It looks to me as though this was once an open proxy, but isn't now. However, my knowledge of proxies is not all that great, so I have posted a request for a check at Wikipedia:WikiProject on open proxies/Requests to be sure. Thanks. In the meantime: can you tell me if using our station's webpage introduction as an entry on Wikipedia (with proper source citing) is an infringement of copy rights? I copied our intro to Wikipedia and put a source link but the bot thinks it is against the rules...

It is quite against the rules. The page says "© Copyright Ryan Institute 2014. All Rights Reserved"; please read WP:COPYVIO to get an idea of what you'd need to do to make that material available for Wikipedia. Unless you actually own it, it's one heck of a lot easier to avoid the problem by writing your own material. --jpgordon^{::==( o )} 15:31, 27 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Another point to bear in mind is that there is no such thing as giving permission for use only on Wikipedia. Whenever you post anything to anywhere on Wikipedia, by Wikipedia's terms of use you are announcing that you give permission to anyone anywhere in the world to reuse the content, as it is or modified, for commercial or non-commercial purposes, subject to attribution. While the people running an organisation may be willing for a copy of its own web site's account of itself to show on Wikipedia, are they necessarily willing to relinquish control of their material to that extent? The answer is rarely "yes", and it certainly looks improbable that the answer is "yes" in the case of a site which has a notice saying "Copyright xxxxx. All Rights Reserved." In any case, we can't assume that someone who creates a Wikipedia account and says they work for the institution necessarily has the authority to release the material. It is possible to provide the Wikimedia foundation with evidence that you do, but quite frankly it is likely to be easier to just rewrite it in your own words. However, having said that, before you go to any more trouble at all over this, you should carefully consider whether the subject satisfies Wikipedia's notability guidelines. If it doesn't, then any article you write is likely to be deleted, no matter what the copyright situation, and presumably you won't want to waste a lot of time and effort creating an article that is doomed from the start to be deleted. A very quick glance at the results of a Google search suggests to me that it probably does satisfy the notability guidelines, but you may like to think about it to be sure.
