvement with the Biblioteca de Birmingham redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Polyamorph (talk) 11:51, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.

Regards, HaeB (talk) 18:56, 23 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like you have since sorted out this and the other moves. Thank you! Regards, HaeB (talk) 06:01, 24 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Barcelona

[edit]

Hi. I reverted your edit, because (1) you removed mention of Catalonia, and (2) you seem to have embarked on a campaign to include "map of earth" everywhere you can, with no consensus for that. Those sort of changes need discussion. Thanks. — Rwxrwxrwx (talk) 21:29, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Rwxrwxrwx:Embarked on a campaign. That’s not the only thing I did. No need to revert the whole edit. The Catalonia map has no relief version and is unneccessery since Spain is a relatively small country, IWI (chat) 21:32, 2 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

There isn't a "Main Street" in Winton. The photographer said "Main street" (not the name of a specific street, the capitalisation in Australian English makes a difference). There are a number of streets that might regarded as the main street of the town, depending on your point of view. The one with the shire council chambers, the ones the highway follows through the town. FWIW I suspect it is is Vindex Street because it is divided. Kerry (talk) 03:35, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

On having a look in Google Streetview, I see this view which appears to me to be photo, in which case it is in Elderslie Street. Do you agree? Kerry (talk) 03:40, 7 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your "avenue" caption edits

[edit]

Hi. I have reverted some edits of yours on captions in veraious New York City avenue articles, and would like to remind you about WP:BRD. When your Bold edit has been Reverted by another editor, the recommended next step, if you continue to think the edit is necessary, is to Discuss the dispute on the article talk page with other editors, but not to re-revert it, which is the first step to edit warring, a disruptive activity which is not allowed. Discussion on the talk page is the only way we have of reaching consensus, which is central to resolving editing disputes in an amicable and collegial manner, which is why communicating your concerns to your fellow editors is essential. While the discussion is going on, the article generally should remain in the status quo ante until the consensus as to what to do is reached.

Please do not restore your disputed edits, no matter how certain you are about their validity, until there has been discussion about them and you have a consensus to do so. Beyond My Ken (talk) 00:44, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Beyond My Ken:The fact that you didn't answer my message added on top of the fact that you provided no edit summary (almost as if you thought my edit was vandalism) means that I felt I had every right to revert back. The BRD is of course optional. You still haven't said why my edits were reverted. IWI (chat) 04:08, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Explain why the reader needs to be told, on the Madison Avenue article that the lead image is of Madison Avenue. The essay WP:ASTONISHME explains this situation best. IWI (chat) 04:12, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion should take place on an article talk page, not on a user talk page, so that other interested editors can take part if they're interested in doing so. Pointers to that discussion can be put on the other article talk page involved. Beyond My Ken (talk) 02:08, 19 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You were right; my apologies. Beyond My Ken (talk) 17:31, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Beyond My Ken:It’s fine; everyone makes mistakes. Regards, IWI (chat) 17:33, 26 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jupiter

[edit]

Re your change to Jupiter, explaining "Obvious WP:CAP": WP:CAP says "One of a caption's primary purposes is to identify the subject of the picture. Make sure your caption does that, without leaving readers to wonder what the subject of the picture might be." Your edit was to remove the mention of the subject of the picture. So your edit seems to have been more "contrary to WP:CAP" than "Obvious WP:CAP". Largoplazo (talk) 00:25, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The first rule for a good caption is to not state the obvious; it is of corse obvious that in the lead image of the “Jupiter” article, which is s picture of a planet must be Jupiter. IWI (chat) 01:05, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Largoplazo:”clearly identifies the subject of the picture, without detailing the obvious” - WP:CAP, rule no. 1 of good caption criteria. IWI (chat) 01:13, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm wondering why you're writing the first seven words of that but not reading them. The whole thing says "identify without detailing the obvious", which doesn't mean "don't identify". What the thing is is basic, not a detail. Largoplazo (talk) 02:23, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Country and sovereign state

[edit]

Just so you know what's going on..... There was some great discrepancy all over the country articles as in what the we're called and what was linked. Having them all say country allows for country specific links to be used when need be and stay consistent. In other words it would allow some countries to say and link island country, Landlocked country, Nordic country, transcontinental country etc.... I have been going around and linking sovereign state in the paragraph that discusses government type ( as this it makes the most sense in my opinion)... or the international relations section. Please join me whenever you come across any.--Moxy (talk) 16:45, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Grenfell Tower

[edit]

Hi,

re question on the tower - It is not actually "destroyed" as some have claimed because it is still structurally sound but in public interest it is to be demolished.

Is there any better description that could be used because it is still standing - and I went past it again last weekend?

Regards

Juanpumpchump (talk) 06:35, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Juanpumpchump:The definition of a building being destroyed is when it is useless or uninhabitable therefore, while the remenants of the building remain, Grenfell Tower is destroyed. IWI (chat) 09:31, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

the building itself is not actually "useless" because it could be refitted for habitation but because of the large loss of life due to the fire the Government have decided to demolish it.

Can you show any official clarification on the status of the building?

Regards

Juanpumpchump (talk) 11:42, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Juanpumpchump:Firstly, that’s absurd; Grenfell tower could not be restored. Secondly read the top sentence of this article. I’m not sure if there is a place to find “official clarification” but BBC News are considered a highly reliable source. IWI (chat) 12:54, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

is not "policy" it's a guideline, and it's not mandatory. Besides that, it's entirely standard for sany phrase in an article's lede which is a redirect to the article is bolded. Beyond My Ken (talk) 00:09, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Beyond My Ken:Maybe we should consider merging the articles; they are essentially the same thing with different words. IWI (chat) 00:22, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Also, in what can only be described as a rage in the edit summary, you stated that "city centre" redirects to Downtown, which is in fact not true as City centre has its own article. IWI (chat) 00:25, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
You are correct (except in your assessment of "rage", which was quite ridiculous). Probably city centre, town centre and downtown should all be merged together. Beyond My Ken (talk) 08:41, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Beyond My Ken:That was a joke, maybe I should have made that clear. Shall we put the proposal forward. IWI (chat) 12:09, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

IP editor 86.180.213.19

[edit]

I have not filed a sockpuppet investigation for the IP involved. I do not know the name of the banned account. The IP has repeatedly, openly stated that he is a banned user (see talk page for List of countries by suicide rate. Anastrophe (talk) 20:19, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Anastrophe: Can you see any evidence for who the user could be? Can we file a report purely on the basis that he said he's banned? I think not. IWI (chat) 20:21, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'd have to dig through histories, but other IP addresses used by this person have been restricted, and other articles have implemented page protection due to this user's behavior. So, no, not purely on user's admission. However, the pattern of behavior, on a limited cohort of articles, along with aggressive inclusion of unsourced material by this and other IP's, calls for page protection. In my opinion, of course. Anastrophe (talk) 20:25, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Have you filed a WP:AIV? IWI (chat) 20:22, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't. I have only extremely rarely engaged in any formal/administrative actions in my many years here, I prefer to spend my time editing. So I'd never even heard of AIV until you mentioned it just now. Anastrophe (talk) 20:27, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Except there is no equivalent "D" tag. We don't speedily delete drafts for lack of notability. The draft space exists to allow users to build their articles slowly, without the need to immediately demonstrate notability. There are other criteria that apply under which we can speedily delete a draft (copyright infringement, attack pages, etc.) but not notability. Dear IWI,

I can assure you that Love of Worker Bees (ISBN-10: 0897330013; ISBN-13: 978-0897330015) features a translation (by Cathy Porter) of Alexandra Kollontai's 1923 novel Vasilisa Malygina (Василиса Малыгина) because I am currently reading the book and it clearly states that it is Vasilisa Malygina. This is why I corrected the entry which claimed it was a translation of Kollonai's later 1927 novel Red Love. 'Red Love has also been translated into English but it has been published in a separate edition (ISBN-10: 9781466406742; ISBN-13: 978-1466406742.)

If you want Wikipedia to be accurate, as I'm sure you do, I suggest you unrevert my edit.

Thank you,

ImprovedWikiImprovment, OK. Just in case this could be a technical issue, I'll make a note of it at Wikipedia:Huggle/Feedback. Home Lander (talk) 21:09, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. IWI (chat) 21:09, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Got an idea. Can you put some kind of warning on this page? Once you have, I'm going to see if Huggle alerts me when I try to revert it. Home Lander (talk) 21:33, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Home Lander: Done. IWI (chat) 21:35, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
ImprovedWikiImprovment, I received the warning:
This edit is made on a talk page, so even if it looks like it is a vandalism, it may not be. Are you sure you want to revert it?
Not exactly what I was hoping for since it spawned a different alert. With that in mind, not sure of a great place to test the whitelist outside of the mainspace. Oh well, thanks anyway. Home Lander (talk) 21:38, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Home Lander: How about if I blank your user page? IWI (chat) 21:41, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see what the Huggle folks have to say and go from there. Home Lander (talk) 04:05, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@W%WkUETPlO^SoAcRw: Hello. While this may be the case, you must, especially on biographies of living persons, provide a reliable source to back your statement up. IWI (chat) 21:58, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You might have a look at it, some time. And this is not the first time. - DVdm (talk) 17:22, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DVdm: Still an optional guideline. IWI (chat) 19:18, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
"The BOLD, revert, discuss cycle (BRD) is an optional method of reaching consensus." - WP:BRD IWI (chat) 19:23, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I’m the alternatives section - "Bold, revert, bold again: Don't stop editing, and don't discuss. Make a guess about why the reverter disagreed with you, and try a different edit to see whether that will be accepted. It's often helpful if your next effort is smaller, because that may help you figure out why the other editor objected to your change" IWI (chat) 19:27, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it is your hobbyhorse MOS:BOLDAVOID that is just a guideline, as was explained above by user Beyond My Ken. I undid your edit per MOS:LEADSENTENCE, which is another guideline.
Then dismissing wp:BRD as "still an optional guideline" can be pretty dangerous, as it is an explanatory supplement to WP:Consensus and by extension to wp:edit warring, which are hard policy. You did the same thing here ([1], [2], [3]) and here ([4], [5], [6]). Again, be careful. - DVdm (talk) 22:53, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As I said "if not WP:IGNOREALLRULES. It is evidently better for the encyclopedia AND adheres to guidelines. IWI (chat) 16:01, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Evidently better in your eyes. Not in mine. So, no, definitely not "evidently better for the encyclopedia". And fencing with IAR can be dangerous. Watch out. - DVdm (talk) 10:25, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Airport logos

[edit]

Hello there,

Please note that your recent change regarding the placement of airport logos is a content and style violation. As you can see from several hundred airport articles, the name and logo are always listed separately for several reasons, the main ones being that the name section often states additional native or secondary names too while not all airport logos actually display the airports full name (Heathrow Airport being an example).

So we always use both sections (if there is a logo available) as thats what they are there for and they cannot be interchanged even if the name and the logo are exactly the same which is rarely the case. Especially image1 is dedicated to airport logos in the template by the way. Changes to this standard need to be discussed at WP:AVIATION before being executed as this destroys our work to maintain consistent looking articles.

Best regards.

Tank Man

[edit]

Good afternoon, I´m a complete beginner with WIKIPEDIA so I would like to request your understanding. I would like to know why my contribution to the legacy of the Tank Man, inserting a recent novel after several others, was deleted. Is it because the novel mentioned is not written in English? Is it because of the reference to the publishing house? Many thanks as I wish to learn how to do this right. Lavrentie Lavrentie (talk) 15:39, 17 November 2018 (UTC) Hi again, I think I have now understood your concerns regarding MoS and have addressed them Lavrentie (talk) 17:10, 17 November 2018 (UTC)in a new version of my contribution. Hope it will be acceptable for you. ThanksLavrentie (talk) 17:10, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Lavrentie: The main issue is external links; links should only be placed in the Cite web template (or the Cite book template if it’s a book). This template should then be placed in between these:<ref></ref>. This is called a citation and you’ll see it on every article. You can also use the “cite” tab at the top of the edit box in edit mode. IWI (chat) 11:42, 18 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks, this is very useful. My challenge now is that the page does not include the edit mode anymore, only edit source, which is too complicated for me.Lavrentie (talk) 21:23, 18 November 2018 (UTC) @Lavrentie: If you click the top in edit source on a PC where it says “Cite” then that should be simple. IWI (chat) 21:31, 18 November 2018 (UTC) Thanks, I will try. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lavrentie (talkcontribs) 06:41, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

F.C. or not

[edit]

Thanks for your note. Depends what we mean by consensus: probably, although I wouldn't entirely bet on it, the project template had consensus at the time it was written. But if we're talking de facto consensus, then football club pages ought to have lengthy directories of off-field staff with unsourced and completely inappropriate national flags next to them, which I do hope you wouldn't advocate... Don't know if you watch the project talk page: someone's started a discussion at WT:FOOTY. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 22:57, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Struway2: Yes but when nearly all football club articles adopt the same way...like come on. And of course I don’t advocate national flags but most articles don’t use national flags, so it’s a poor comparison. IWI (chat) 23:01, 27 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Govvy: I didn't think he scored for Norwich. I even checked his article. IWI (chat) 00:08, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a question of just who you scored for, the list is totalling all played premier league games which gives the ratio. Harry Kane played a few games for Norwich which is in the ratio, there are two other players with games for other clubs in the list who haven't scored for those clubs, got to keep the list format consistent! Maybe a footnote needs to be added to the page. Govvy (talk) 00:34, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Govvy: Well I apologise for my error. Maybe the whole article needs redoing then because this is about goals not appearances. IWI (chat) 00:52, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

History of photography warning

[edit]

You changed the lead sentence of the History of photography article and added a warning to keep it "concise". Isn't a correct statement preferred over briefness? Have you read and understood the second sentence, which basically explains why your version of the lead sentence is incorrect? Could you please discuss your preferred change on the article's talk page if you doubt this, rather than inserting warnings and directions in its editing page?Joortje1 (talk) 16:28, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Cars 3

[edit]

Can you please elaborate on your reasoning in this pending change revert, "simplifying text is not acceptable"? The intent of the edit by the IP seemed worthwhile enough (provide a little extra context), and my edit was intended to present the same intent in a slightly less awkward way. I'm always mindful of adding too much to a plot summary, so if you just prefer the more concise version, that's fine, but your edit summary is confusing as to your specific objection. Thanks! --Fru1tbat (talk) 18:39, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Fru1tbat: It was almost like the text was made more "kid readable", which for an encyclopedia, is unacceptable. Simple language belongs on Simple English Wikipedia. We don’t cater for kid understandability, this is a record of all human knowledge. IWI (chat) 20:18, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for clarifying - the intent was not to simplify the wording. The IP editor seemed to be trying to clarify a plot point, and I just copy edited for grammar and flow, essentially. The result of the two edits just provides a little extra context for the reader for that point in the film, and while I will concede that the original concise version could be judged to be just fine (I was on the fence myself), I think your characterization of "kid readable" is a bit off-target. --Fru1tbat (talk) 20:33, 10 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Why would I discuss it? I only undid to notice you for reverting a whole sentence just because victim's words. Sebastian James (talk) 21:14, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Sebastian James: I'm reverting it because it is controversial, you'll need multiple reliable sources for a claim like that. It looks like media sensationalism, which doesn't belong here. Furthermore, on Wikipedia, if someone reverts you, generally you should discuss it before adding it back (known as the bold, revert, discuss cycle). You will need to gain consensus on the article's talk page. Also, reverting reverts counts as edit warring, which isn't allowed. IWI (chat) 21:21, 20 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Let's not try to teach me Wikipedia. generally you should discuss it before adding it back, yeah, generally. I have replied on the article's talk page. Comment on the issue, not the editor. Sebastian James (talk) 23:50, 22 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Sebastian James: The "generally" means except in obvious situations i.e vandalism NOT content disputes. I did comment on the issue but I’ll paste it below anyway:
